In today's world quality management appears to be an important business practice where managers and business owners can learn on how to improve business operations and how to make the business more effective. By implementing quality management, businesses have been able to increase sales and improve the services. Though the approaches to determining quality issues vary, the goal of every business remains the same to generate a high quality, high-executing product or service that conforms to and passes the customers' expectations (The Importance of Quality Management, 2010). The following paper will describe the concept of quality management and the effect of a domestic market and a global market. The companies that will be used are American Airlines which operates domestically and Lufthansa which operates globally.

For many years American Airline and Lufthansa have been dominant airline companies within their industries. Regardless of the global economy these companies have been able to perform well and continue to maintain positive operations and services. What these two companies have in common is the implementation of Total Quality Management. The processes that are used during the implementation of Total Quality Management are the following.

1.Both companies use a quality control program to construct a successful service process. Detailed policies and plans that affect all managers are also being implemented

2.Both companies use a comprehensive evaluation program that helps management in evaluating the product and service. This evaluation process is based out of the companies budget service needs.

3.Management develops a program that dictates the selection of appropriate measures, review plan and checking out process. This program is arranged by middle management and is then approved by the uppermost
