Who does not love white sand between their toes or floating in warm crystal water? Punta Cana has a beautiful beach with breathtaking sights where people from around the world can escape from the chaos of the city and find the peace that one deserves. Located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic is my favorite vacation spot. Fat Sand Beach is a beautiful beach with breathtaking sights. This beach is an ideal getaway for families, friends, and couples seeking relaxation and outdoor adventure. Fat Sand beach is so peaceful that help me forget all the pressures and worries of life. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deep blue sea, admiring the ocean is filled with many colors and amazing marine life.

Certainly Fat Sand Beach is a beautiful place for relaxing. The combination of blue water and the fresh air gives people the best feeling of calm. The sound of waves splashing gently on the shore is one of the most stress free feelings I have ever experienced. Lying on the beach under warm sun, the spectacular sky, and the breeze touching my face is just some of the gifts nature gives us . The water reminds me of crystals sparkling water when the sun is reflecting on it, and walking around the beach barefoot brings back fillings of freedom that the city cannot give.

A beach vacation is great because it gets anyone away from the routines of life . Particularly children, they can build the most amazing memories in Fat Sand beach. The children can spend days on end simply enjoying the beach, the water, and lazy time together with the parents as well as participating in many activities that several hotels and excursions centers offer around that area, such as water sports in the ocean, playing volleyball or Frisbee on the shore. This beach is a wonderland for all ages.

There is nowhere in the world quite like this. This beach has gorgeous sand and very calm water, provided by a natural reef. It is by far my most relaxing and inspirational place to be because I feel connected with nature, bringing to my mind peace . Whether to have fun in the sun, or relax while reading a good book, this beach is the place to go. The Fat Sand beach is an unforgettable place that one must witness in their lifetime . ...Television Is Affecting Children Negatively Larry Hering ENGL 101-B25 June 18, 2012 Gerald Spence Abstract Television and television advertising are effectively altering the way children think, act, and interact. Sedentary lifestyles are thought to be synonymous with watching too much television and childhood obesity has become a major issue in the United States. With all of the data and recommendations showing the negative affect television is causing, parents are in control of the issue right in their own homes. All that is needed is for them to assume responsibility. Television Is Affecting Children Negatively Over the last thirty years obesity has tripled in children ages 5 and up (Eaton, 2010). It is an epidemic that needs to be addressed in order to regain health among the nation’s children. While there is clearly more than one factor, technology has to take a major part of the blame along with parents. Children are spending too much time watching television and using systems such as Play Station and X-box. Computers are another source that takes away from activity Sedentary lifestyles are taking the place of wholesome activity-based play. Notice this child is sitting approximately three feet from the television and still uses a remote (see his left hand). His only activity appears to be eating potato chips and drinking soda. This image could be from any home in the country as sedentary lifestyles have become common. -based fun. Sedentary......

...Kien Nguyen Essay #2 07/31/2013 ENGL 100F/ 18:30-21:50/ M-T Chris Andrews An Emoticons Era Nowadays, with the non-stop developments of socioeconomics, it is an undeniable truth that technologies and social networks are playing a vital role in our daily life. We have come to the new era of communication when people can contact each other everywhere, at every moment. Thus, technologies are now the dominant factor in our communication today, since we have such an exceptional access to information and people. Truly, geographic limitation is now destroyed in terms of communication. However, we are becoming more ignorant about how these technologies are affecting our life every day. We are abusing these communicating methods without acknowledging that our life and our own personalities are being spoiled. As a consequence, these technologies are bringing the lacks of social interaction, distraction, and the decayed expression of languages and emotions. The rise of technologies is leading to the collapse of our communication. Technologies are ruining social interaction among humans. Without a doubt, technologies have dominated our choices of interacting with each other. While the purpose of technologies was to improve the communication between humans, people now prefer using these tools to talk, rather than face-to-face conversations. In fact, human civilization has been always developed based on the connection between people, but now, we are losing that real connection in......

...that Nancy Drew was just a female take on Hardy Boys. However, no matter male or female, we see that they all have one thing in common: there are no Asian male/female characters that have been used as a fictional detective character. The television series “Elementary” challenges this key assumption that has been ingrained into Americans and casts an Asian actress as Watson. Contrasting the popular depiction of Watson as the laughingstock of the show, “Elementary” transforms this character to become the right hand man of Sherlock Holmes. So much so that Holmes not only has his full trust in Watson, but also believes, and points out in multiple occasions, that Holmes works better with the company and second perspective of Watson. In the final episode of the first season, Holmes further emphasized the intelligence of Watson by telling Irene/Moriarty that it was Watson who had managed to see through her. The character of Watson in “Elementary” challenges our society’s perception of not only a female in power, but an Asian female in power, with a high level of intelligence, working in a field that has seen very little openness to Asians. Another aspect which the television hit series “Elementary” challenges is the power of females or feminism in our current society. The series challenges this by changing two distinct characters in the story of “Sherlock Holmes”: 1) Lucy Liu, an Asian American, as Watson, which was originally a white male, and 2) Natalie Dormer as both Irene......

...Final Essay Exam As everyone knows, education is the key to success, even though there might be some challenges. I personally was able to find one of those challenges which unfortunately I was not able to overcome. For the first time in my junior year of college I had failed a class. After seeing the letter “F” as one of my grades, I knew at that point that I had to work twice as hard from previous years if I wanted to make up for it. Now, that I’m about to register for my senior year is where I start to realize that failing a class does make you fall behind. In order to make up for the class that I failed, I will be taking six classes for next semester. As you can see, education has shaped my life; it has taught me that there is no time to waste. One of the hardest things that education has to offer to students I would say is reading. Not everyone has the time to sit or lie down and read a book. I am one of those students that do not like to read because it does not catch my attention. The only time that I do read is when the professors assigns it to me. However, when I do read those readings, I always learn new things such as, what has and could happen in real life. For instance, the book that I identify with is Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza by Gloria Anzalduá. In her writing she shows us a new direction that women need to take in order to free themselves psychologically, spiritually, and sexually. Furthermore, Anzalduá argues that as a result of the......

...The Final Essay Assignment  The Prompt As we’ve discussed all semester long, the final essay for our class will involve some research. The first part of this assignment sheet sets up the prompt and the essay’s required elements. One of the things you’ll notice about this assignment is that elements of it are modeled off of previous assignments. This is deliberate, as they’ve given you practice at this type of argumentation. This special topic section of English Composition II has focused upon the horror genre as practiced by American writers. We’ve read and discussed several works from horror authors over the course of the nation’s history, and considered in-depth longer fiction from the 20th Century horror icon Shirley Jackson. We’ve also delved into popular culture, examining comic books and, time permitting, television shows and movies. For this essay, you’ll be asked to pick another horror story (see The Topic section for some ideas) to add to this course’s discussion. In the interest of time, I suggest a short story, but you could read a novel for this project as well. More specifically, your essay should do the following things: (1) Provide your readers unfamiliar with your chosen text some context about the work, including a brief summary of the story. Likely, this would occur in your first support paragraph after your introduction. (2) Review the story. This is your opportunity to argue......

Engl 100 Classification Essay

...Classification Essay "Three types of friends’ women should have" Women are more multifaceted than ever, having different responsibilities such as careers, a spouses, children and adult students. In order to maintain her sanity a woman should have an inner circle of different friends, Proverbs 18:24 says “ a man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” a woman should be wise when selecting friends. Every woman should have a confidant, a motivator, and a spiritual friend as part of their support system. First the confidant friend, most women love a good conversation and enjoy it even more when there is no restrictions. A trustworthy friend is the friend that a woman will be able to express herself freely with and know that her secrets will remain safe. Being loyal is being nonjudgmental, regardless of the situation it will be an unconditional friendship. Above all, the loyal friend is easy going, most times this friend is like Proverbs 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." Next in order is the motivator who will see what a woman is capable of becoming. The motivator is successful in most areas of their life because they are able to push past limits. This friend is very positive they see everything that will go right as opposed to focusing on the negative. Particularly the motivator is essential because this friend will instill in a woman that discipline is the key to......

Engl 102 Fiction Essay

...ENGL 102 Fiction Essay Liberty University Online Micheal McIntosh Fiction Essay The first of the two stories I chose to compare and contrast is titled “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson and the second story is titled “The Rocking-Horse Winner” by D.H. Lawrence. I will compare each of their themes, characters, and plot developments in which they are both similar and different. One of the strongest comparison would be that both stories deal with the subject of luck in one sense or another. The Lottery being considered a game of chance in which luck plays an important factor in being the chosen winner but Luck in the Lottery has a different twist of fate because the winner of the Lottery is actually the loser and the chosen loser in the Lottery is actually stoned to death. In the Rocking-Horse Winner, luck is portrayed vacantly by a woman who was actually unlucky when it came to ordinary circumstances in life, an example of this would be the phrase that often echoed through the home, “There must be more money” and the woman’s statement that she wasn’t lucky because she had married an unlucky husband. Further on in the story luck shifts into a different mode towards the male child of the woman in regards to his Rocking Horse being an actual winner in a Horse Race. Luck in the Lottery has a twist of fate though because the winner of the Lottery was actually the loser and the one that was chosen in the Lottery was actually stoned to death. There...

Both male and female students were studied and observed, they were asked to do multiple things to see the growth or the lack there of. 2. ...sooner, instead of waiting until Oedipus had settled into his role as King, married the Queen, and had children. The end of Oedipus shows the plot elements that Aristotle stated for what makes a tragedy. The reversal in the plot of Oedipus was when it seemed that the messenger was going to going to give facts that affirmed that Locasta and Laius were not Oedipus’ real parents. Once Oedipus finds out the truth of his parentage, he learns the truth of the role in the prophecy that was prophesized to both him and his father. This is the recognition part of the plot that Aristotle refers to, because now Oedipus recognizes his true origins and that the prophecy did indeed come true. After this point he gauges his eyes out and this is seen as his final fall from glory. With the truth out and Oedipus now blind, Creon is now the one who is in charge. This is the suffering part of the plot. The play Oedipus by Sophocles is the epitome of Aristotle’s definition of what tragedy is and Oedipus is the perfect example of a tragic hero. The plot and characters all showed examples of what Aristotle felt defined a tragedy. The character Oedipus was a tragic hero in every sense. His flaws and honest character drive you to feel his pain as the truth is finally revealed in the end. This truth ultimately leads to his downfall and the ruin of the whole family. A good amount of Oedipus’ downfall can be blamed on him but not all of it. Some of the fault seems to lie with the will of the gods. He......

...English 1001- Rhetorical Analysis Essay: You Deserved Rejection! Or At Least Your Essay Did… In the article, “To (All) the Colleges That Rejected Me”, Suzy Lee Weiss addresses a multitude of reasons why she believed herself along with others were not accepted into various colleges. Published on March 29, 2013, it is one of many articles Weiss has contributed to The Wall Street Journal. The Wall Street Journal viewed at wsj.com is a business focused, English language international newspaper based in New York City where her article is placed under the commentary. It is clear from the essay that being rejected from her dream school was her kairos event that prompted and gave her the motivation for this writing that is important to her. Weiss--a senior at Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh—has written this among many other articles posted in the NY Daily News and others. Presenting her thesis early in her article, Weiss creates a foundation for the six arguments she establishes in defense for her claim that colleges lied to her; however, due to her lack of specific examples, statistics, and false claims, she fails to support her argument sufficiently. In her article, Weiss strengthens her ethos and logos drawing in on her very own feelings and thoughts for the varied audience of wsj.com. With her supporting evidence, she entreats the viewers to realize the devastation caused by Ivy League colleges telling applicants to “Just be yourself”. She goes on to claim......

Top 100 Essay

...Top 100 Essay Upon examining the world, one will find many great people who have shaped the one we live in today. Despite the significance of them all, it is important to be able to narrow them down to a list of one hundred or so. From there, the true test is to be able to tell which person had a bigger effect on our state of being than the other. Starting with a list that has already been compiled, this essay will rank each historical figure by their impact on the world. (Please note that this list was compiled based on a western perspective.) Topping the list at #1 is Muhammad. As the Prophet of Islam, Muhammads, s.a.w, teachings have reached and inspired many societies and their people. His teachings also indicate the best way to think and therefore live. At #2 is Jesus Christ, whose place as the central figure of Christianity has impacted the lives of his believers, all 2 billion of them (give or take). His existence has lead to the many holidays and churches that occupy mainly, western society. At #3 is Gautama Buddha, who is the spiritual teacher and founder of Buddhism. ...Elizabeth Ramos ENGL 1301 Teresa Trevathan Dec. 12, 2014 Television’s Best Moments Television has provided many moments where audiences held their breaths, cheered out loud, got up and danced, or sat there and cried. From the appearance of Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show to the question of “Who shot J.R.?” on Dallas, we have been riveted to the set, watching avidly and discussing what we had seen with others. One series, M*A*S*H, provided one of TV’s best moments with its final episode, titled “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen.” Though this particular episode featured many great moments, the best one would be when Hawkeye Pierce was talking to Dr. Sidney Freedman in a mental hospital. The doctor was trying to discover why Pierce had a mental breakdown, while Pierce was having difficulty in remembering what had happened. Pierce finally recalls that the bus he and others were riding had to pull over to the side of the road to hide from an enemy patrol. Hawkeye yells at a woman to keep her chicken from squawking, fearful that the enemy would find them, only to be stunned when the woman smothers her chicken while trying to keep it quiet. The audience is just as horrified as Hawkeye when he realizes the woman didn’t smother a chicken; she smothered her infant child. This finale episode aired in 1983, and it remained the most watched episode in the history of television until 2010. When looking at modern day programming, the AMC original show Breaking Bad has provided moments on...

...HSS – 901 (24587) Final Exam (Essay) Comment & Discuss the following Raising awareness at the progress the UN has achieved “gives depth to our perception of our own time in history, and makes us better able to see where paths to more progress may be open…” (Leif Wenar) – New York Times – 15 February 2016) The article by Leif Wenar is a very good piece that directs a picture of humanity in the past and present. 1. There are many artists, musicians, writers, poets, etc. alive today than there have been in history yet we complain about the quality going down in every field just because we do not immediately find such talent present amongst us. 2. Technology these days is taken for granted by the youth (for example, the invention of smartphone) which if we see, is a magical object in the human history that kingdoms would have gone to war for. 3. The vital point left out to be discussed is the invention of birth control. Each woman has a right to choose when she wants a child. Birth control is important in overcoming problems such as over population, climate change, etc. We need such essays to give us an insight into how far have we worked and how more do we need to improve in achieving such accomplishments. UN’s intervention in today’s world plays a major role. It has based its foundation on international peace, development and cooperation since the time it was formed. UN and its specialized agencies form a string pillar of the world. Following points......
