The following report will seek to explain the difference between E-Business and E-Commerce providing examples where applicable to support the answer.
Most if not all companies nowadays have realized that the Internet is not only here to stay but that its influence in the way business is conducted will increase with the passage of time. We have all heard the terms e-business and e-commerce being used quite frequently but what do these terms really mean and what are the differences between the two terms that are being used.
E -business and e-commerce are terms that are used to differentiate one vendors' product from another. Both terms are different, and that difference matters for today's companies. The ‘e’ stands for electronic networks and

Emerging markets are excellent opportunities for companies as they are in constant demand for new and innovative products. By using E-Commerce, companies can conduct business and reach international customer throughout the world. E-commerce is also an incredible tool for new businesses as it allows them to rapidly broaden their customer base and interact with customers and businesses throughout the world. It also allows them to inexpensively market and advertise their company worldwide. In 2007 in Canada, it was estimated that, customers living outside of Canada generate 19% of the online revenues. E-Commerce definitely represents the future of the globally engaged marketplace. EC has left the innovation in existing jobs along with the creation of many new jobs. For example, the top ten in the main jobs in 2010 did not exist in 2004. This is because they are all directly related to the technologies that did not exist at the time. It can be assumed that, in the future many more jobs, business, and tasks will be computer-based. This will definitely impact the types of good and services in demand in the marketplace, and will continue to change how traditional tasks are …show more content…
An auction as we know is the process where buyer bid continuously for an item until the highest bidder wins the item. Forward auctions are the types of auctions that sellers use to offer their product to as wide a clientele as possible. Ebay mentioned above is a great example of this. In the case of a reverse auctions an individual or in most cases an organization will post their project or service they require at a specialist 3rd party website and request a quotation (RFQ). Immediately, there will be people submitting bids in an effort to win the project. The lowest bidder will usually get it. Governments have been know to use this method in an effort to save on costs. The Electronic marketplace (e-marketplace) is another mechanism of e-commerce where buyers and sellers transact on a virtual space by buying and selling goods and services.

Other types of e-commerce are G2G (Government-to-Government), G2E (Government-to-Employee), G2B (Government-to-Business), B2G (Business-to-Government), G2C (Government-to-Citizen), C2G (Citizen-to-Government).
