Diagnosis and Recommendations
Jadine was diagnosed with Panic disorder without Agoraphobia because of her scores on the BAI. I am recommending she see a medical doctor to prescribe her some medication to help with the anxiety, and a sleep aid so she can rest at night. First off its very common diagnosis all it means is she has unexpected panic attacks that tend to reoccur. Agoraphobia is a fear of being in crowded places or about being in public places which she does not have. It is recommended that Jadine continue counseling to address her anxiety, and to help her balance her work, school and family life. I think Jadine would benefit from mindfulness techniques like meditation to help reduce her stress. I think Jadine would benefit greatly from a support group for single mothers. …show more content…
There have been many contributors to the psychoanalytic theory, and it is ever changing to accommodate the client populations. This theory requires a highly individualized set of treatment and is unique to the client for this treatment to be successful, it will take years of building a bond with your client. With this type to treatment you review the client’s life, starting from early childhood to the present. The intervention I would is a Narrative approach. It will focus on Jadine’s life as a story each aspect of her life will be looked at in terms of a chapter. As Jadine is the author of her life she can go back and rewrite these chapters and this gives her control over future chapters. By having her look at her life in this perspective, it will help ease her anxiety because it will giver her back a sense of control over her life which will help empower her to go back and tackle other
