The Diary of Anne Frank

Would you family have the strength to sacrifice everything to stay together? The Frank family did. On July 5,1942 Margot Frank, a shy, sixteen year old was ordered to report to a work camp in Germany. To keep his family united Otto Frank decided to go into hiding in a secret annex located in Amsterdam, Holland with his wife Edith and his two daughters Margot and Anne. The Franks were later joined by the Van Daan Family, which included Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan and their son Peter. Then, Mr. Jan Dussel was the last person to live in the secret annex. These eight people had to live together for more than two years. They had become one big family. The main character Anne, an out-going, loud, sociable, thirteen year old found support to get through the two long years from her father, her older sister Margot, and Peter Van Daan.

A father and his daughter have a relationship that nobody and nothing can break. A father and daughter relationship is made up of love, respect, and trust. These three words are the key attributes that make Anne and her father’s relationship so special and unbreakable. Many scenes in the play led to conclude that one of the reasons Anne had the strength to keep a positive attitude and never lose hope during the two years in hiding is because of her father. In Act 1 Scene 2 Anne received a special present from her father. Something that she had always longed for, a diary. This diary was extra special to her because it was given to her from her father. When she first saw the diary she said, “A diary! I’ve never had a diary. And I’ve always longed for one.” Also while saying this she threw her arms around her father. Because Mr. Frank got Anne the diary and he always wanted one the reader can assume the Mr. Frank takes the time to listen to Anne. Also in Act 1, Scene 3 the reader learns that not only is Pim Anne’s father but also her teacher. This shows that education is very important to Mr. Frank and just because his family is in hiding doesn’t mean their education should top. Also Mr. Franks thinks that once the war is over Anne and Margot will continue school and their lives will go back to normal. Unfortunately Otto’s assumption was incorrect. Also during Act 1, Scene 3 Mr. Frank said, “Anne, you did excellent on your history people and very good in Latin.” This shows the motivations and the encouragement that Mr. Frank gives Anne. Mr. Frank’s opinion and approval is important to her. These examples prove that Anne defiantly found strength from her father while hiding in the secret annex.

Sisters have arguments and disagreements all the time but deep down all sisters truly love and care for another even if they don’t show it. Anne and Margot Frank’s relationship’s not a typical one. They are so different from one another. Also they have totally different personalities. Anne is a loud, talkative, outgoing, thirteen year old while Margot is a shy, calm, collective sixteen-year-old girl. When you first meet the two girls it is hard to believe they are sisters. Even though they re totally different on the outside in the inside they are both teenage girls who need one another to stay sane while living in the same place with the same people for two years.

The Diary Of Anne Frank

...There are not a lot of people that I could live with in such a small place as the Secret Annex. In the play The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, we learn about Anne Frank and the people she was in hiding with such as Mrs. Van Daan. I find Mrs. Van Daan hopeless and theatrical. Anne Frank was a positive and optimistic teen. My favorite character in the play is Anne, while Mrs. Van Daan is my least favorite. I chose Mrs. Van Daan as my least favorite character because she was overly dramatic. She is hard to take when she was so dramatic about things and I would find it very hard to live with her. When no one had heard from Miep in three days, everyone was sitting around worried that something had happened. Mrs. Van...

In the “Diaries of Anne Frank” she explains that people lied to help her and her family. The family protecting the Franks lied to help them even though there lives were at risk. This shows that sometimes to protect other people, it’s okay to lie. In article 1 paragraph 2 a survey by the AP-Ipsos poll said that ⅔ poll said that it was okay to lie to help somebody out. I also think that it is okay that if you make a mistake you can lie to save a relationship. So in another AP-Ipsos poll in paragraph 7 of article 1 65% of people said it was okay to lie to avoid hurting someone's feelings. So sometimes that means that you...
