These days animals are murdered and tortured for our own selfish reasons. Chickens are stuffed in to tiny cages were they are unable to move so that they become overweight and we can enjoy their meat more. Pigs lay in the darkness side by side , getting sick and spreading diseases to each other. Waiting for their deaths! Animals are just like us they feel pain , when you kick a dog u can see it whimpering or even crying. Animals have emotions and set goals in life.So why take them away from their natural habitat and slaughter them. Our group strongly believes that eating meat is murder. For these main reasons one animals have rights two we cause animals unnecessary pain and three there is other viable alternatives. I will be speaking about the first two.

My first point is that animals have rights just like people. Its against the law to murder or torture humans so why do we do it to animals if they are so much like us.They are living and breathing .They suffer, feel pain ,experience loss, have families, can be depressed or happy . Lobsters let out screams when there bodies are boiled to death. Elephants get sad and cry when they come across another dead elephants body. How would you feel if some one came and murdered your pet and then ate it so why do it to other animals. For these reasons and many more I think animals have rights.

On to my second point which is animals are objected to unnecessary pain. Cubs are beaten to death because when they are beaten they get scared and there is more bloody pumping through their body so the meat we eat is more juicer and animals are kept in small crates which prevent movement and inhibit muscle growth so their flesh will be tender. Also some animals are fed a diet that is deficient of iron so their flesh is paler and looks more appealing to the costumer.Cows are kept in intensive confinement so they suffer emotionally because they are socially deprived. Pigs are very social and affectionate creatures so when they are confined to small spaces were they cant even turn around it affects them both physically and emotionally. Pigs become crazy with boredom and develop nervous ticks other are driven to fighting and cannibalism because of their frustration. Animals don't see daylight from the time they are born to the time they are sent off to get slaughtered.Humans put animals through all that pain just to have a nice meal. For these reasons I think that animals are objected to unnecessary violence.

Today I have shown you a world were animals are beaten to death were people think its ok to abuse and hurt animals even though they are so much like humans. Because of this our group strongly believe eating meat is murder.

Persuasive Essay On Eating Animals

...The misery hiding behind your hamburger In modern culture, murder is something society is yet to accept for obvious reasons. The idea of someone taking your newborn child from your arms, and not being able to fight back is absurd. As horrific as such scenario sounds, we are contributing to these dreadful acts. Factory farming is when large quantities of animals such as cattle, pigs, and poultry, are housed together for mass production for the pleasure of our consumption. As a consumer ask yourself, is the murder of an animal justified? Is wanting a hamburger more important than the suffering and torture of the animal which it came from? Though a large amount of people are for animal rights, most are uninformed of the suffering behind factory farming. If people knew the true conditions in which the animals live, the unacceptable lifestyle these creatures have, and the torturous process that contributes to having food on your plate, we would all be hostile to the practice. Factory farming is unacceptable and it should be abolished....

Meat Without Guilt of Ethics

...Meat without Guilt of Ethics Jessica Paxton Devry University America today has developed a unique relationship with meat. They love meat because it is part of everyday life, but they have guilt about the process the meat has been thru to get to them. Meat in America goes through slaughterhouses that have been called into question more and more. Slaughterhouses stop many people from eating meat because of guilt, but changing the process by; first reevaluating the ethical treatment the animals go through, secondly meat needs to not have a sense of guilt come with it, then change the assembly line process when killing the animals, and finally reverting back to hunting animals for just what we need. First, slaughterhouses need to be reevaluated for the ethical treatment of how the animals are killed. There are rules that they slaughterhouses are supposed to abide by both ethical and legal. However, there are many situations where those rules are being broken, but nothing is really being done about it. There was one instance where PETA came in and found that one slaughterhouse was treating the animals with cruelty when they investigated. http://www.peta.org/features/Agriprocessors.aspx http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/news-slaughterhouse-cruelity-humane-death-myth In this specific case it shows how animals are inhumanely stored to be slaughtered. These companies plead guilty to 10 counts of animal cruelty after the investigation was over. They had been killing animals...

Ethics

...POLICE CORRUPTION AND MISCONDUCT Police corruption became widespread shortly after the formation of the first American police departments in the 1800's. Police misconduct can range from minor cases to criminal acts that are considered to be corruption. Misconduct can be defined as mismanagement especially of governmental or military responsibilities or intentional wrongdoing; specifically: deliberate violation of law or standard especially by a government official; or improper behavior. Corruption is defined as impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle: depravity; decay, decomposition; inducement to wrong by improper or unlawful means (as bribery); a departure from the original or from what is pure and correct. Police corruption is a very gray area because people and society disagree on what is classified as corruption. One of the most famous police officers in the United States is Frank Serpico. Serpico had pride in wearing his police uniform, but it quickly dissipated when he realized his partner was picking up pad money (payments by store owners to ensure cops would be there in case of trouble, but also ignore minor violations of the store owners and their customers). Serpico did not want anything to do with that and didn't want the ...

Veganism

...Balancing Veganism Diet is a major concern amongst Americans today. There are many reasons why someone would choose a specific diet, whether it be weight loss, allergies, or moral reasons. No matter the concern, many people will jump in with hopes of quick progress. Veganism is one of the top diet choices of today. However, is removing a vital component of nutrition like meat detrimental to one’s health? Are moral issues distracting from nutritional wellness? With the knowledge of proper research veganism can be as nutritionally sound as a balanced eating style. Before breaking into the principles of vegan eating, let us focus on what a balanced diet is. As defined in Total Fitness & Wellness, “a well-balanced diet is composed of approximately 58% carbohydrates (including complex carbohydrates and simple sugars), 30% fat, and 12% protein” (Powers, Dodd, Jackson, & Miller, 2009). These are necessary requirements for daily functioning. Can a cheeseburger fill all three percentages? Unfortunately yes, but there are very few nutrients in overly processed foods. Balanced diets focus more on lean meats and higher quantities of fruit and vegetables. The...

You advocate the slaughtering of animals and eating its flesh while I condemn slaughtering of animals or eating its flesh. Very few Muslims would favour me for what I write and preach. It does not come as a surprise to me, for I am learned and enlightened while most of you do not know your religion or may never have read the Holy Quran with its deep meanings. But it is my duty to let you know the reasons why I preach vegetarianism, why I am against slaughtering or eating of animal flesh, it may be a bird, a four legged animals, fish or any kind of eggs. Even honey and undue use of milk is avoided by me. WHY? IS THE QUESTION Brother, my reasons are as under: 1. Islam was introduced to us by our Holy Prophet Mohammed(peace will always be upon him). He was a hardcore vegetarian. Even small children who read the life history of the Prophet knows , when the Holy Prophet moved away from Mecca to Medina, he did this under great hardship for several days through the dessert and the jungles and on the way he lived on cooked leaves. He never slaughtered any animals during this transit period. He cautioned everyone that meat of animals are intoxicating like wine and also told his followers that they should not turn their stomach into a grave of dead animals. 2. Islam...

Film Analysis: Food Inc.

...Food Inc. was undoubtedly the most effective to convince me to change all my habits that involve food. Food Inc. displayed images and footage of how the mass food production industry really is. This industry is absolutely disgusting and disturbing. Massive herds of cattle born in a factory just to be fattened and slaughtered. The film showed how the big meat and other kinds of everyday food industries bully farmers into doing whatever the corporations want. The film reveals the corruptive and elusive tactics of these industries through their lawsuits and contracts. The film displays the food industry for what it is; a mob like business. The film shows the conditions of the mass product farms for different products alike. Animals being the...

The reader knows that Mary killed Patrick. However, the officers do not recognize this, and eat the meat, which is the evidence. “The woman stayed where she was listening to them speaking among themselves, their voices thick and sloppy because their mouths were full of meat,” (9). This shows situational Irony, because we know they are eating the weapon, while they believe it is a leg of lamb. Irony makes this interesting, and leads to Mary not being caught for...

Odysseus Kill The Suitors In Homer's Odyssey

...A deity falling in love with him, a sorceress trying to turn him into an animal, and a cyclop eating his men and cursing him are few of the things Odysseus goes through in The Odyssey. First written in the 8th century, The Odyssey is an epic written by Homer. The Odyssey tells the story of a war hero named Odysseus who is trying to get home after successfully defeating Troy. When he finally lands on his island, Ithaca, after 20 gruesome years Odysseus is greeted by 108 suitors trying to wed his wife, plotting to kill his only son, and living in his palace like they own it. Odysseus retaliates by killing all of the suitors. Even though it may seem like it was an inhumane thing to do, it’s clear Odysseus murdering the suitors was a just decision. To start with, the suitors were at fault because they were planning on killing Odysseus’s only son, Telemachus. Killing his only son meant that Odysseus would not have an heir to take over his throne and land. This gives the suitors more chances of becoming the king. In the text, it states, “Moreover, they are plotting to murder Odysseus’s son, Telemachus, before he can inherit his...
