Dytecna is a company which is a leading independent engineering solutions, technology systems and support services company which provides design, products, and manufacturing innovation to the defence industry where reliability, safety and protection are paramount.
Staffing to Meet Changing Business Demands - At Dytecna, the management of human resources will need to make sure that the company will have enough staff on hand to meet the demand of the business. This could either mean not employing any more people, hiring more people or even laying off some people. With the current form of government trying to cut back on unnecessary spending such as cutting back on the MOD e.g. ammunition, soldiers and vehicles. This means that the Dytecna company will need to cut back on a work force as less people are need to meet the demand of less products for the MOD in this case.
Coordination of Team Resources to Meet Targets - At Dytecna, the company will want to coordinate different teams to do different jobs all at once, this is because the teams can then work together to make sure that the targets are met. By doing this, time is not wasted when members of the work force are working together instead of waiting to do something and that means more products can be made as the coordination of the teams can improve the time taken to complete the production of a product. As a result of this coordination, the company can then sell more products and therefore make a larger profit on the cost of running the company. For example, Dytecna will use their team resources wisely so that not too much time is wasted when they are producing their products for the defence industry, and therefore are able to supply enough products to their clients.
Monitoring Team Performance - At Dytecna, the management of Human resource will need to monitor the performance of the teams working at the company. If the teams are not up to date and on target, then the company will lose money from being unable to produce enough products in order to sell and to make a profit on the running of the business. By checking the performance of the teams, the Human resources manager will know how well the teams are working and whether they are working at a profit making standard. This means that company will have the opportunity to change the way the work force operates, in order to improve the performance of the teams and to make the best profit from the selling of their products.
Liaison With Other Departments - By being able to communicate with the other departments at Dytecna, the company will be able to produce as many products with out losing too much money. If one team in one department have a problem then the communication between the departments can help get the problem fixed or informs other departments that they will need to work on something else instead of wasting time and money doing nothing.
Levels of Formality - Having a level of formality in the workplace is very important as no one would want to work in a place where they are not treated in a respected way. Also, the level of formality will need to exist in the workplace when an employee is addressing their superiors.
Separation of professional from private activities - If the separation between personal and private affairs is not kept in the work place, then the work force could be distracted by something that they might have done during their time off. As a result, this can impact the production of a business and could cause a loss in profits. So because of this separation, people can focus on their work at hand while still have time by themselves to focus on their private affairs. Provision of Appropriate Incentives - By providing an appropriate incentive to the workers of a company, the manager is trying to get better, harder and faster work out of the employees. An example of such an incentive, would be at school when a teacher says, “you can leave the lesson 5 minutes early if you finish your work.” this means that the students will try and finish their work since they are getting something in return. Also the incentives need to be appropriate to the employees because if they think that the incentive isn’t a good idea then they not going to work as hard as the manager would like them to.
Encouraging Creativity and Initiative - By encouraging creativity and initiative, the business can become more adaptable to the changing world. An example is a business adapting to the growing business on the internet. This means that a business will encourage their employees to come up with new ideas and solutions so that the company can get better. These businesses that can adapt quickly tend to become very large after starting off as a small business such as Yahoo!. However in the bigger businesses, the adapting process will become slower as there are many more people involved in the creative decision making and it will take longer to decide on what to do. At Dytecna, the company will want to encourage creative thinking and the use of initiative, as they will want new ways that the company can build their high quality products for the defence industry in order to make the production of the products cheaper and easier to use therefore benefitting themselves and the clients they supply to.
Outsourcing versus in-house business - Organisations, have two different choices, they can either make use of their own services in-house or the service of others who will do the work for them. For an in-house business, this can be quite expensive to employ someone within the business who will to do work or provide maintenance than it would be if you asked an other company to do the work for you. This is because the company will need to employ and pay them as well as provide office space, equipment and benefits for the person. Where as outsourcing will shove the costs on to the other company while they charge a fee for doing the other companies work. One other reason for outsourcing is if the in-house work force are not qualified or have the right expertise to do the required job where as it would take a lot of time and money to train someone in-house. Finally, outsourcing lets the company recuse workers for a job when and where they are needed in stead of permanently employing one person. An example, of Dytecna, would be using their own services to test their new products to make sure that they are up to scratch and are ready to be put into action.
Suitable Qualifications - For different jobs, the employees will need different sets of qualifications in order to work in a company. This is because the employer will want to be sure they are capable of doing the job properly without making any mistakes. For certain jobs only GCSE grades are required while other jobs e.g. accounting will look for candidates that only have A-levels at the least. This is important because having the right qualifications will open up loads of opportunities for other careers. For Dytecna, the company will need employees that have got suitable qualifications in order to produce the best and most effective products for the defence industry while still being able to produce them quickly and at the best possible price. By high having these required qualifications, there is a lower risk of injury in the Dytecna workplace as the employees using the machinery will be qualified to do so and will know how to operate the certain machines.

Experience in a Similar Role - This is very important to an employer, because if a candidate for a job has got previous experience in a similar line of work, then the candidate is likely to do a higher level of work as they will know what they’re doing straight away while other candidates with little experience will have to be trained at what they are doing. This means that the company can employ workers that can start working with a high standard straight away instead of wasting time and money training some to do the same job.
Knowledge of Products and Services - This is an important asset to the employer who is looking for an employee in the customer services department, because the candidate will know about the products they produce and sell and how the company delivers. This is important because it saves money and time for the company as they want the customers to be happy and satisfied by knowing exactly what they are paying for and when their products will be delivered.
Experience of Specific Industry - This is very important to an employer as a candidate with an experience for a specific industry can provide more knowledge and experience to the company, as well as providing hints and tips which could be used to improve the business. This also means that the company will be able to find out more about their competitors in the same industry if they employ some one who has experience in the same industry.
Effectiveness in Meeting Personal and Team Targets - This is important for a business to succeed in their line of work. If the company and the individual employees can meet the targets with which they are set, then the business is likely to thrive as more products will be produced and sold and therefore more profit will be made. This is also an important asset as an employee who can meet targets on time will stand out to an employer instead of one who doesn’t work to the same level.
Ability to Observe and Raise Professional Standards - This an important quality to a business, since an employee who can work at a consistent level will be valued more by an employer than one who might work well one week and then poor the next. By being consistent, a company can have a worker force that produces enough products all year round while raising the level at which they work, will make a bigger profit for the business as more high quality products will be produced and sold. In order to improve the level of working, an employee might suggest new and better ways to do the same job that is more cost effective and takes a shorter amount of time to complete.
Patient - It is important to be patient in the workplace because if an employee doesn’t act in a calm manner, then they can risk the production effort of the company as mistakes are likely to be made. Also, if the employees are not calm injuries can occur from not being aware of their environment with which they are working in. at Dytecna, the employees will need to be patient when working with the machines and the products as the company will want to make sure that the products are to a high enough quality and because the machines and the products will be fairly expensive, it is better for the employees to be patient and to take their time than to be impatient and to break the machines or the products and have to start the task all over again, which will cost the company a lot of time and money to do so.

Hardworking - It is important to be hard working in the workplace, because this proves to the boss that the employee is a valued member of the work team. If the employee doesn’t work hard then the company is able to sack them if they think they are not doing the job properly. Also this can affect the product of the company as a workforce that doesn’t work hard, will take longer to the same job as a team that is working hard. At Dytecna, the employees will need to work hard in order to make sure that every part of the products for the defence industry are working perfectly and that nothing is wrong with them, because if they fail in the field then a lot of people will suffer the consequences as a result. Also, this gives the companies raises the reputation of the company as a reliable and high quality company which can then increase the number of clients for the business and therefore the businesses profits in the long run.
Team Worker - Being a team worker is important as in business, many employee may be need to help complete a task or produce something together. This means that if an employee can work well in a team, the one in charge, will value said employee more as they will be able to co-operate to get harder tasks done which require team work while also being able to work well by themselves. Where as an employee that can’t work well in a team situation, will ultimately affect business production as the team won’t be able to complete tasks and therefore the job doesn’t get done. By being a team worker, an employee at Dytecna will be able to help the other members of the team in the company in order to get the task at hand done as well as to meet the target set by the company.
Good Interpersonal Skills - Good interpersonal skills mean that people in the work place can get along with each other, promote positive relationships in the workplace and enable to get the job at hand done better and more efficiently. Some can be naturally good at interpersonal skills where as others will learn this skill. By having these important skills for working with each other, makes a worker more employable and can improve the work that they do. One such interpersonal skill is smiling this is a very basic skill can encourages others to listen and to talk to you. By having good interpersonal skills, the employees at Dytecna will be able to carry on with their work and not get distracted by other employees that they don’t get along will which can result in bad products being produced and sold and also damage to the equipment and machinery that the company uses.
Co-operation with others - By being good at co-operating between other employees and also the higher placed jobs such as mangers, is a very important skill to have. This means that the worker in question is more employable as they can do what they are told to do and can get on with the job at hand without any questions asked. By co-operating, with others, which is fairly similar to having good interpersonal skills, employees can work hard and efficiently together when t comes to tasks that require more than one person working on one thing. This means that the products are still produced to a high standard while still being completed in the required time.
Negotiation - This is extra useful skill to have in the work place, this involves discussing a topic in order to reach an agreement or a common ground. Usually at the start of negotiations, the opposing parties will usually have very different opinions. In negotiating, a person must find what both parties can agree on and still have what is called a “win-win” situation. This skill can be useful for settling opinions between staff members, agreeing on personal or departmental targets, agreeing on the allocation of the budget and during interviews especially for new staff members. Since conflict between employees can be very destructive in a working environment, being good at negotiation, can be very useful.
