Describe a TV presenter
Well, there are so many different TV programs on show everyday in diversified channels; hence there are thousands and thousands of TV presenters we can see. Some may leave us a very deep impression while others may not leave a thing in our mind. Here, I’d like to talk about the TV presenter I love, Wu Zongxian, although others may have a mixed feeling about him.
Being a TV presenter in Taiwan, Wu started his career in the field of variety shows in the late 1980s, and then he became famous because of his unique style of hosting TV programs and therefore the TV programs he hosted are constantly ahead in the ratings. All these earn him the top salary among those TV presenters in Taiwan, being the local king for many rs. In 2008, he even won the Golden Bell Awards in television industry.
His fast reaction and tactfulness in hosting is among the first class, second to few others, and gradually, he formed his own style of hosting TV programs. Because he likes to use those popular words on the internet, and his figure is not like other middle-aged men, he is quite popular among the young audience. However, he also likes to rip on people, open the low gun, speak nonsense, and disrespect women, which, meanwhile, bring him a lot of criticisms.
Thanks to the change of the criteria of assessment, Wu was nominated three times for the best TV presenter in 2006,2007 and 2008, and successfully won the golden bell award in 2008 with the popular program “guess, guess, guess”” This is also the best affirmation to him.
When I feel stressed, and in my spare time, I like to watch the program he hosts, I like to enjoy the relaxation and laugh out my pressures by seeing him on the screen. He is really a great TV presenter in my mind.

Describe an artist
Well, you know, when we are pursuing a more fashionable life, various kinds of arts are being created. However, compared to the achievements and levels of those artists in our history, it is hard to find out one who is more outstanding. Therefore, to describe an artist, I would like to talk about Qi Baishi. One of the ten top artists in the 20th century in China, and also well-know through out the world.
I became to know him when I was in the middle school, when my father, one day, came back home very excitedly, because he successfully got one painting of Qi Baishi. However, a week later, my father was disappointed because the painting turned out to be a fake. Later, I am quite interested in gathering all possible information about this artist and his art works.
Under his brush, each flower, bird, fish and even an insect is amazingly vivid, while the hills, the waters and the figures are all perfect, showing the wisdom and philosophy of life and thus moving the readers directly. In his 80s, he was especially famous for his talents in drawing shrimps. He was so hard working that in his life time, he had produced more than 30000 paintings and 3000 poems.
He is a great artist because of his profound achievement in the filed of paintings, calligraphies, poems and seals, because of his combination of the folk art and traditional art, because of his integration of paintings from the life and paintings with freehand. I really admire him.

Describe a new law
Well, to provide a secured life for the public, every year the government of China is improving in its law system by updating those already existed ones or by issuing new ones. Here, I would like to talk about a new law that was just in practice in January 1st this year. It is about the regulations on advertisements on TVs and Radios.
For a time in the past, there are great varieties of advertisements on TVs and radios, but due to lack of proper management and supervision, there exist a lot of misleading or unhealthy advertisements, which exert a negative influence on the general public. And therefore, in January 1st, this new regulations were called into practice.
In this new law, it does not allow any misleading advertisements, or advertisements that contain unhealthy information, such as violence, pornography, disgusting pictures, unhealthy life attitude. Also, it does not allow any advertisements about cigarettes, and those about liquors are limited to a larger extent. In addition, it also regulates about the timing, the periods about the advertisements.
In this way, this new law tends to provide the public a much healthier living environment. And from its practice over the past months, the public, especially the children, do have a much better exposure of information from TV and radio programs. I do hope that more and more news laws that are intended to improve our life are issued in the future.

Beijing
Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, is the country’s political, economic and cultural centre. Beijing is located in the northern part of the North China Plain, surrounded by mountains on the north, east and west. It covers an area of 16,800 square kilometers. Beijing blends the traditional outlook and the spectacular view of the modern metropolis. The architecture of the Imperial Palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties has been well preserved. There are so many historic places such as the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Temple of Earth and the Summer Palace. Beijing will be the host city of the 2008 Olympic Games, which will bring about more changes to the city.
Describe the most important invention before the computer.
You should say: What it is. What it is used for. What the advantages and disadvantages of it are.
THE MOST IMPORTANT INVENTION ——THE AUTOMOBILE
Since its invention, the automobile has become one of the most important means of transport in the world. Automobiles have completely changed the lifestyles of almost all people in the world.
On the positive side, people can go anywhere by car more rapidly compared to on foot or riding a horse in the past. And thus people can realize their dreams of traveling to far off places.
On the negative side, automobiles are the main source of air pollution in the world. This creates the so-called green-house effect, which leads to many serious environmental problems. As for the applications of the automobile are concerned, I would like to highlight the following:
Firstly, it has totally changed the way in which we travel. In the past, animals like horses, mules, and camels were used for traveling and the transportation of goods. Compared to previous ways of traveling, automobiles are more comfortable and faster.
In addition, the automobiles have made it possible for us to transport large quantities of goods and people at one time. For example, mega-trucks and busses are well suited for these purposes.
Lastly, the invention of the automobile has resulted in many new industries being formed. The repairs and spare-parts industries for example, provide jobs to millions of people all over the world.

...CHAPTER 1 There are several ways to capture and listen to sounds at a distance. Obviously, it could always set microphones at a location of interest, and transmit the sounds by wire or radio to certain position. However, that is not always convenient or practical in certain cases of surveillance, or when dealing with bird calls or animal sounds. Another option is to use a sensitive, directional microphone similar to those used in network TV broadcasts of football or other sporting events. Such microphones typically have parabolic reflectors for focusing sound onto them which is perfect for long-distance monitoring or surveillance (Blackwell, 2012). A parabolic microphone uses a parabolic reflector (or dish) that will collect and focus sound waves onto a microphone receiver, in much the same way that a parabolic antenna (e.g. satellite dish) does with radio waves. A parabolic reflector will focus a parallel wave of sound onto a specific point, allowing a very weak sound to be more easily heard. Such reflectors are used in parabolic microphones to collect sound from a distant source or to choose a location from which sound is to be observed and then focus it onto a microphone (Matos, 2012). A parabolic microphone works much like a satellite dish. A parabolic dish reflects the sound waves from a larger area down to a small point, so using a parabolic dish with an attached microphone can allow a person to listen to unclear sounds at a great distance. When looking for a parabolic...

...Making Use of Qualitative Research Techniques Michael Berkwits, MD1 and Thomas S Inui, ScM, MD2 Author information ► Copyright and License information ► This article has been cited by other articles in PMC. Consider the following situation: You have recently taken on administrative responsibilities at a new hospital where you are responsible for improving patient care programs and organizational efficiency in the general medicine outpatient clinics. You are familiar with your department's general objectives for change and with theoretical strategies for improving operations, but you want to optimize the transitions for all involved parties. In early meetings, department and hospital staff express skepticism that any of the anticipated changes would serve them or the hospital's patients better. In this situation, immediate action—such as announcing a new clinical or quality review program—would directly address the challenges you face. But more information might help you more effectively meet your professional responsibilities. You might want to learn what systems already work well in the clinics, or better understand what services would be valued in the local community. You might also want to learn about employees' perceptions of their mission and service to identify strategies that could motivate them for change. The information to help you meet these objectives will come primarily from the people involved in your questions and plans—your patients and coworkers, for example...
