High dive into frozen waves where the past comes back to life
Fight fear for the selfish pain, it was worth it every time
Hold still right before we crash 'cause we both know how this ends
A clock ticks 'til it breaks your glass and I drown in you again

'Cause you are the piece of me I wish I didn't need
Chasing relentlessly, still fight and I don't know why

If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?
If our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?

(Hey-ay, hey-ay-ay. Hey-ay, hey-ay-ay. Hey-ay, hey-ay-ay. Hey-ay, hey)

If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?
If our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?

Walk on through a red parade and refuse to make amends
It cuts deep through our ground and makes us forget all common sense
Don't speak as I try to leave 'cause we both know what we'll choose
If you pull then I'll push too deep and I'll fall right back to you

'Cause you are the piece of me I wish I didn't need
Chasing relentlessly, still fight and I don't know why

If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?
If our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?

(Hey-ay, hey-ay-ay. Hey-ay, hey-ay-ay. Hey-ay, hey-ay-ay. Hey-ay, hey)

Why are you my clarity?
Why are you my remedy?
Why are you my clarity?
Why are you my remedy?

If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?
If our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?

...Devin Fazio COM-121 Dan Glass 13 January 2016 Winter Interim Classes Reading Area Community College has added a new academic path for students who enjoy fast paced learning. These classes are offered between the larger breaks that are taken throughout the semesters. A winter, spring, and summer interim class are offered as an online or lecture class for about four weeks at a time. During these four weeks, a lot of information is covered. However, being a winter interim class, it still needs to meet the requirements for an average 15 week semester. Winter interim classes are beneficial for the academically fast paced students, who are highly motivated, eager to learn, and want to get a head start on their goal of graduating. All college courses are stressful but winter interim classes are especially stressful. Every other day in the course is a new week, with a new load of work, and a new assortment of questions. As progression happens throughout the course, students begin to notice that everything mentioned or taught, is valuable. There is no time for “fluff” information. As the semester shortens everyday students become motivated to do their work in a timely fashion. Students learn the consequences of procrastinate on their work, and start to develop more effective time management skills. Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Related to Assement of Knowledge Regarding Premenstrual Syndrome

...INTRODUCTION What we ought to see in the agonies of puberty is the result of the conditioning that maims the female personality in creating the feminine. - Germaine Greer The word adolescence is taken from the Latin word “adolescere” which means "to grow up”. Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical, sex and mental human development generally occurring between puberty and legal adulthood, but largely characterized as beginning and ending with the teenage stage. The onset of adolescence is usually associated with the commencement of puberty and the appearance of secondary sex characteristics. The pituitary gland secretes hormones that stimulate enlargement and development of the sex organs, which thus become capable of reproduction. In females the reproductive cycle of ovulation and menstruation begins, pubic hair appears, and development of the breasts and other body contours takes place.1 During this phase of transition from childhood, adolescents are often confused about the physical and emotional changes in their bodies and feel hesitant and embarrassed to discuss them with anyone. Therefore adolescence is a critical period which influences one’s reproductive health and well-being throughout life. Adolescent girls are especially vulnerable to the biological and social changes taking place during this time and their effects, owing to the existing inequity...

...techniques still work with the new issues in our educational system. It is obviously that the evaluation of teaching effectiveness in the past it is different from the current evaluation process because there are certain factors are important to be included in the evaluation of teaching effectiveness. These factors are as the criteria for the evaluating of educational effectiveness. Some of these factors still work as a criterion for the evaluation process. While, the other factors have to be excluded from the evaluation and not to be given as much weight. Therefore, the main goal of this study is to ask administrators about which items still valid until the now and have to be included in the evaluation process and which of these items are invalid to be an evaluation criterion. Yet the nation still lacks a practical set of standards and assessments that can guarantee that teachers, particularly new teachers, are well prepared and ready to teach. This report discusses a promising approach to the question of how to measure teacher effectiveness. Specifically, it describes the ways in which assessments of teacher performance for licensing and certification can both reflect and predict teachers’ success with children so that they can not only inform personnel decisions, but also...

Why Students Matter

...in some cases students who pass through such teachers, especially in terms of emulating their life styles, tend to exhibit behaviors that are detestable by the society Teacher effectiveness influences students’ academic performance. It is not however, very easy to investigate the area of effectiveness in teaching because many hold the view that the concept has. Even, from among those who hold the views that teacher quality should be assessed by student outcomes however, arguments could be made for an emphasis on different types of student outcomes. Teacher quality can be gauged by short- term outcomes such as students’ performance on state standardized tests at the end of the period prescribed for a given academic programs.  Long-term outcomes may be much more difficult to measure but some might argue that the best teachers are those who somehow improve students’ educational trajectories in some important ways. In other words, teacher quality is multi-dimensional and complex in nature and can be measured. Perkins (1974) said that, there is little or no agreement on the criteria that should be used for judging effectiveness in teaching or on how the effectiveness of teaching can be measured. He however, agreed that it is only when the various approaches used to define and measure teaching effectiveness are examined that one would be able to gain a clearer understanding of the concept. Advocating the various ways to measure...

Curriculum Objectives Paper

...Teaching Strategies NUR 588 August 5, 2012 Kelly Martin, Facilitator Teaching Strategies Nursing education is a key component to keep nursing practice relevant to the health needs and also to the expectations of society. Nurses provide an essential part of health care in most health care setting. Education, training, and experience are constantly changing and enhancing learning for students, enriching lives with knowledge. Educators have an important role in learning. They have to keep up with developments in the specific specialties, literatures, and the practice. They are responsible to educate new, and experience nurses, and students, and therefore have to master education. The goal of education is to instill in learners the academic and moral knowledge that should constitute those ‘essential things that a mature adult needs to know in order to be a productive member of society’ (Cowles, Strickland, Rodgers & Beth, 2001). Developing curriculum objectives is an important task, and it should be seen as an ongoing process. It is an essential process for the educational goals to be successful. Systematic approach is important when developing curriculum for students, and health care professionals. Different components should be carefully reviewed, and considered: staff, students, community needs, and readiness. It is important to specifics of the institution and involves the key subject in the process of education. Objective ...

Her support and guidance at every stage was highly instrumental in our progress. We would also like to thank Ms.Shindya, Teaching Assistant for scheduling meetings with Prof. Deepa The resources available from our library were extremely useful for our literature study. Most importantly, we thank the students for their time and co-operation in filling our survey Executive Summary The effectiveness of PowerPoint as a teaching aid was observed since its introduction in 1997. In the initial years, the response from the students was highly positive. This could be acknowledged from the higher grades, increase in attendance and reduction in disruptive behaviour, when compared to other mediums like the blackboard and transparent overheads. But, there was also a study which showed that the students’ performance depended on the difficulty of the lecture and not on the medium of teaching. Still, the positive...

Classroom Management

...DESIGNING A MIXED-METHOD STUDY This symposium reflects on a the two-year (2006-2008), ESRC-funded, multi-disciplinarystudy which used an integrated mixed-method design. The project investigated variations in teachers‟ classroom practice, and relationships with professional life phase, identity and school context (using value-added pupil attainment scores as indicators of schools‟ overall academic effectiveness) , which builds on and extends a four-year longitudinal research study (Day et al, 2006). The study sought to identify key factors that contribute to effective teaching and pupil outcomes in primary and secondary phases of schooling in a sample of 83 effective teachers (45 primary and 38 secondary), 39 school leaders, and approximately 3000 pupils from 39 schools in England. The project had three main aims: (1) To describe, analyse and explain the variation in primary and secondary school teachers‟ classroom behaviours and practice using two different observational instruments, detailed field notes and pupil and teachers‟  perceptions, focusing on English and mathematics teaching; (2) To explore typical and more effective classroom practice of teachers in Years 2, 6 and 9, across different school contexts, professional life phases and ages in relation to observation of practice and professional, situated and/or personal factors which are perceived to affect observed practice over time; and, (3) To draw out implications from the findings of (1) and (2)above for policymakers...

...U I D E T O TEACHING ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION INTRODUCTION NEED FOR THE GUIDE The Teaching Assessment and Evaluation Guide provides instructors with starting-points for reflecting on their teaching, and with advice on how to gather feedback on their teaching practices and effectiveness as part of a systematic program of teaching development. As well, the Guide provides guidance on how teaching might be fairly and effectively evaluated, which characteristics of teaching might be considered, and which evaluation techniques are best suited for different purposes. The Teaching Assessment and Evaluation Guide is a companion to the Teaching Documentation Guide (1993), also prepared by the Senate Committee on Teaching and Learning (SCOTL). The Documentation Guide (available at the Centre for the Support of Teaching and on the SCOTL website) aims to provide instructors with advice and concrete suggestions on how to document the variety and complexity of their teaching contributions. Teaching is a complex and personal activity that is best assessed and evaluated using multiple techniques and broadly-based criteria. Assessment for formative purposes is designed to stimulate growth, change and improvement in teaching through reflective practice. Evaluation, in contrast, is used for summative purposes to give an overview of a particular instructor’s teaching in a particular course and setting. Informed judgements on teaching effectiveness can best be made...
