QUESTION 2. DISCUSS YOUR INTEREST OUTSIDE YOUR JOB/ OR YOUR EXTRA – CURRICULAR INTEREST/ ACTIVITIES.
The nature of my work is the type that is very demanding. Working with an IT firm has being had being a very demanding part of my life. I am with the administration has to be updating and also marketing our product. Also being the elder sister after my big sister who live in the United Kingdom with my mum and dad, am also faced with left to deal with family concerns on behalf of my parents. But all these do not curtail my passion to help the needy in my neighborhood. Almost everybody in my vicinity refers me to be a very charitable person and is something I do not take for granted. Am the type whose parents even though provided everything my kid sister and I needed in life, did not spend enough time with because they lived and worked outside the country and I had to watch over myself and my little sister in a very nice neighborhood where everybody would mind his or her own business. But a neighbor in the area took it upon herself to take care of us like her children so that we would become very responsible even though we had everything to survive and make life comfortable for us. This was where and how I got my inspiration to do charity and give back to the society in my own little way.
Notwithstanding the little thing written about me above, I like to do the following outside my job and other thing that takes my time and these thing I do, is mostly in my closet. They are things that I do as an individual from my own free will.
I do a lot of youth counseling in my neighborhood and because of this, am well- known in my neighborhood by a lot of youth in my hood because my door is always opened to them. I became glued to this when a lot of young people always wanted to share thoughts with me and the secret to this is basically because I come to their level because I have being like them before. My heart aches when I see young people going wayward when they have all the parental attention you can think of. I did not have all that but because a good “Samaritan” cared so I was okay so there are always people around me at home especially at weekend. Through this I instill the idea of being each other’s keeper .Now being each other’s keeper may also share each other’s need. There was a situation where a very brilliant young boy in the hood had to quit school when he got to the senior high school because his parents could not afford it any longer and because my door is always upon confronting the boy one day after work, he opened up to me. Now the boy is in the university which I am fully paying his school fees in consultation with his parents.
Also, I love to spend time with the youth of my church and other church activities especially in the organization of the church for services and special programs. As the head of the youth of my church, we have organized a lot of fun trips and excursions and many youth programs. In fact, I love to be with the youth.
I again love sports a lot. Swimming, football and gymnastics are my favorite sports activities and I am mostly joined by my junior sister and other some friends from my hood. We mostly do these every Saturdays and holidays. This is just because I was a sport girl in my senior high school and I must say that I was quite good.
Also, also I have being involved with a lot of volunteer works and community services especially, church outreach, and fund- raising, tutoring and mentoring. I would say these are the areas I have found myself to have operated in. My church has embark a lot of outreaches which I have actively gotten involved especially the one we embarked to the Northern part of Ghana where we drilled a bore- hole for the community. Also I have mentored a lot of many youth in my hood like I say from the beginning of this essay. Fund- raising in the church to sponsor the church’s activities and projects I something I love to do a lot. I actively do this based on the in the Bible that says “give and it shall be given unto you, pressed down, shaking over and good measure” and this has worked for me in diverse ways.
Last but not the least, I like photography is something I like to do that a lot especially Sundays after church services, trips and excursions with my friends and the and occasions like weddings and parties. One moment I really felt my photography talent had come of relevance was when my whole church went on excursion to the Boti falls- a tourist site in Ghana and I handled taking of the pictures and later printed them and distributed it to the individual. It was really a nice experience.

Teacher Morale

...can help teachers to maintain a positive attitude and be happier at work (Govindarajan, 2012). Ellanberg as cited by Govindarajan (2012) found that where morale was high, schools showed an increase in pupils’ academic achievement. Conversely, low levels of morale can lead to decreased teacher productivity and burnout. Recent studies found out that the academic achievement of pupils in the Division of Antique did not meet the standard set by the Department of Education (Arguelles, 2012; Ople,2012; Doronila, 2011; and Cabasan, 2011). Moreover, as observed by the researcher being one of the teachers in the division, the attitudes and enthusiasm of teachers towards their work seems below the standards also. This situation aroused the interest of the researcher to conduct a study to examine the level of teachers’ morale in relation to pupils’ academic achievement, hence this study....

Human Resource

...Behavioural/Competency-based Interviews Behavioural interviews are based on the idea that past behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviour. The interviewer will want specific examples of when and how you demonstrated particular behaviours. Prior to interview each position is assessed for the skills/competencies and characteristics that relate to job success. Interview questions are then developed to probe into these areas. All candidates are asked the same questions and notes are taken in order to evaluate candidates. The word competency is widely used in business and personnel psychology and refers to the behaviours that are necessary to achieve the objectives of an organisation. A competency is also something you can measure and lists of competencies form a common language for describing how people perform in different situations. Every job can be described in terms of key competencies. This means that they can be used for all forms of assessment, including appraisals, training needs analysis and of course, selection. • Individual competencies – your personal attributes: Flexibility, decisiveness, tenacity, independence, risk taking, personal integrity • Managerial competencies – taking charge of other people: Leadership, empowerment, strategic planning, corporate sensitivity, project management, management control • Analytical competencies – the elements of decision making: Innovation, analytical skills, numerical problem solving, problem solving, practical learning...

...and am proud of my profession. Your company produces a superior product/provides a superior service. I share the values that make this possible, which should enable me to fit in and complement the team." Question 2: What interests you about this job? When you're asked what interests you about the position you are interviewing for, the best way to respond is to describe the qualifications listed in the job posting, then connect them to your skills and experience. That way, the employer will see that you know about the job you're interviewing for (not everyone does) and that you have the qualifications necessary to do the job. For example, if you were interviewing for a Human Resources Manager job where you would be responsible for recruiting, orientation, and training, you will want to discuss how you were responsible for these functions in your past positions, and why you are interested in continuing to develop your expertise in Human Resources management. Another example would be if you were interviewing for a Programmer / Analyst position. In that case, you would mention your interest in learning and excelling at new technologies, your experience in programming both new applications, and your interest in and your ability to problem solve. In all cases, you will want to convey your enthusiasm for the opportunity to interview, along with your solid ability to do the job. Question 3: What do you know about Our Company? A typical job interview question, asked to...

Engineering Overview

...Engineering Overview The Field Engineers apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between perceived social needs and commercial applications. Engineers design products, machinery to build those products, plants in which those products are made, and the systems that ensure the quality of the products and the efficiency of the workforce and manufacturing process. Engineers design, plan, and supervise the construction of buildings, highways, and transit systems. They develop and implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials, such as petroleum and natural gas. They develop new materials that both improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology. They harness the power of the sun, the Earth, atoms, and electricity for use in supplying the Nation's power needs, and create millions of products using power. They analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on people using them. Engineering knowledge is applied to improving many things, including the quality of healthcare, the safety of food products, and the operation of financial systems. Engineers consider many factors when developing a new product. For example, in developing an industrial robot, engineers determine precisely what function the robot needs to perform; design and test the robot's components; fit the...

The Best Answers to Tough Interview Questions

...The Best Answers to Tough Interview Questions Tell me about yourself. This is really more of a request than a question. But these few words can put you on the spot in a way no question can. Many quickly lose control of the interview during the most critical time- the first five minutes. This is not the time to go into a lengthy history or wander off in different directions. Your response should be focused and purposeful. Communicate a pattern of interests and skills that relate to the position in question. Consider your response to this question as a commercial that sells your autobiography. Provide an answer that includes information about where you grew up, where you went to school, your initial work experience, additional education and special training, where you are now, and what you intend to do next. One of the most effective ways to prepare for this question is to develop a 60-second biographic sketch that emphasizes a pattern of interests, skills, and accomplishments. Focus your response around a common theme related to your major interests and skills. Take, for example, the following response, which emphasizes computers. "I was born in Canton, Ohio and attended Lincoln High School. Ever since I was a teenager, I tinkered with computers. It was my hobby, my passion, and my way of learning. Like most kids I enjoyed computer games. When my folks gave me a computer as a reward for making honor roll my sophomore year, I mastered DOS, Windows, and WordPerfect within six...

Then again took an aptitude test but finally didn’t give offer to anyone. - Then came Coca Cola on Day 2. They organised GD in the groups of ten each and then there was a single interview of about half an hour which mainly consisted of HR based questions. The topic of the GD was “Are Engineering students wasting time in studies ?”. The interview mainly focussed on the commitment to work with them and asked whether I did any activity depicting leadership skills. - Coca Cola shortlisted candidates with medium profile like moderate CPI with few extracurrecs. I had a target of gettng placed in Qualcomm from second year itself. It came on Day 2 and I got a call from Qualcomm in the middle of the interview of Coca Cola...

Impact of Globalization on Education

...Module 7: Curriculum IMPLEMENTATON “Homework Must Be More Fun and Meaningful’ In Module 5 we discussed what was involved in curriculum planning and in Module 6 we looked at different techniques of designing the curriculum focusing on some curriculum design models. The next stage in the curriculum development process according to Tyler, Taba and Alexander & Saylor is the implementation of the curriculum plan. The final destination of any curriculum (whether it be a school, college, university or training organisation) is the classroom involving students, teachers, administrators and the community. Implementing the curriculum is the most crucial and sometimes the most difficult phase of the curriculum development process. Those responsible for implementing a curriculum often hear comments and concerns such as: o Teachers are already overloaded – how are they going to implement the new ideas. o Parents and education officers are only interested in a high pass rate in examinations – how are schools to incorporate suggested changes. These are real concerns and made worse when persons implementing the curriculum are not clear what is expected of them. How often have we heard people say, ‘the plan was good but implementation was poor’. On the other hand, if a curriculum plan is not implemented and remains on the shelf then all efforts in planning will be a sheer waste. A curriculum must be delivered...
