Respiratory Discharge Plans

...Discharge Plan Making arrangements for discharge planning is an extremely important and very detailed part of a patient’s care. Preparing a patient for discharge involves a multidisciplinary team, financial planning, and educating the patient, family, and everyone who is involved in the patients care. “The discharge plan is the mechanism that guides a multidisciplinary effort to achieve the successful transfer of the respiratory care patient from the health care facility to an alternative site.”(1) A discharge plan includes an evaluation of the patient and their needs, the site of where the patient will be discharged to, the patient’s resources financial situation. Homecare can be a financial burden on patients who are chronically ill and in need of continued care. The case manager will investigate all options and contact agencies for financial assistance if needed. Within the last ten years much advancement has been made including better respiratory equipment and government initiatives that help reimburse for the equipment. The PPS (prospective payment system) was initiated by Medicare for the purpose of reimbursement for different types of respiratory equipment. The case manager has one of the most important roles in the planning and arrangements of a patients discharge plan. The case manager is in daily contact with the physician, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and social services regarding the patients’ problems and needs. Social services will work...

Personal Narrative

...PERSONAL NARRATIVE 1 When taking a look at how my life has changed over the past five years I can truly and honestly say that I would never have expected the things that have happened. Back in June 2007 I was separated from my husband and moved into my own apartment. I was in the United States Navy for six and a half years at that time. My divorce was finalized in January 2008 and I deployed to Afghanistan in March 2008, for eight months. After coming home from a long deployment, I had orders to move to Lemoore, California. This area is nothing but farm lands and I did not like that at all. I was born and raised in Southern California and enjoyed the fast-paced life that I was living. It is amazing how things have changed. In July 2011 I was honorably discharged from the United States Navy and I moved back in with my mother and two younger sister. Growing up we lived in a condo in Diamond Bar, California, but that all changed over time. The same time that I got out of the military, myself, my sisters and my mother had to move out of our condo and into a two bedroom apartment. Talk about a huge change in life. This move has not been easy for any of us. There is no privacy and we all have to share the living space. I share a bed with my middle sister and my mother shares a bed with my youngest sister. I never thought that I would be unemployed for this long, but it has been over a year since I got discharged. It seems like nobody is hiring right now...

Few Good Man

...Few good man Time from time you may hear stories of abuse by the military justice "system". There are multiple destroyed and financially devastated families out there suffering heartbreak and loss at the hands of an uncaring, unfeeling and unjust process which makes a mockery of our Bill of Rights. Military justice for the majority is prefabricated according to the wishes of the local Commander, and the "trial" or "court-martial" is tantamount to a pre-ordained verdict of GUILTY. How could any court proceeding be considered fair when the "convening authority," by right of title, is given the power to select the judge, the jury and defense and prosecution attorneys? It may go "unsaid," but the implication is very clear - if the convening authority "sees fit" to bring about a court-martial, then the accused can be assumed to be guilty. What's special, or even topical, about A Few Good Men movie is it speaks to how military honor can be so readily suborned by the authoritarian impulse. And second, how the same honest pride - not to mention competence - is necessary to bring such posturing would-be tyrants to justice. The main issue the movie touches upon is military justice. A good marine abides by the following code: 1. Unit 2. Corps 3. God and 4. Country For this code to be at its effective best, it must be governed by truth and justice. What happens when truth and justice fail to be active participants of this code? Justice has been defined in many ways...

...stability. But ceramic caps have a very less ESR and are useful in bypassing high frequency noise but cannot provide the compensation to maintain the loop stability as the dominant zero is at a very high frequency. So LDO’s with ceramic output capacitors have an additional series resistor R comp which performs the functionality of ESR with the C comp to provide the additional zero required for compensation. Load dump occurs when the battery is disconnected when it is being charged by the alternator. A huge voltage spike of 120V is generated and can take up to 400ms to decay. Signal diode arrays can also be used in digital and computer circuits to protect high speed data lines or other input/output parallel ports against electrostatic discharge, (ESD) and voltage transients. By connecting two diodes in series across the supply rails with the data line connected to their junction as shown, any unwanted transients are quickly dissipated. ...DECLARATION I, [type your full first names and surname here], declare that the contents of this dissertation/thesis represent my own unaided work, and that the dissertation/thesis has not previously been submitted for academic examination towards any qualification. Furthermore, it represents my own opinions and not necessarily those of the University. Signed __________________ Date _________________ Abstract Windsor Airmotive Asia Pvt Ltd is the leading repair and overhaul shop for CFM56-3/-5/-7 series turbine engine components. During development of a new repair scheme, to replace the inner inducer and outer inducer of the Forward Inner Nozzle Supports (FINS), a major challenge was encountered at the Electric Discharge Machine (EDM). A trial done on a scraped part revealed that 112 vanes have to be aligned before it can be machined by EDM to the inducer. By introducing a semi-automated machining fixture, the alignment of the vanes will be made easier, on top of increasing the utilization of the EDM by 20%. The aim of this project is to develop a machining fixture for the EDM so that the alignment of 112 vanes will be made easier.By developing this fixture, the company can expect to reduce the scrap rate of FINS. These FINS are often scraped because of the inducer wall rub marks that exceed the limits given in the engine manuals. This will also be beneficial to the customers by helping them to reduce their overhaul cost for the engine rebuild. This will...

Textile

...Colorfastness refers to the resistance of color to fade or bleed of a dyed or printed textile materials against water, light, rubbing, washing, perspiration etc. to which they are normally exposed in textile manufacturing and in daily use. Colorfastness to Rubbing Colorfastness to rubbing test is designed to determine the degree of color which may be transferred from the surface of a colored fabric to a specify test cloth for rubbing (which could be dry and Wet). Crockmeter is the main equipment used in this test. Crockmeter uses a standard pressure and rubbing motion to provide reliable and reproducible test results. Specimens are positioned on the base of the Crockmeter and held in place with the sample holder. The rubbing action is provided by an acrylic "finger" which moves in a straight line with each complete turn of the crank. The reciprocating load arm is weighted to provide a constant 9N load on the sample at all times and a mechanical counter keeps track of completed cycles. Then, the result of the specimen is evaluated using the grey scale of staining. Colorfastness to Washing The main test method of the colorfastness to washing is carried out called AATCC standard detergent WOB (without optical brightener). The test measures the resistance to water of any colored textiles. Launder-moester is the main equipments used with the help of grey scales. Testing procedure (Usages) 1. Attach the multifiber fabric to specimen by sewing or stapling. 2. Place the sample...

...achieving near term objectives. Because it helps define appropriate short-term actions, it is more likely that the same line manager, making the staffing decision will still be in place to collect the benefits of that decision later on. First of all, it is important to address staffing from a proactive, planning perspective and not just an implantation phase. Even though this approach may have been used before, it is no longer realistic for organizations to assume that the staff needed to implement its plans is readily available and quickly recruited, trained, and qualified to work. Some staffing limitations may impact the company’s ability to implement its plans. For instance, my organization requires that only registered nurses with advance life support certification are to be scheduled to work on sub-acute unit. If this requirement is impossible to fulfill and company is unable recruit a sufficient number of nurses with critical care skills then implantation plan may not be successful. These limitations should...

Stages of Multimedia Project

...List and briefly discuss the stages of a multimedia project. Be sure to define the milestones that mark the completion of the phase. Firstly, you must develop a sense of its scope and content, having a rough idea in your head on how to design your project. Then I have to develop an organized outline and a plan that is rational in terms of the skills, time, budget, tools, and resources that I have in hand. Scheduling, once I have worked out with my plan that include the phases, tasks and work items that I feel will be required. I have to layout these elements along a timeline. This will usually include milestones at which certain deliverables are to be done. To create a schedule I must estimate the total time required for each task. After scheduling, estimating the cost of the project will be relevant to estimate the entire cost after the project has been completed. It is relatively simple matter to estimate cost and effort, For example, the manufacturing industry. Having a progressive accounts and billing will be saved to review the financial part of the project, for example preparing a cost sheet. Finally, write and structure the elements of the multimedia project. Potential clients do not have a clue about how to make multimedia, but they do have a vision on their project. As a project designer, I will know what, my clients want and how to satisfy them. I occasionally may encounter a more formal request of proposal. This are typically detailed documents from large corporation...
