Phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, phonics, along with text comprehension go with comprehensive literacy (Christie, 2013). Balanced Approach contains the meaning based methods and the skilled based methods. Meaning based courses offer children the chance to study literacy at their own speed and away from other people.
This way children can study at their speed through reading, oral language, and in writing. Skill based is information and a essential ability that students do need for reading, this also contains the ABCs, effortlessness, oral language, design, and also phonemic awareness. Having connections amongst educators and children, participating in group activities allows children to encounter more learning techniques and they are more inclined to want to learn more.
Students will start to comprehend what they are reading instead of just reading paragraphs and words that do not make sense to them. The Reading Workshop is a teaching technique in which the penalty area is to teach children approaches for reading and understanding. The workshop model permits educators to distinguish and meet the desires of all their children.

Anecdotal Notes. Anecdotal notes are teacher notes telling a child’s actions. Including the child’s name, the day, what area the child in the classroom the child was in, the exact event or product should be defined accurately as it was comprehended and heard. The data of 822 students who participated on a combined PRIMA and PIRLS 2001 study and PRIMA 2003 study were analyzed. The following student variables were considered for the model predicting Reading Literacy in grade 6: Nonverbal Intelligence, Home Reading Resources, Decoding, Language Comprehension, Mathematics, Reading Motivation, Academic Self-confidence and Reading Literacy in grade 4. The fit of the model was found to be good. The model explained 62% of the variance in Reading Literacy in Grade 6. The three school-learned skills that were entered in the model; Language, Decoding and Mathematics have proven to be important predictors for reading literacy. With respect to the two variables measuring attitudes, Reading Motivation and Academic Self-Confidence, it can be concluded that they contributed, either direct or indirect, to the prediction of reading literacy in grade 6, although they explained only a small part of the variance.
