Mary Shelley "Frankenstein" Is a story about a monster that kills people. Know who this monster is is up to the interpretation of the reader. Now in the story of "Frankenstein" we have two main characters Victor Frankenstein and his creation in which I call the creature. These two characters have many similarities and many difference that are portrayed throughout the story. Also many people have had many different views of this story and whether the actual monster of the story is Victor himself or the actual creature in which he created through all of his scientific experimentation that he has done. At first glance many people will say the actual creature that he has created but when we actually dig a little deeper into the story we may reveal the real monster within Victor himself. Victor Frankenstein was really into science and he studied books by Agrippa, Paracelsus and Alberus Magnus. These books were only to be shunned by his professors at which he went to school and studied at. The reaction that the professor's gave was ""Every minute," continued M. Krempe with warmth, "every instant that you have wasted on those books is utterly and entirely lost". Pretty much what the professor was saying was that the contents of the books that he was reading was not factual enough and that Victor wasted his time reading them. But Victor being the guy that he is did not take the professor word for it and pursued his studies of these books to try and prove everyone wrong. He spends years on this creation that deprives him of his family as he is obsessed with getting this project accomplished. He failed to write his family for long periods of time. Eventually he finishes his creation of this creature only to be afraid of the very thing that he longed to create. It seems kind of odd to spend that great amount of time on something only to be afraid of the very creature that you have created. This would be the demise of Victor Frankenstein and would show his true character as he fled from the sights of the very creature he created. The creature that Frankenstein had created was described as "to make the being of a gigantic stature, that is to say, about eight feet in height, and proportionably large". Now this creation was huge in a since and was scary looking but why make such a huge creature like that if you know you would not be able to control it. This would be the reason in which i would call Victor frankenstein the monster. He set this creation off in to the world uncontrollably and he had to suffer the consequences to his action. Having this creature set off into the wild led to William being killed. Also it led to his bride and his dad being killed. Now many people would blame the creation for all of these murders since he was the one who actually killed the people but i say what about the deranged creator who neglected the family the creation actually killed. I believe on similarity that both Victor and the creature had was the fact that neither had any remorse for what they have done. Victor neglected his family for years and the creature out of anger killed his family. Both waited until the damage was done to react and this is why they are similar. The reason why the creation killed his bride was because Victor did not show the creation any emotion or sympathy when he asked for a female companion to accompany him. Victor Frankenstein replied "Begone! I do break my promise; never will I create another like yourself, equal in deformity and wickedness". This is all after he got the creatures hopes up and started to create the female companion for him. He went back on his word so the creature promised him on his wedding night he would be with them. The creature sure was with them as he killed his wife. To add more to the agony of Frankenstein his dad also died because of all the stress of all of the killings in the family. Being the creature i could understand the frustration in which he was put in. He was promised a female mate and then it was taken away and on top of that his own creator treated him like an outcast. Thats kind of a tough thing to swallow coming from anybody especially a creature with emotions. Victor Frankenstein has brought a lot of grief and misfortune upon himself and is to blame for creating such a creature. First off his creation was to big to control and it wasn't like he had an off switch to cut the big guy off or anything. Next he unleashes him on the town by abandoning him after he created him, Furthermore he makes the creation anger knowing that the creature is a murderer. These are a lot of things that could have been avoided throughout the story that could have turned this tragic ending into a happy fairy tale ending. If only he would have listened to his professors. As far as differences and similarities there aren't many. The only real big difference between them two were there physical traits. But in the end they both ended up looking ugly and rundown. Similarity wise i would say the were both heartless, ruthless, and they both only cared about themselves. They to me were mirror images of each other and it reflected throughout the story. Even though his creation carried out all of the killings Victor still had a hand in it. The shadiness that he portrayed and the unwillingness to listen to other people showed his true colors. He was the mad man that thought up this creature. The creature was his design in and out and i think he planned for something bad to happen. He seemed like there was something wrong in his head from when he was young and reading the books in which everyone told him not to waste his time on. Surely inside one of those books in which he was reading they should of had a warning about the creation of beast and unleashing them in to the world. All in all this was a great read about to monsters. The book leaf you see the monster physically and on the inside portrayed through both main characters.

...Theories are formulated to explain, predict, and understand phenomena and, in many cases, to challenge and extend existing knowledge within the limits of critical bounding assumptions. The theoretical framework is the structure that can hold or support a theory of a research study. The theoretical framework introduces and describes the theory that explains why the research problem under study exists. Importance of Theory A theoretical framework consists of concepts and, together with their definitions and reference to relevant scholarly literature, existing theory that is used for your particular study. The theoretical framework must demonstrate an understanding of theories and concepts that are relevant to the topic of your research paper and that relate to the broader areas of knowledge being considered. The theoretical framework is most often not something readily found within the literature. You must review course readings and pertinent research studies for theories and analytic models that are relevant to the research problem you are investigating. The selection of a theory should depend on its appropriateness, ease of application, and explanatory power. The theoretical framework strengthens the study in the following ways: 1. An explicit statement of theoretical assumptions permits the reader to evaluate them critically. 2. The theoretical framework connects the researcher to existing knowledge. Guided by a relevant theory, you are given a basis for your hypotheses...

...English 101R Corey Hall 9/21/11 Jordan and I were playing hide and seek. He was seeking and I was hiding under my aunt's bed. I could hear my aunt calling for Jordan to come into the kitchen, so I followed him. Peeking around the corner, I could see a short, slim black women sitting in a chair at the kitchen table. When Jordan entered the kitchen she motioned for him to take a seat in the chair across from her. I could hear her asking him questions about his mom and things that had happened to him. They talked for about thirty minutes the she and my aunt exchanged words in private. Then my aunt turned to tell Jordan to get his belongings because he was going with the lady in the kitchen. I had a funny feeling the entire time the lady was talking to my cousin. I could tell something wasn’t right, because we never really have company and when we do they always tell us kids to go play. Today was different and I was scared of what would happen. As Jordan started to pack his things I started to cry. At the time I didn’t know why I was crying but it felt nesseccary. Once Jordan finished packing we took what seemed like the longest walk ever down the hall back to the kitchen where the lady was waiting to take my cousin away. "Ready to go?" Jordan didn’t respond he just turned around hugged me and said goodbye. I watched...

...Dr. P. A. Jones English 101 11 October 2013 Review of Family Guy “McStroke” "McStroke" is an interesting animated comedy, and it is a really funny animation. The animation is the eight episodes with six season comedy series. The “McStroke” is written by Wellesley Wild, and directed by Brian Iles. Wellesley is a famous American animation writer, whose famous writing is the episodes of the animated series Family Guy. The director Brian is a professional animated director, who is the co-executive producer. According to the episode we watched in the class, it is mainly introduced several stories, and all of them are funny story. One of the story showed that Peter suffer a stroke and he eats 30 hamburgers in the restaurant. As far as I’m concerned, this story is use the chronological order to introduce the story, and the role use the critical thinking to the story. Peter has a chance to eat free hamburgers because someone burned his mustache. Therefore he eats almost 30 hamburgers, then he fall down due to the stroke. I think this scene is seems like very funny, but it also express some other things. For example, he has a chance to eat 30 hamburgers because someone burned his mustache, and after his critical thinking, he accepts his apologize and choose to eat free hamburgers. He used the critical thinking to make choice. Then, he goes to the hospital, and his family members are going to hospital to visit him. In the animation, they might use very funny tone to talk, but...

...Traylisha Dearman Dearman p1 May 4, 2010 Eng 101 Prof. Boswell Is America calling it an “Economic Crisis” yet? With mounting economic debt, the value of the American dollar has plummeted. With the crisis beginning in 2007 with the start of the housing, market crash. Even though our governments high spending habits are believed to contribute is our Government at fault for our "Crisis", the Housing Market crashing was a major cause to the economic downfall because when the housing market fell so did all economic markets and with Banks and Government Offices loaning on "sub-prime” loans it further sealed the deal. With America’s mounting debts, funding wars, and import of goods when will they stop and look at the big picture? If America is capable of making products, our country needs, and then why not do it? We export billions of dollars to other countries for goods that we can easily make our self. So why not save the money? If we were to begin manufacturing our own goods, we could not only save money but also give more jobs to people in our country. Americans need to realize that the products they buy from other countries imported into America do not put the money back in our own country. We can grow our own produce, and have for many years. Now days it seems we import more and more food to feed our families when we have the ability and know how to grow it our self. If we all...

Wuthering Heights

...Anna Faulkner Mrs. Tubbs English101: T/Thurs 7: 00 25October2012 Heathcliff And Catherine: A tale of two loves Catharine and Heathcliff’s passion for one another show how a love too great is developed throughout the novel, Wuthering Heights. The bond between Catharine and Heathcliff remain the primary mystery until the very end of the novel. Environment of the Yorkshire moor and both being raised as siblings at the same dwelling place, gives them both a greater chance to develop their romantic love affair. Their love exists on a higher or more spiritual plane in which eventually spirals out of control, leaving both Catharine and Heathcliff devastated. Heathcliff was a wearisome orphan, living in the slums of Liverpool who was brought home by Mr. Earnshaw when they were just mere children. Starting at an early age, they both shared a unique bond between one another that nobody else could explain. It is never entirely clear whether their love for one another is romantic or the love of very close siblings. Their recklessness and destructive passion are unable to penetrate the eternal love they share. Heathcliff repeatedly calls Catherine his soul; and Catherine states: “I am Heathcliff, he’s always in my mind; not as a pleasure, any more than I am always a pleasure to myself, but as my own being” (Pg 80), which shows their shared perception that they are identical. After experiencing a luxurious and pleasant stay at Thrushcross Grange, Catherine’s character significantly...

Anxiety Challenges

...Latoria Palmer Professor Althelstein Johnson English101 25 June 2014 Anxiety Challenges How does a person overcome anxiety? There are three reasons a person coping with anxiety can be so hard is because of losing someone, tackling the changes, and taking depressants. Losing someone dear to heart will forever change a person life. Anxiety is something that can develop during the time of a person death. The feeling of fear overshadows mind with what-“ifs”. There are a few ways to break through that chain of worries. A person can hang with family to get through the lost together. Exercising also is a helpful way to get yourself back to a normal state of mind. Secondly, tackling the changes that come with losing someone is extremely difficult to manage. Waking up without that person present is dreadfully overwhelming. Making changes to do any actives that have normally been done together are very sad. Sometime a person have to relocate to another city to get use to that person not being around. Finical circumstances changes for which the love one was able to help, is no longer an aid. Although, Taking depressants to cope with a person death have its pros and cons. Some depressant like Xanax have many side effects that add to just being depressed. Memoir

...Asha Kaur English101 Memoir 11/14/15 Seeing her smile turn into a dejected stare gave me a vibe that this wasn't any old phone call. I dispatched myself from the chair and went to wipe the tear that was slowly making its way down her chin. I soon realized it was too late as the news had struck her like a knife. 10 seconds, that’s all it took to disperse her into a sea of melancholy emotions. I stood there puzzled as she whispered one simple word “Death”. A series of questions arose in my mind as that word gave me the chills. With a puzzled look I stayed silent. Death is inevitable everyone knows that, but when one forces it upon themselves it flips the tables. I realized a tear had fallen down my face as I witnessed my mom mourn. It was complete utter silence, although at the same time the loudest plea for help. I got up to reassure my mom that everything was going to be fine. However this wasn't a good time to console someone who was having trouble breathing at the moment. I ran to get her some water but when I came back, she was on the phone again. I felt the warmth of my mothers face from across the room. My dad walked and stared as he couldn't comprehend what was happening. He sat down , picked up the phone and again 10 seconds, thats all it acquired. His reaction was the total opposite than what I had expected as he started to yell in utter distemper. I went to the bathroom and looked at myself and said one word “wow.” Six months progressed and I...

...WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HIGHER EDUCATION What Is the Purpose of Higher Education Excellent Student English101 May 31, 2014 Melissa Davis 1 WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HIGHER EDUCATION 2 What Is the Purpose of Higher Education A higher education can be a difficult decision in your life, and while many high school students as well as adults struggle with this due to the cost. The purpose of a higher education outweighs the cost, offers greater earning potential and career. In the last 22 years, I have noticed a drastic change in the job market. In fact, more and more employers are requesting potential employees to have some form of education above high school. Truly, high school students and adults struggle with the decision to gain a higher education due to the cost. Indeed, while earning your degree can carry a hefty price tag, you shouldn’t let that distract you from seeing the bigger picture. There are a wide variety of financial aid options available that can help with the cost. For example, the federal government offers money, and your work may offer a tuition reimbursement program. Moreover, in a 66 page report, from Pew Research Center, it stated that, “An overwhelming percentage of college graduates then and now believe their college degree did or will pay off, despite the financial investment,” (Weinreich, 2014). Besides struggling with the cost, you must also consider the greater earning potential for someone that holds an education above...

Charles Simic and the Storm

...Charles Simic is a Serbian-American poet born on May 9, 1938 in Belgrade which was then a part of Yugoslavia. Simic’s early days passed under the effects of the Second World War and he witnessed the effects of Nazism on people. At a very young age, Simic’s father had been captured by the Nazi officials but he managed to escape in the year 1944. Many of his poems such Death List are strongly influenced by the time he spent under the Nazi regime and on the horrors of the holocaust survivors. One of the first poem that Simic published was “What the Grass Says”, this was when he was in high school in USA. Later in 1990 he received the Pulitzer Prize for his collection of prose poetry. If you read any one of the Simic’s poems you won’t be able to understand the clear meaning that he is trying to convey but as you read three or four of them, you will start to realize there is a strange sense of juxtapositions of objects in his works. The poems written by Charles Simic always have the sense of conflict within the poem itself. Simic is not afraid of exploring violence in his poems and this can be justified by his early days. His imagination has the scenes of what he witnessed during the Nazi regime and he seems to be scared of it. However Simic himself justifies his use of violence in the poems, he once said in the interviews, ““Violence is a kind of pathetic, perverted attempt to feel.  The poems try to understand its origins, to see its consequences, to exorcise its demons”. (The...
