There were there major events that made Dr Jack Mackee change his view of work and life. First; he was diagnosis with throat cancer and had to experience life as a patient. This opened his eyes to how Doctors can display no sympathy at times and how hard it is just to be a patient the time spent waiting and all the paperwork that must be filled out all the time. Second; the big disconnect with his family and certain colleagues at work. For example, when he came home and told his child he had cancer, kid was not really receptive to him. His wife wanted to help but he didn’t let her in at first because he was so used to doing things his way and never ask for a help him anything he does.
