Writers block is a very common thing that can happen to anyone at any given point. Here are to strategies that I believe can help me at any given point. The first one is writing an email to a friend or even to you. The second one is to stop procrastinating; I find that a lot of people, even myself, are a big victim to this one.
When it comes down to writing an email to a friend or yourself, I feel this is a great strategy because if your mind does go blank you have templates to return too at any given point. On top of that if you do lose any of your writings it is always good to have a second copy not backed up on your computer. It can be on your phone or on a good friend’s computer.
My other selection is procrastination. There are a lot of people out there that are the biggest victims of this. I feel the best way to avoid this is to just jump into it. Start whatever writing you’re doing immediately while it is fresh in your mind. When you wait to get your writing started it is no longer fresh in your mind.
The two strategies I love to use when I feel like I am running blank are talking to my family and playing on my phone for a little. Talking to my family always helps and I feel this will be a benefit in the future is just due to how much my family helps me and give me good suggestions every time I go blank. My phone is a weird on and people would think it is more of a distraction, but it’s not. My phone is a little bit of a getaway. When I start to get stressed about my writing I go to my phone and its games to get my mind off my troubles. This is what keeps me calm whether it is present or

Analyzing Paragraphs

...Latoya L. Brown EN1320 – Composition I Unit 3 Exercise 1. * After reading the new TV guide this week I had just one thought—why are we still being bombarded with reality shows? This season, (1. the plague of reality television continues to darken our airwaves). {Along with} the return of viewer favorites, we are to be cursed with yet another mindless creation. Prisoner follows the daily lives of eight suburban housewives who have chosen to be put in jail for the purposes of this fake psychological experiment. A preview for the first episode shows the usual tears and tantrums associated with reality television. I dread to think what producers will come up with next season, but if any of them are reading this blog—stop it! We’ve had enough reality television to last us a lifetime! * Last year, (1. a cat traveled 130 miles to reach its family), who had moved to another state and had left their pet behind. {Even though} it had never been to their new home, the cat was able to track down its former owners. (2. A dog in my neighborhood can predict when its master is about to have a seizure). It makes sure that he does not hurt himself during an epileptic fit. Compared to many animals, our own senses are almost dull. * For many years, I suffered from severe anxiety every time I took an exam. (1.Hours before the exam, my heart would begin pounding, my legs would shake, and sometimes I would become physically unable to move.) Last year, I was referred to a specialist...

Unit 3 Assignment 2-Reflection on Essay Wriiting

...Reflections on Essay Writing EN 1320 Composition 1 Class 8 Oct 2014 Unit 3 Assignment 2: Refelerctions on Essay Writing EN1320 Where to start; to explain about what I have learned about writing in composition 1 class. I have always been a pretty good writer, I think. As long as I like the genre that I’m writing on, I can usually produce a good product. Composition one has helped me slower but surely, I think it will just take a little more time. This class has helped me considering it is only the fourth week of class. I guess my style of writing is; I believe I’m a prewritter, most of the time. First, I get all my source material together, I read and outline said materials and I just start writing. I do the same thing that I’ve always done through my entire US Air Force career. It’s how I approach all my writing assignments and I’ve got proficient at it. In the Air Force, I wrote for subordinates or troops, their EPRs (Enlisted Performance Reports). I always used this approach when I wrote metals, awards and disciplinary reports on someone actions. I would start with few bullet statements or what you would call brief statements on accomplishments. I would start with some short bulleted statements and expound on them. I’ve had a few good supervisors in the Air Force that taught me how to write. They have told me, it doesn’t matter what comes out when you write, just get it down. I have used this lot and I got pretty good at it, for example when an accident occurred...

Healthcare and Immigration

...National Healthcare and Immigration Roberto Macedo ITT Tech Mr. Berndt EN1320 Composition I Healthcare and Immigration What is healthcare? Healthcare is a service that is supposed to be provided to a country’s citizens that the U.S., for some reason, cannot get right (shocker!). Meanwhile, Canada has no problem handing medical care to its citizens for free, that’s right free. Why can’t the U.S. be as caring as Canada? On a side note I hope they take Bieber back. The people (the ones that aren’t fanatically crazy for him because of raging teenage hormones) of the U.S. do not want his presence here and no longer will we the people suffer from headaches due to his annoyance. No longer will important political or non-political events that are being streamed by news media (by which news stations consider “breaking news”) be interrupted. At this very moment my family and I have no medical insurance, thus resulting in $3000 of medical bills that I am not paying simply put “because I don’t feel like paying 3 grand for a f**king checkup that tells me my spouse has depression problems once every so often, it’s a given.” What I do know for sure is my son is eligible for Nevada Checkup; however, seeing that the online healthcare system that was supposed to make applying for medical insurance so easy for all of its U.S. citizens just happened to be in a few nice words “a piece of s**t!” My son (who is turning one this 24th of February) still has no insurance. I have been...

Examples: two boys' hats two women's hats two actresses' hats two children's hats the Changs' house the Joneses' golf clubs the Strauses' daughter the Sanchezes' artwork the Hastingses' appointment the Leeses' books Rule 5 Do not use an apostrophe for the plural of a name.
