I will use my job as an example of real world communications. I work for a major bank in our investment department. I do not work with the public, I am behind the scenes, and my customers are internal and are located throughout the Unites States. The three forms of communication we use are very secured and private.

E-mail- This is a very useful tool for our work environment. We have personal requests made through e-mail and we also use Shared e-mail which is convenient if your internal customer is unsure who should handle a certain request. I like using e-mail because you can always reference back to a certain e-mail to solve issues. About 99% of my internal customers are located in different States; e-mail allows communication to be efficient and very detailed. Our Bank information pertaining to Trades and any other company business is private, e-mail allows for information to be sent securely.

IM- IM system by IBM called Sametime, this communication tool is used the most in our work environment. We found this to be the most efficient way to get a request completed with in minutes. My job is time sensitive because I work with the Stock Market, so all requests has to be completed by the end of market close.

Teleconferencing/Video- This is very self explanatory, I can not travel to meet with all my internal customers. We accomplish a lot of issues and improvements with these types of calls, while at the same time it allows me to continue to work on my time sensitive requests.

Sitting correctly displayed a confidence and self-assurance I had. Lastly, I feel oral communication is the most important. Speaking slow, clear and confident demonstrated a level of professionalism needed for the positions. I have always been conscious of my speech and tone during the interview process.
