Current Marketing Situation The primary target market for UScoot is college students enrolled at Ole Miss. Parking on campus is getting worse and worse, and the situation is opening up a very large market for alternate transportation. Ole Miss is closing in on 20,000 students, and the university plans to continually increase enrollment, which will continually increase the size of UScoot’s target market. A secondary market for Uscoot will be campus employees. There are more than 2,500 Ole Miss employees, many of whom are searching for alternate transportation just as the students are, and as student enrollment rises, Ole Miss will have to employ even more people, and this will increase the size of the secondary market as well. Obviously, UScoot will available to anyone who wants to use the service, but the biggest portion of the business will definitely be centered around Ole Miss students. There are 38,000 residents in the city of Oxford, and these 38,000 residents represent the total market for UScoot. The size of the target market is between 15,000 and 20,000, which represents all students enrolled at the university. UScoot will only need to capture about 1% of this market to be profitable. It is not at all unreasonable to believe that UScoot can achieve this number of customers very quickly, and the potential for growth past that number is excellent as well. Enrollment will continue to rise, and the popularity of UScoot is bound to increase as more and more people learn about the business, so the target market will be constantly expanding.
Since there is no direct competition (It is the only business of its kind in Oxford.), the competition will come from substitutes. The closest substitute is Ole Miss Bike, which is the campus bike rental store. Scooters hold an obvious advantage over bicycles because they are faster, and they don’t require any manpower. Bicycles are more cost efficient, but it is very likely that students will spend more for the convenience of having the scooter.
The second substitute is the O.U.T. buses, which is the free transporation offered by the university to students who live off-campus. However, many students dislike the bus system because of the unreliable bus schedule, the crowding on the buses (which is at its worst during the fall and spring semesters), and the overall time it takes to get from your residence to the campus. Some of the bus routes only run at certain times of the day, which leaves some students either stranded on campus, and forces others to walk or ride a bicycle.
In summary, there is a very large market open for UScoot, and the market is going to continually increase in size. UScoot will provide a faster and more effective mode of transportation to students and campus employees, as well as anyone else who wants to utilize this business. It is very likely that UScoot will interest a substantial amount of the target market upon its opening, and the popularity is sure to increase over time.

The purpose of this research is to provide us significant ideas about real learning styles, study skills and thinking skills in analyzing some neither questions nor problems that we don’t know and to improve and enhance our memory in studying some lessons in a book. It also improves us to organize our studies, express our ideas clearly and effectively and how to communicate with others clearly and fluently. One of the network problems is network instability. For example, I have to research some information about my assignment, because my first language is not English, I always research more academic information after class or look up the unknown words in an online dictionary. However, I have to connect the UB network approximately every five minutes. I was really bothered by the unstable network here. This action which is frequently loggeing on to the internet makes my learning efficiency lower, because I cannot focus on the studying. The unstable network not only bothered me, but also bothers my friends. There are a statistic for this issue. My four friends...

That strategy doesn’t work at all in math! Because everything builds, if you don’t understand A you will probably not understand B and C either. If this happens in class, ask a question right away. Don’t apologize and don’t worry about looking stupid; probably other people have exactly the same question. Outside of class, use the Baker Center tutors or talk through the problem with your study buddy. Visit your instructor during office hours or make an appointment for another time. Warm up before the event. Before class, look back over the readings and your homework. Make sure you are ready with any questions. Stay in training. Review your notes after class, even rewrite them to make sure you understand everything. If there are several days between classes, review the material at least every other day to keep it fresh in your mind. Make sure you train enough. The College recommends 2–3 hours per classroom hour, but you may need more. Recognize especially that in the summer you’re making a big time commitment. If your class meets five days a week for an hour and 40 minutes a day, that’s two 50-minute classroom hours, which means you should expect to study 4–6 hours per night, every...

How to Be a Successful College Student

...my head. The best way and the only one to obtain knowledge is by studying. Study habits are one of the essential tools that I must obtain or enhance in order to be successful. It’s not something that can be brushed off. Having a good study habit, avoiding distraction, and having a strong resolve has lead me to accomplishing my first semester here at TC3. When tackling assignments I had to make sure to plan well in advance; break down projects into manageable chunks, and setting goals along the way. Completing homework and class readings on time and avoid waiting until the last minute for important deadlines. Studying involves reading the textbooks, understand them, being able to explain it to others and sometimes memorize the most important concepts. It is important to have a special place and a special time to study. I try to find a peaceful place and also try to study during the times that work best. While studying, I also use this time to do the homework and assigned reading. I still need to learn to be good on time management skills. Learning to balance school, family and social life is one of the most important things to learn and I am still struggling...

...is to clear up some concepts regarding the three types of college students. One group, The Jocks, is the show-off type of people who puts off their homework assignments until the last minute. Once the assignment is completed at the last minute, the assignment is usually scored a low grade. The reason for this is because the jocks are always partying, going out on dates, or having fun with their sorority. The jocks wear anything to include torn jeans/shirts, work down sneakers or boots and cheap, expensive-looking jacket. The second group, known campus-wide, is the nerds because they are obsessed with books, constantly studying and learning about their interests. The nerds are usually annoying with their obnoxious laughter regarding a really stupid joke. The nerds wear a nice shirt with a bow tie, or a tie and a nicely ironed dress pants and always has a pocket protector to prevent ink stains from their pens. The nerd spends their school night with a tight schedule for recreation, school homework, and learning new things that captures their interests. Computer programming, calculator programming, the biology of their pet frog are some of the common things that interests the nerds. The third group is the normal group, they are usually typical college students attending their scheduled classes, getting the homework assignments done and turned in on time. The normal group is usually mothers/fathers that have hired baby sitters to watch their son(s)/daughter(s)...

Determinants of Study Habits

...performance. It takes a lot more than just studying to achieve a successful college career. Different stressors such as time management, financial problems, sleep deprivation, social activities, and for some students even having children, can all pose their own threat to a student’s academic performance as well as the hours they spend on studying (Womble, 2004). Study habits are the ways that students study- the habits that they have formed during their school years. Study habits can be good ones, or bad ones. Good study habits include being organized, keeping good notes, reading the textbook, listening in class, and working every day. Being organized means the student can easily access his or her school stuffs when at school or at home doing homework. Keeping good notes involves good organization of all the important details regarding his or her lessons not only of taking down it in the notebook but also when listening during the class. Being attentive and always busy at school reflects a student who has good study habits.   Bad study habits include skipping class, not doing their...

My Favorite Place on Campus

...Mr. Stephens Essay 1 September 9, 2013 My Favorite Place on Campus As I sit under the pavilion, I begin to recognize and appreciate how relaxing and refreshing the atmosphere around me truly is. Whether your purpose is to study, have fun or relax, the pavilion is the perfect place to do it. Many students agree that the best place on campus to study is under the pavilion. Other students say that they have had the most memorable experiences of their lives there. One of my absolute favorite places to study and do homework is underneath the pavilion. There, students will find themselves feeling peaceful and tranquil. When the birds and crickets chirp there is a soft and calming noise that echoes throughout the pavilion making one feel relaxed and serene. At times, studying can be extremely stressful, but with the wind blowing just right and the sounds of nature buzzing in my ear, I feel a sudden sense of peace. Focusing on schoolwork for long periods of time is a challenge for some students, but being under the pavilion helps most students unwind and focus on your goals. Students come to the pavilion on a regular basis, whether to play games or to simply have a conversation. It is a great place to gather with other people and to get to know fellow classmates a little bit better. Many of the relationships that form around OC will last a lifetime, and I can personally say that many of these connections and memories originate from under the pavilion’s roof. Some...
