Imagine a situation as if you were put in a small dark box and you are trying to escape, but no one is willing to help you. This was the exact situation that Ender was placed in. The book and the movie, Ender's Game, are about a boy named Ender who was “born” to save the world. Ender was isolated throughout his life to make him mentally stronger. At the end of the story, he destroys the whole alien race and saves the world. While the book and the movie have a similar story, the book is much better than the movie because the book conveys the story with more depth. One similarity between the book and the movie is that they both have Ender destroy the Bugger race without him knowing. This is important because Ender does something that he would never do if he knew it was real. There is a better view of this scene in the book because Ender is shocked and tries to sleep it off, unlike in the movie where he runs away and starts screaming. Another similarity between the book and the movie is that there is a strong relationship between Valentine and Ender. The book does a better job of describing the relationship because there are many instances in the book where Ender misses Valentine. Finally, the last similarity between the book and the movie is that the Buggers were not the ones that were attacking; it was the humans that were attacking. One of the main differences in the movie is Ender’s age. In the book, Ender goes to the battle school when he is six years old and then he goes through many hardships to become a good commander. In the movie, Ender is already an older kid, so we never really get to see the troubles Ender faced in his childhood. This makes it feel like Ender didn't have to work hard to win the battle against the Buggers. Another difference in between the two is that the role of Peter and Valentine is cut out of the movie. The roles of Peter and Valentine were really important parts of Ender's life. The book effectively showed the importance of Ender’s siblings because they influence Ender in a big way. Ender does not want to be violent because he doesn’t want to be like Peter and Valentine is the person that convinces Ender going on through the battle school and the Command school.
