Enjoyment

...I strongly disagree that people today spend too much time on personal enjoyment, rather than doing things they should do. Because there is economic suppression in many countries, today-living people have more works to do and less time to enjoy and our society is based on certain disciplines. First of all, we all know that governments of many countries have problems with current economic situation and they ask people to work harder to extricate the country from economic chaos. In addition, the rate of unemployment is increasing. Hence people do not have enough time to do whatever they want. Suppose that you are bank accountant who spend most of your time at your office and even you are obliged to wait for extra works. So after finishing your work at the evening you are too tired to go around or join your friends to go to the cinema. So, although you really like to spend your time with your friends, you should go home and take a shower and just lean on a sofa in front of TV because you know that you have to be punctual in your work, otherwise you will lose your career. In addition, in the modern age we have to live based on a certain schedule because all parts of our community are organized and we cannot change the rules and arrangements. For example, if you want to go to a trip, you have to write a request letter and ask your boss for a leave that usually should be done one or two months sooner than your trip and it will take a few days for your boss to grant a leave to you...

The Long-Term Effects of Globalization on the Enjoyment of Individual Human Rights and on Social and Cultural Identities

...recent decades, with the development in communication and technology that the world has witnessed the rapid increase in international trade, investment, immigration and the culture assimilation at an unprecedented quantity and quality never recorded before in human history. As such, globalization can be interpreted in some main characteristics: disembedding, acceleration, interconnectedness, movement, mixing, and vulnerability and re embedding. Characterized by these features, effects of globalization on different aspects are various but one cannot deny its long-term impacts on the enjoyment of human rights as well as social and cultural identities. On the one hand, people argue that this globalizing trend means homogenization of culture and social identities which diminishes the attainment of human rights, while the others believed that the concept itself not only enhance and liberate the full enjoyment of such basic rights of each individual but also mix and produce diversity of identities. Therefore, the following arguments of the essay will be structured in a way that would analyze both negative and positive positions of globalization that might affect society in a long run. The essay will start by stating that while global development has made the law of human rights become more universal to both individual, organization and government...

Nestle Crunch Bar

...channels were used to find various themes and feelings residing within the consumer, conscious and subconscious. Between pages twelve and fourteen, multiple feelings/themes are presented. A couple of these have stuck out in comparison to the others, emotional comfort and enjoyment. These two themes seem to be present in the mind of the consumer through all of the consumer testing studies and also within the consumer throughout the entire purchasing experience. A) From the Nestle Crunch Consensus Map, we can see that enjoyment is linked to many other feelings that evoked in the consumer during the purchasing experience. Some of the predecessors to enjoyment include aspects such as taste, product attributes, indulgence and anticipation. These are all things that occur before enjoyment is experience from the consumer. From the study, it can be seen that enjoyment is an experience that is almost purely defined by primary deciding factors such as the ones mentioned above; making enjoyment a secondary feeling during the experience of consuming a nestle Crunch bar. The qualities of the product such as taste, feel and look are directly linked to enjoyment one gets out of the product. One of the words related to enjoyment that tends to stick out in the study, is indulgence. This is a word that is often personified with chocolate in general. “Chocolate is a complex material possessing numerous compounds that act upon the brain, producing a sense of delight that no other substance can replicate”...

Price Promotion

...increase consumer enjoyment by enhancing positive moods while dampening the “pain” of payment or decrease consumer enjoyment by lowering attention during consumption. Four experiments were conducted to test if immediate or delays in consumption after receiving a discount would play significant role in determining this increase or decrease in consumer enjoyment. These experiments involved real spending and consumption and set out to demonstrate that when consumption occurred immediately after a price discount, consumption experience was more enjoyable and there was an opposite effect on consumption experience when consumption was delayed. The experiments further investigated feelings (mood) and attention respectively to support these effects while ruling out perceived quality, absolute paid price and direct sunk cost as possible explanations. In experiment 1, they tested the influence of price promotions and a delay in consumption on overall consumer enjoyment (Hypothesis 1) of chocolate truffles. Hypothesis 1a stated an increase in consumer enjoyment between price promotion and immediate consumption while Hypothesis 1b stated a decrease in consumer enjoyment between a price promotion and a delay in consumption. The independent variables manipulated in this experiment were price discount (price discount vs no price discount) and consumption delays (immediate consumption vs delayed consumption), while the dependent variable observed was consumption enjoyment of the purchased...

Property Leasehold Essay

...The trial judge will only order Tim to pay Larry back rent in the amount of $500 and find that Tim properly vacated the premises. There are four types of leasehold estates: (1) Term of years; (2) Periodic tenancies; (3) Tenancies at will; and (4) Tenancies at sufferance. A term of years is a lease for a fixed, determined period of time. No notice is required for termination. A term of years greater than one year must be in writing to satisfy the statute of frauds. A periodic tenancy continues for successive intervals until either the landlord or tenant give proper notice of termination. Unless otherwise agreed, the common law default rule requires notice to be given at least equal to the length of the period itself. A tenancy at will has no fixed time or period, and it may terminate at any moment by either party. Reasonable notice must be given to terminate the tenancy at will. A tenancy at sufferance is created when the tenant has wrongfully held over after the expiration of the original lease. It is usually short-lived and will continue only until the landlord either evicts the tenant or gives the tenant a new leasehold. Unless otherwise agreed by the landlord and tenant, the tenancy at sufferance is subject to those same terms and conditions as the original lease. In other words, the tenant will be required to pay the same amount of rent by the same method as agreed upon in the original lease. When the tenant holds over, the landlord has two options: (1) The landlord...

Media

...‘Our enjoyment of media products is influenced by the platforms we use to access them’. How far is this true of your cross media study? Support your answer with reference to a range of examples from three media platforms. The enjoyment of the media products is influenced greatly by the different platforms that we use to access them. In my case study, all three platforms have used different techniques to create hype and enjoyments of the media products in order to engage audiences. I analysed two films: Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Trek into darkness. Guardians of the Galaxy had various media platforms, which targeted different audiences. There’s the epic mainstream trailer, toys/action figures for children and even lead actor, Chris Pratt, appearing in sketches parodying the film on Saturday Night Live. This would have created enjoyment towards the audience as it would have created anticipation and he’s a well-known and popular actor, making him a unique selling point. They also targeted dominant, hegemonic fans of Marvel films such as behind the scene interviews, documentaries and even the cast attending conventions such as Comic Con. This provides fans with a social belonging, due to the fact that the casts are with the fans and it’s like a community coming together, who are a big fan of Guardians of the Galaxy. Star Trek into Darkness have used a different approach by releasing many competitions that were launched for the upcoming movie, so people who knew about...

...selected mobile applications, and find out what really drives the intention to use these applications across users and non-users. Design/methodology/approach: The authors measured actual usage of mobile applications in a panel study of 579 Finnish smartphone users, using in-device measurements as an objective way to identify users and non-users. A web-based survey was used in collecting data to test an extended TAM model in explaining intention to use. Findings: Perceived technological barriers negatively affect behavioural control, reflecting people’s assessment of themselves being capable of using the services without trouble. Behavioural control is directly linked to perceived usefulness (except for games) and perceived enjoyment, as hypothesized. Perceived enjoyment and usefulness were generically found to explain intention to use applications for both users and for non-users. Research limitations/implications: With regards to the impact of social norms, the study finds that further research needs to be done in exploring its impact more thoroughly. The dataset of the research, consisting purely of male-dominated, young smartphone users, make the generalization of results difficult. Practical implications: There are differences...

Research Paper

...careers that could suit me would be that of a clinical psychologist, a ghost writer, and an English teacher. Each of these jobs would allow me to place my thumbprint on the world in a way that would leave the people who encounter me forever changed in a positive way. When factoring what would comprise the weight criteria I decided that distance, pay, life’s work, enjoyment, and ability would all be items that would be the be the deciding factors as to which career would suit me best. I anticipated that the scores would be either vastly different or all pooled to one side. The oddity here was that the scores seemingly balanced out. The level of enjoyment and potential for life’s work were all around the same percentage wise for each career. However, the actual rating caused the numbers to look vastly different. For example, enjoyment for work as a ghost writer was high 95, while work as an English teacher was rated at simply a 75. According to www. freelance.com, “A ghost writer is hired for his or her quality of work, and not necessarily for his or her "name" as a book writer.” This would allow for a high enjoyment rate. No pressure to be blocked into one genre of writing. (Cole, 2014) According to http://platorubric.stanford.edu/ , protocols required for an English teacher are rigid and fixed. This would consistently stifle my creativity. (Protocols for Language Art Teaching Observatoins, 2015) Another set of changes came when ability was factored in. Though the numbers once...

Film

...Film Viewer Opinion Paper Movies are a big part of life. People love movies because they can relate to them. Others like them for mere enjoyment and see them as an escape from reality if only for a few hours. The types of movies out in the world today are numerous. There is everything from horror movies, to romantic comedies, to drama, to documentaries, indie movies, foreign, and so on. Everyone has their taste of movies, and people decide to watch certain movies based on the actors and actresses who are staring in them and the storyline of the movie. These are all things that help people decide which movies are enjoyable to them, and which ones are not. Deciding Which Films to Watch Ramon decides on what movies to watch with careful consideration. Any movies that have actors that Ramon doesn't like he will not go spend money on them. In his opinion, some actors play the same role over and over again. A perfect example of this is the lead actress in the Twilight Saga movies. Ramon thinks that they could have found a better actress to play the part of Bella, some who could have played a role that was different from all her other movies. He also bases his decision on the type of movie it is. Scary movies, romantic comedies, and action thrillers are some movies that Ramon likes to see. Action movies that do not involve a love story, or have the story be about the love interest is another factor in my decision making. What Makes a Film Enjoyable? The movies...
