For the annotated bibliography I chose three credible sources. I find that WebMD is a good site to go to when there is a question that pertains to the health world. WebMD is not only partnered with the FDA, but each article that is published is first read before it is published. The other site reference is CBS news and I also find that they are a credible site. There is a split between the views and concerns that all stem around the e cigarette. The two different views are the e-cigarette is a great alternative to smoking and the other half think it’s going to lead teens to being addicted to nicotine. I personally would like to know what chemicals the manufacturers’ put in the vapor oil that is burned.

Doheny, K. (2014). E Cigarettes Q&A. unknown: WebMD

In this article it discusses the worry of E cigarettes. At this point the public and our health officials do not know what potentially effects that E cigarettes has on our health. Some even believe that they could be a gateway drug taking form of tobacco product and creating risky behavior for our underage individuals. Thankfully, The FDA has requested regulations for the industry. Up to this point officials do not know what compounds are in the production of the E cigarette. The regulations may take up to two years before they can closely monitor and regulate the industry of E cigarettes.
I find that the article is credible. WebMD is in partnership with the FDA. The articles that are posted on WebMD are reviewed and verified by a licensed physician. WebMD also requires that the advertisements on their site to in good taste and has to be an true description of product. The URAC is as nonprofit organization that specializes in the

E-Cigarette Analysis

...In the beginning of the increasing popularity of e-cigarettes, the upper class was more associated with them, therefore they were the early adopters. The early majority adopters were older smokers (Cataldo et al., 2015). The late majority included smokers, especially middle aged men, young adults, teenagers and mental health patients (Cummins et al., 2014; Niaura Glynn, & Abrams, 2014; White, Newcombe, & Walton, 2015). According to Cataldo et al. (2015) e-cigarettes were common in older smokers 45-64 year-olds because of three reasons. One, older adults are targeted by tobacco industries that suggest e-cigarettes as a safer alternative to tobacco cigarettes. Two the ban on tobacco smoke in public areas does not include electronic cigarettes,...

The E-Cigarette Debate

...The E-Cigarette Debate Electronic cigarettes, often called e-cigarettes, are battery operated devices designed to look like regular tobacco cigarettes. Like regular cigarettes, e-cigarettes contain nicotine. There are three main styles of e-cigarettes: mini, mid-sized, and modified. Mini e-cigarettes mimic the look and size of traditional cigarettes and are usually used by beginners. Mid-sized e-cigarettes are generally used by more experienced users and there are separate compartments for the battery, the atomizer, and the cartridge for the e-juice. Modified e-cigarettes are the most expensive, but they allow users to experience a variety of flavors. Most electronic cigarettes work the same way. E-cigarette users inhale the way they would with a regular cigarette. This inhalation activates the atomizer to heat the liquid in the cartridge and convert the liquid to a vapor. Inhaling this vapor through the mouthpiece delivers nicotine to the lungs, and the user exhales vapor that looks much like a cloud of cigarette smoke. The liquid that fills the cartridges is usually propylene glycol, an additive that the FDA has approved for use in food. The cartridges may contain different amounts of nicotine, or no nicotine at all. Manufacturers usually add flavorings to the liquid. Options range from tobacco and menthol flavor to mint, chocolate, coffee, apple, cherry and caramel. Electronic cigarettes do have some benefits over traditional cigarettes. First, e-cigarettes do not have...

...E-cigarette poses little health risk and is a better alternative to cigarette smoking for many reasons according to several recent studies. To prove that it is safer and less toxic, researchers measure the component of e-cigarette liquid and vapor by doing a detailed toxicology characterization using gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The test indicates that the primary components consist of only water, propylene glycol, glycerin, and nicotine. The Pros And Cons Of E-Cigarettes

...E-Cigarettes are battery-powered devices that vaporize nicotine. They've been sold in the U.S. since 2007 and now have millions of users worldwide and nearly $2 billion in annual sales.
