Are we really helping our children and ourselves by getting all sorts of immunizations and vaccines? Vaccines can actually harm a child’s immune system and brain, causing such disorders as autism, ADD, ADHD, asthma and allergies. Children and the elderly are the most people who are being vaccinated. Vaccine schedules have more than doubled since the 1980’s. In the last 25 years up until now, with vaccinating children, their health has had a huge downfall. As a child I was brought to the doctor’s office every time I was sick and given antibiotics. What they gave me could have more or less hurt me in the long run. I am sick several times out of a year because my immune system is very poor and takes a long time to fight infection. Because of taking these antibiotics, didn’t allow for my own body to try and fight the infection therefor I’m sick quite a bit.

Antibiotics increase the bacterial toxins delivered into the body by killing other bacteria not targeted. Some may even reduce vitamin C which weakens your immune system.

What exactly are in the ingredients in the vaccines that we are getting and giving to our children? Preservatives and chemicals that increase immune response, aluminum phosphate, phenol, gelatin etc. All of which exposure to these toxins in the early stages of development is severely dangerous to the brain.

Immunity can be achieved naturally. First off by breastfeeding your newborn, even if its just for the first couple months. It’s a natural source of food that can’t be retrieved by formula. Breastfed babies are less likely to get sick or contract such diseases as heart disease, cancer, diabetes and also allergies.

Eating healthy improves your immune system. I have just discovered juicing and I’m finding that my health has improved in just a few weeks. Eating a lot of raw veggies and fruits are key.…...

Action Plan for Optimal Health and Wellness

... As we should be exercising at five days a week for at least twenty minutes a day and eating well balanced meals, learning more about taking care of our environment would produce the knowledge of creating a healthier environment to live in. Like taking on the physical aspect of walking through our neighborhoods picking up trash or going door to door letting our neighbors know of the benefits of conserving energy, recycling, etc. Helping to keep our environment healthy greatly reduces risk factors for dangerous and potentially deadly diseases. We would also be increase our spiritual element by becoming in tune with the earth, feeling like we are part of a bigger picture and that we are doing are part to claim a piece of it and the satisfaction of knowing that we are helping others as well. Creating a strong spiritual element helps us with adapting to life’s day to day struggles, giving us the ability to cope better and deal with curve balls and the crazy things life throws at us. Increasing these three elements in society would make us stronger and help us in achieving our optimum wellness but we need to keep pressing forward in our quest, strengthening each element to keep us progressing towards our ultimate goal. A Healthy Life

...A Healthy Life Brooke Williams Sci163 Kristina Worthington May 27, 2014 A Healthy Life Health and wellness is an important part of everyday life and it includes fitness and nutrition, preventing chronic disease, environmental awareness, and protecting your immune system. There are many ways that each of the topics can affect your life and the way you live it. The knowledge of these can give way to a more healthy life. Wellness is much more than merely physical health, exercise or nutrition. It is the full integration of states of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The model used by our campus includes social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual and physical wellness. Each of the seven dimensions act and interact in a way that contributes to our own quality of life. There are many ways to implement them all into our everyday society but the three in particular that I would give more focus and put emphasis on would be environmental, emotional, and intellectual. Emotional wellness implies the ability to be aware of and accept our feelings rather than deny them, have an optimistic approach to life, express feelings freely and manage feelings effectively, express emotions appropriately, adjust to change, cope with stress in a healthy way, and enjoy life despite its occasional disappointments and frustrations. Emotional includes the “capacity to manage one’s feelings and related behaviors including the realistic assessment of one’s......

Chronic Illness Evaluation

...affected, other parts of your life are going to be affected. Another characteristic is that it brings uncertainty. What is the future going to hold? Will I have to deal with this forever? These are some questions that a person with a chronic illness will ask themselves everyday. The relationship between a healthy nutritional program and cardiovascular disease is simple. When it comes to eating a diet high in fats, sugars, and cholesterol, there is a higher risk for cardiovascular disease. When an individual can understand how to control the factors such as high fat foods, stress, blood pressure, etc, they will be able to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. A great way to start to control those factors would be to exercise. If you can get your heart rate up to a safe level, you will begin to burn calories. Burning calories will allow the body to start reducing fat. However, along with exercise, a proper diet needs to be in place. By eating low cholesterol foods, fresh fruits, and vegetables, you will be more active, and have a lower risk of acquiring cardiovascular disease. Having a chronic illness can have a major effect on the immune system. For example, Aids. When an individual contracts aids, the virus basically hijacks the cells and uses them against the immune system. Once the virus takes over the T cells, it can replicate very quickly. Once this happens, the infected T cells no longer have the ability to fight off infection. The healthy T cells will......

Health and Wellness

...Action Plan Over the last few weeks our team has come up with ideas that would help improve overall health. We have looked into the areas of health and wellness, nutrition and fitness, prevention of the most prevalent chronic diseases, how the environment affects our health, and protecting and enhancing our immune systems. These simple steps can lead to optimal health and wellness. We as a team recognize the six dimensions of health in our lives, and feel society is stronger in some areas than others. Areas we would like to see improvements in our social, physical, and environmental health. We can see that it is hard for people to interact with one another in many ways. People do not seem to be able to communicate face to face or feel comfortable with anyone that is not just like themselves. We would like to see people from across the cultures and races learn how to connect in the real world, and see that when we make things better for one, we are really making it better for all. We can do our part by reaching out to others and setting an example of how to treat others and making everyone feel needed and appreciated. Our society is known as an obese nation, and this is causing many avoidable diseases. We need to educate our society on how to make healthy food choices, and how to become physically active. Society cannot achieve optimal health if the environment around us is not healthy. Protecting the planet from pollutants in our water, air or soil will help......

...have studied the components for living a healthy life. Within the components we learned were six dimensions of health, which include: physical, social, emotional, environmental, intellectual, and spiritual. Utilizing technology, the six dimensions of health were presented weekly via “Game Scape” episodes. This was an informative, engaging, and hands on program that emphasized each of the six dimensions of health through weekly challenges like a common game show of today. After viewing all five episodes in Games cape, the three elements of health and wellness we would want to increase in society are: rewards of physical fitness, nutrition and health management; preventing and treating chronic diseases; and infectious diseases and environmental effects on health. Nutrition and fitness play an intricate part in our overall health management. It is wise to develop and incorporate some type of physical activity in our daily routine for at least 30 minutes. Physical activity can include a light jog, walk, or a gym regiment that fits the needs of the goals a person has set. However, prior to beginning a workout routine you must look into the physical demands and not start to extreme if you had never worked out before. Begin at a slow to moderate pace and work yourself up to more intense levels as the weeks go by and remember to warm up and cool down. Along with physical activity a person should eat foods that are healthier. Eating healthy is a way of life for some people. Some......

8 Surprising Health Benefits of Sex

...8 Surprising Health Benefits of Sex Of course sex is healthy, but did you know that a good sex life can provide specific health benefits? We spoke to the experts to find out just how sex improves our health (not that you needed any convincing). 1. It May Make You Thinner Dread working out? Don’t break up with your treadmill just yet. But if it’s late and you haven’t made it to the gym, don’t forget that sex counts as exercise, too! “Sex burns between 75 and 150 calories per half-hour,” says Desmond Ebanks, MD, founder and medical director of Alternity Healthcare in West Hartford, Connecticut. It’s comparable to other physical activities, he says, like yoga (114 calories per half-hour), dancing (129 calories per half-hour) or walking (153 calories per half-hour). Bonus: Sex may also help your muscles stay lean in the process. “Sexual arousal and orgasm releases the hormone testosterone, which, among other things, is necessary to build and maintain bone and lean muscle tissue,” he adds. 2. It May Improve Your Heart Health You’re probably already aware that heart disease is the number-one killer of women. Eating a healthy diet, and keeping your cholesterol low and sodium in check are great ways to stay on top of heart health, but so is having sex. “Sex is exercise that raises heart rate and blood flow,” says Dr. Ebanks. “In a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, researchers found that having sex twice or more a week reduced the risk of......
