In the series of the Hunger Games and Divergent the two main characters Katniss and Tris are two different kind of girls in these novel unlike other girls in other novels because they are the hero’s in the novel and in other novels guys are usually the hero or the tuff person and the girls are sweet and scared of most things but not these novels because these two girls have a lot of people that are against them and little bit people with them. Katniss from Hunger games is a girl that knows how to survive in the games and she’s not really a people person and at first she gets everyone to love her than after she gets everyone to hate her and she even hates herself throughout the novels. Katniss started to become insecure about herself not body type but guilt from things she shouldn’t have felt guilty about because most the stuff she did weren’t really her fought but she thought it was on her hands. She was never a people person but even after she started being insecure about herself she had more people dislike she even said “Still, I hate them, But, of course, I hate almost everybody now. Myself more than anyone” (Suzanne Collins 8). which just shows how much she’s struggles liking people and herself. In most dystopian stories they live the perfect life but in Katniss situation she never had the perfect life because she lost her dad, the district she lived in didn’t really had much money so they didn’t really have much, and she also didn’t like the way the capitol handed things which some sites say “In the Hunger Games, Katniss’s world was against her – but it also provided her with opportunity to change it” (The Making of the World 1). which shows that characters from dystopian novels are different non-fiction or fiction books. Katniss really didn’t have that much motivation to do much after the games because they destroyed her “Closing my eyes doesn’t help. Fire burns brighter in darkness.” (Suzanne Collins 352). Katniss had a lot of nightmares or flashbacks because of the games which is what made her hate herself even more because she couldn’t forgot what she did it was stuck in her head. The people that did like Katniss and were on her side would try to help her to actually like herself and not feel guilt towards herself “I think….. you still have no idea.
