Li-Fi Technology

...It is a visible light communication system that uses light from light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as a medium to deliver networked, (instead of radio frequency waves) that is part of the Optical Wireless Communications technologies, which carries much more information, and has been proposed as a solution to the RF-bandwidth limitations. Also deliver mobile, high-speed communication in a similar manner as Wi-Fi and is bidirectional. The Professor Harald Haas of the University of Edinburg and his team have made another breakthrough in Li-Fi by demonstrating that up to 1.1 Gbps can now be transmitted using light waves from micro LEDs over a distance of 10m using less than 0.5W power. This proves the point that lights can be dimmed down while high data rates and coverage are maintained. ...Reflection Paper- Yoga Soccer is one of my greatest passions. I play in three outside of school leagues. I play one game on Monday and two on Fridays. My sophomore year in high school I decided to try out for the soccer team and it change my future plans completely. After playing soccer for Edinburg North High school, I understood that I wanted to become a soccer coach. Currently, in college I started my Kinesiology curriculum and I have learned many things about the benefits of being physically fit. Aside from soccer, I enjoy getting involved in many other fitness activities. Some of the activities I like to be involved in are rock climbing, flag football, and running. This semester I decided to take the yoga class as an elective. I really liked that we got to learn many yoga poses that were easy to learn step by step, and that we can practice at home. Something I really is that we also learned many pilates poses. I can’t think of anything that I disliked this class was motivating to me in many ways. I loved the extra credit that was offered, and it makes us, the students, want to keep on doing this activities. I had never tried to do yoga before, but I had heard that it was very helpful for your body, mind, and soul. I didn’t engaged in yoga because ignorantly I felt it was not going to benefit me at all. At first, I was a bit skeptical about taking English 1301 this summer in an unknown university, but upon entering Ms. Sanchez’s English 1301 class, it opened my eyes. I had a whole new perspective in not only reading, but also on everyday life situations. The first two times I took English 1301, I was not fully understanding the concept of the text I was reading. ...One billion transistors, One Uniprocessor, One Chip Alma C. Ryan GS1145 ITT Technical Institute One billion transistors, One Uniprocessor, One Chip I read an article from University of Michigan 1997 about one billion transistors, one processor, one chip. It has 5 authors- Patt Y., Patel S., Evers M., Friendly D., and Stark J.. At beginning the authors, lead me to believe they were hesitant of the existent of the one billion transistors, one uniprocessor in one chip. They have comments such as, "A billion transistors on single chips presents opportunities for new levels of computing capability". The other comment was, "The basis design problem is partitioning". However, later on, after giving their suggestions, the authors seemed to agree on the released of the said chip. This article was written in 1997. Few years before the said chip was put in the market. This article discussed both pros and cons of the upcoming one chip. One of the pros was , "the uniprocessor will be high performance". Another pros was, "that this chip will have large trace cache, and large number of reservation stations". Additionally" this chip will also have a sufficient resolution and forwarding logic" another pros that the authors mentioned. But the authors mentioned more cons than pros. Some of the cons discussed were: "one billion transistors falls far short of an infinite number, the highest performance computing system will not...

Pricing Strategies

...Pricing Strategy: Ecaterina Curova Jason Geesey LCC International University November 13th, 2013 Pricing Strategy: Pricing is the moment of truth; it is when all of the company’s marketing and financing strategies really meet the final decision point with its customers (Kotler & Armstrong, 2012, p.314-315). “One of the key aspects of getting the financial control of the business is developing a pricing strategy for its particular market so the product or service can be sold properly” (“Developing a Pricing Strategy for Your Business,” 2010). If a company has a good pricing strategy for the financial basis and a good marketing strategy than it is very easy to sell the product (“Developing a Pricing Strategy for Your Business,” 2010). There are two ways of pricing the product or service in the market: value-based pricing and cost-based pricing. Value-based pricing is looking on how customers value the product and is basing the price on that (Kotler & Armstrong, 2012, p.315). If a medical engineer has a pill that costs him a dollar to make, however, it can cure cancer, customers are going to pay him a lot more money than one dollar for it. Businesses look at what value people put on their product and price it accordingly. On other side there is a cost-based pricing which looks at how much money a company has to spend to make their product and bases its cost on that (Kotler & Armstrong, 2012, p.319). There are a lot of different pricing strategies that are connected...
