Yes, Studies have shown that humans are social creatures and we like to make new connections and to communicate our opinions and to listen to others, and through regular Facebook status updates that pop up in our friends news feeds or vice a versa we are able to do this. Facebook use has become a part of millions of people’s daily routine, whether it is to update a status, reply to a message or even to read the News.

Facebook has provided both positive and negative psychological effects. Negatively, Facebook has provided a site which can be used for cyberbullying along with an extreme influence on education. And because people may only post positive status, people tend to get the impression that all is well in their lives and they have no problems. And this could lead to feeling that their lives are boring and sad as and recent studies indicated as to how children and teenagers feel because of this. Facebook is also a distracting site that can make you lose track of time and distract the mind from more important matters. .
. Facebook has generally provided positive psychological effects on the multiple sections of society. Positively, Facebook has revolutionized the understanding of communication along with increasing the self-esteem of users. And Studies have shown an increase in self-esteem and social interactions. With a group of 288 adolescents and 285 adults, we explored differences and similarities in use of Facebook for information sharing and use of the controls to protect their privacy. Adolescents reported disclosing more information on Facebook and using the privacy settings less than adults. In this study, the researcher argues that BBM and WhatsApp may generate noticeable improvements in consumer’s lives but may simultaneously cause serious social and personal problems, including addiction to these applications. Amazingly, this topic has received little if any attention from consumer behaviorists, who need to understand the psychological factors that affect BBM and WhatsApp consumers. Hence, the current research examines two personality traits—extraversion and social anxiety—that influence consumer attitudes toward these applications.
