Eric Lefkofsky is a serial entrepreneur best recognized for his involvement in companies such as Groupon and Tempus. Lefkofsky was raised in Michigan to a middle class family. He joined Southfield-Lathrup, afterwards he continued onto the University of Michigan and graduated with honors. It was in 1993 when he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan law school. Lefkofsky started his career by selling carpets while he was attending University of Michigan. Later he founded a company known as Apparel with his partner Brad KeyWell.

Eric Lefkofsky is technology enthusiast, has written about accelerated disruption. In his book Accelerated Disruption Lefkofsky notes that accelerated disruption is the blueprint on creating a business that provides unique values and generates profits from different types of markets. In his book he present 18 factors on how to manage and implement them so as a startup can leap the befit of accelerated disruption.
