Dementia a term used to describe a general decline in all areas of mental ability within the brain, Alzheimer’s a degenerative disease that slowly and progressively destroys the brain nowadays these diseases are common and they are widely known, but in the 1860s there was no such thing. Alois Alzheimer was born on July 14, 1864 in Marktbreit, Germany and showed a high tolerance for science at an early age, after he obtained his first medical degree he worked in a hospital where he met a 51-year-old women suffering from short term memory loss, he was able to isolate the compulsive causes of severe dementia and worked so extensively to where that condition became known to be Alzheimer’s
