Name: James Christopher L. Tangga BC-12 Z If I were to listen to myself way before I entered BC 12, I would laugh at myself for I thought this wasn’t really important but turned out it helped me more in terms of my grammars. I remember that before I took up this subject I never really knew all the processes of reading. There are so many more different prospective or ideas on reading than I thought. I never imagined the number of research studies that have been done on reading. After reading these studies, I was able to find ways to determine areas of weaknesses of my reading comprehension and then I was able to correct them one by one. The development of reading is a far bigger concept than I thought, it widens the readers’ perspective about reading and imagination while going through words. What I learned after about a month or so about this study is that it can be helpful in many ways. I feel like I have a better understanding on how the reading process really works. I did not realize how complex learning to read really was. It helped me a lot in communicating with other people in English. While taking this subject, I have learned and improved some of my grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes back in high school, though I’m still not that great in writing which this paper explains I am a bit better now than before. Essays, reading comprehension, writing short stories, or writing reflection papers. These are just the things that we might tackle during the semester and these are also the things that we do almost every day, this subject helps not just me but everyone. I can’t imagine the world without communication, the world without proper language which is now slowly happening, I can’t imagine the world without these kind of subjects that help us improve and maintain our skills in writing, that help us widen our imaginations and lots of positive outputs. Basic communication, as what I view, is one important thing that others don’t see at first and disregard but realize its importance when they really listen through the words said by the professor.

...Nichele Rivera English 12 Prof. McPherson 6/1/15 My Melting Pot Growing up in America has been one of the most unexpected and surreal experiences. I am only twenty three years old but being from the Big Apple, New York and being raised by single parent, nothing in my life has ever been a walk in the park. I am considered a minority because I am Puerto Rican and African American and it has always been tough for me living in such an urban area. Not having the best financial status is what made thing even harder. My mother had to struggle to make ends meet for me, but we made it and are still making it. I have always seen my neighbors, friends, and family also experience the same hardships as me. Many of the people I know had to fight to make it America, and I mean that figuratively and literally. Some of the people I know weren’t even born here, and became citizens. I even know a few Aliens (immigrants who are living illegally in a country). Just learning to speak, read, and write a new language is a hurdle many who come here can never get over, so imagine having to find somewhere to live or a job to make money to survive. My melting pot country has shown me and taught me many things. I am American, we are as tough as they come. I have always said that being born here is what makes you a true American, and still believe that but, I have also come to see that immigrants venture here from other countries are the strength that America is known for as well. When you are born here...

...What is RH bill? Answer: The RH Bill is controversial because the Catholic Church is vehemently opposed to any legalization of birth control or discussion of family planning. The opponents of the bill have spread a large number of myths and tried to make people afraid that the bill would make abortion legal and cause immoral behavior. I enclose a link sponsored by the bill's supporters, who believe that women in the Philippines deserve control over their own bodies, and should have the right to practice family planning or obtain birth control.  Those who are opposed to the bill claim the following:  1. Sec. 17 of RH Bill could mean - Employers must provide employees free ligation/ vasectomy, condoms, pills, breast cancer treatments and information on contraceptives otherwise they are put to jail or fined or both.  They also claim this bill will lead to abortion on demand, and that even criticizing the bill could result in fines or penalties. In their view, the RH Bill would thus diminish religious freedom. That is why the Catholic Church has delayed this bill from even coming to a vote for nearly a decade. RH bill now a law, Palace confirms (UPDATED Dec. 29, 11: 04 a.m.) The Philippines now has a Reproductive Health (RH) law as the highly controversial measure bagged President Benigno Aquino III's approval, the Palace confirmed Saturday. "Today, Republic Act No. 10354, or the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012, has been published online...

...analyze us, or taking surveys. The LSI survey is a way we can see where we fit in amongst other individuals. This survey helps assess our personality characteristics and other traits according to how we interact in society. I took the survey to see where my personality traits rate with other people. I will go over the results and how a person can learn and change from them. The LSI survey is a circle that is broken in many parts. There are 3 areas that the circle is broken into which are satisfaction needs, task orientation, and security needs. The primary part is the satisfaction needs whereas the backup tells you what causes these traits. When it comes to the scoring of the survey I had my highest in the constructive styles 1, 2, 11, and 12. These help with self-enhancing thinking and behavior that causes satisfaction. Number 1 is the humanistic encouraging The Humanistic-Encouraging scale measures our interest in people, our tendency to care about others, and our ability to encourage them to improve. Humanistic-Encouraging people are accepting of themselves, and accept others for who they are without any issues. I believe I am definitely like this because I am not a judgmental person. Number 2 is the affiliate part that measures degree of commitment to forming and sustaining satisfying relationships. This is the area where people want to establish long relationships with others. They picked a time near Easter for direct action because besides Christmas time, it’s the main shopping period of the year. They wanted to bring pressure to put on the merchants that there should be changes made. 3.
