Answer the following questions, using information from this week’s readings. Respond to each question in 100 to 200 words.

1. Briefly explain the five choices speakers can make. How do these elements determine a speech’s success or failure?
The five choices a speaker can make in a speech are invention, arrangement, style, delivery, and memory. Invention produces materials through research and judgment while arrangement shows how the information researched is organized. The style shows how the speaker presents the information or makes the speech memorable for the audience. Delivery is presenting the information in way that is not just talking to the audience but with them for instance making sound more on their level or making interactive where they can participate. Last is memory which help the audience remember the speech after it is over. Making the right choices with these elements would determine if a speech is successful because each element give the speaker the opportunity to adapt to the audience’s needs.
2. What role does the delivery method (e.g. online, video conferencing, face-to-face, conference room) play in constructing a presentation?
The delivery method depends on how to the speaker will give the speech. I think a face to face delivery would helps relax the speaker in this instance because there are only one pair on the person. In a larger group like a conference the speaker as many people paying attention to him or her and what the speaker has to say. Whereas if you the speaker decides to record the speech they time to practice and redo it until it where the speaker is happy with the end product. Video conferencing still allows the speaker the opportunity to practice but he or she does not have the ability to feel the audience because the only audience is the camera.

A workbook is a collection of one or more related worksheets contained within a single file; by default, new workbooks contain three worksheets (Grauer, Poatsy, Mulbery, Hulett, Krebs, & Mast, 2011). ...PURPOSE The purpose of this report is to geologically evaluate the potential hazards for flooding in Hazard City. This report will include a detailed historic and extrapolated Stream Gauge Data Worksheet, as well as a graph of the Discharge Frequency Curve expected on Clearwater River. The report will provide Hazard city with my scientific analysis, conclusions, and provide recommendations concerning potential flood damages. METHOLODOGY The methodology used was to utilize the Recurrence Interval formula (R) = (N+1)/M, to determine the recurrence interval and magnitude of historical floods provided on the Stream Gauge Data of Peak Flood Discharges on Clearwater River in Hazard City. Also, I reviewed the flood insurance map to determine areas of floodplains and I utilized the topographic map of Hazard City to compare with the flood insurance map and to make my own conclusions regarding the geographical areas at most risk. Lastly, I used the discharge-frequency curve data and graph to determine the discharge of a 75-year flood in Hazard City. DATA STREAM GAUGE AND DISCHARGE FREQUENCY CURVE YEAR DISCHARGE M R The data from the Stream Gauge Worksheet helped to prepare the Discharge-Frequency Curve. The Stream Gauge Data worksheet was also useful in determining the magnitude as well as to conclude the recurrence interval of each Peak Flood Discharge.
