Sumer “The Land Of civilized Kings with help by Gods?”

Sumer, located in the southern region of what is now modern day Iraq and Kuwait was once a region known as ancient Mesopotamia. It is thought to be the cradle of civilization which lied between the rivers Tigris and Euphrates. The word Mesopotamia means” between the rivers” in Greek. Sumer was inhabited around 4500 BC, but this claim has been contested or the years by archaeologists, due to artifacts unearthed in excavated mounds. So, the Sumerians were not the first settlers in this region, according to the dates of the artifacts it was the Proto-Euphrateans, inhabitants of the Euphrates River. These inhabitants moved from being hunters-gathers to agrarian society evidence by the stone tools from hoes, knives and clay aircrafts! So, when did the Sumerians enter this era? The first ruler of Sumer was a king named Etana of Kish, who came to throne as early as the third millennium B.C. According to the kings list, he is described as the one who stabilized the land. The (kings list) is a scribe document located in the city of Lagash, time frame 2100BCE, that list all of the kings and their great accomplishments during their reign, in other words an attempt to show the continuity of order in their society dating back to the beginning of civilization. Both the Mesopotamians and the Sumerians believed that civilization was a result of the god’s triumphs of order over the chaos of men. Who were these Gods? The Sumerians called them the” Anunnakis!” The Mesopotamians and the Sumerians both believed that the Gods created human beings as co-laborers and the gods to maintain order and control over chaos During the Sumerian civilization, the wheel, writing, agricultural and irrigation was invented. With all of these new inventions started the concept of how a city was created. Eridu was considered the first city by the

The “Personal Prophetic” Mandate “The Lord does not want you to be just a prophetic man going here and there, sharing a prophetic word. He wants you to lay a prophetic foundation. He wants you to lay out a whole program whereby you go into a church and lay a prophetic foundation within the very framework and infrastructure of my people.” (personal prophecy spoken over Dennis Cramer, Oct. 1996) The “Amos” Mandate Amos said, “I do not come from a family of prophets neither am I a professionally trained prophet with a scholarly background... Still, the Lord has commanded me to prophesy!” (Amos 7:14,15) The “Equippers” Mandate “And He gave some to be prophets—for the equipping of the saints” (Eph. 4:12). The Greek word for equipping implies: A recovered wholeness, as when a broken limb is set and mends. A discovered function, as when a physical member is properly operating. The task of the gifted leader is to cultivate the individual and corporate ministries of those he leads. As the “equipper” his job is to help each member find his function in God, experience wholeness in his ministry, and to help each member find his place of service to God. ...to drink and drive, it is something that one might as well tell them if you permit these children to talk on a cell phone while driving. Is has been proven in many different states that teenage drivers are more susceptible to accidents without the use of a cell phone, but when they choose to add a cell phone to the mix, the potential for an accident increases significantly. Over the past 10 – 15 years, the number of cell phone users has steadily increased. With this increase, naturally comes at least an equal increase in the number of cell phone users who drive while talking on the phone. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates “there are some 974,000 vehicles on the road at any given daylight moment driven by someone on a hand-held phone” (Glassbrenner, 2005). Anyone who has been driving for more than a year has been the “victim” of a cell phone driver on at least on occasion. There have been comparisons drawn which have been supported by various studies, some of which will be discussed throughout this paper, which equate the cell phone driver to a drunk driver. While it could be argued that there is no comparison between the two, the inference drawn by many of the surveys is that the drivers are more likely to be involved in accidents as a result of being preoccupied with their phone conversations. “Cell phone distraction causes 2,600 deaths and 330,000 injuries in the United States...

...Guns are weapons that should be feared, it is not something that should be seen every day in schools. We all know that the best way to end gun violence is to limit or prohibit gun ownership. But Gun Owners of America thinks differently. They want America’s schools to fight fire with even more fire. They are proposing to allow “principals and teachers who are qualified to carry guns in their states to do so at schools” (Source A),which I disagree with. This can result to even more violence, create an uncomfortable learning environment for students, and the chances of another school massacre happening are very slim. The extra protection will only last until poorly train guards choose to use their guns without full comprehension of the extends of their actions. There have been many incidents involving police and armed guards doing exactly that, many lives have been lost to these incidents. “A sheriff’s deputy was at Columbine High School during the shooting, fired his weapon early, missed four times, and the total number of victims rose to 13”(Source C). The armed guards are there to protect not to add to the number of casualties. An armed guard in the hallway might give some a sense of protection to some. However most would say a student wouldn't feel safe with armed men patrolling the halls. Schools are where student go to learn, and to some students, school is their safe place. How can you feel safe when you know there are people with guns roaming the halls just waiting for...

Doing the Right Thing

...Doing the Right thing on the Streets of Fort Lauderdale I was just about to get into my car at the Fort Lauderdale Post Office when a woman approached me and said in slurred words, “Can you give me 50 cents to catch the bus?” She was gaunt and haggard and I suspected she was much younger than she looked. The ranked stench of alcohol assaulted me. She was obviously under the influence, but I asked her anyway, “Have you been drinking?” Unable to understand her I asked her if she had a home. She said no, and that she’d been sleeping outside. I asked the woman her name and she answered, “Annie.” I said, “Annie, do you have a family?” Her reply was that her husband had died. I asked if she had any children; her response was incomprehensible, so I asked her if she’d like a place to stay. She answered “I’m really tired and want to sleep. My bones feel like their breaking." My heart went out to Annie. What experiences had she endured that had caused her to come to this point in her life? I knew of only one way to get some immediate help for Annie. I asked if I could pray with her and she immediately agreed. She was wearing thick woolen gloves, one of which she immediately took off so she could clasp her hand in mine. That really affected me; her action indicated to me that she really wanted the touch of another warm hand. I wondered how long it had been since she had felt any kind of human contact. Right there in the Post Office parking lot I closed my eyes and we had church...

Uber

...Uber Service in Vietnam Nowadays, there are not too many cars in developing countries; therefore, the citizen has to use the other transportation instead of using cars such as motorbikes, bikes, buses, and so on. Vietnam is one of the developing countries unlike America, where there are a bunch of cars and everybody can have cars by their own. Uber is an American international company headquartered in San Francisco, California. It develops markets and operates a mobile app based on transportation network also called Uber. Moreover, it does not have any cars or drivers. Its function is providing service through people who would like to make some extra money of being temporary taxi drivers. Convenience, cheapness, and newness are three things Uber makes its customer feel when using its service. Users need to have Uber app on their smartphones before enjoying its service. The app will provide the map and the location of Uber registered cars for customer. Then, both of them can take the initiative to arrange the time and the place by them own. Using Uber, people can pay cash or credit card after you reach your destination. However, this is one of the disadvantages of using Uber in Vietnam because Vietnamese people usually use cash for purchasing stuffs instead of using those complicated card. My Paper

...Harvey In Harvey , two scenes where the actors spoke to each other effectively and listened to each other is when Veta went to see the Dr. Lyman Sanderson. That part was realistic because people actually do need help and its normal for a doctor sometimes to be wrong about an person side of the story. When Veta went to Lyman and tried explaining what was wrong with Elwood, and explaining how she felt about the situation made the scene realistic because how she was explaining with such detail and how Lyman was listening to a certain degree. Also, in the beginning when Veta is talking with her daughter, Myrtle, about how Elwood behaves and how they are embarrassed of him. Almost every family has someone they would be embarrassed to be around and maybe be just a little bit embarrassed of. That moment down-to-earth it seemed as if it was happening right in my own house. One technical element that helped make the play Harvey more interesting was when Veta came back from the institution and her hair and clothes was messed up. In the previous scene , it was said they had to strip her down and make her take certain baths. Duane said she even struggled and fought back because she did not want to be there. When she came home and we saw her after everything happened it seemed as if it actually happened! The way she was talking as if she was exhausted, and the way she told the story which matched the story of the Duane. The connection they had in the play was excellent. Being that Harvey...
