Law Essasy

...The Cambridge Law Test: Specimen Questions All applicants who sit the test in Cambridge will be asked to answer one question in one hour. Individual Colleges will select, from a centrally-set bank of questions, the particular question or questions which appear on their test papers. Three types of questions will be made available to the Colleges, although most Colleges will use only one of the three types:  Essay questions;  Problem questions;  Comprehension questions. Whichever type of question an applicant is asked to attempt, he or she will not be expected to have any prior knowledge of the law. Please note that the specimen questions provided on this website are intended to indicate, in broad terms, the kinds of question which will be asked; they should not, however, be taken as giving any specific indication of the precise topic areas which will be covered in the Cambridge Law Test. Essay Questions What is an essay question? Essay questions typically ask candidates to consider a statement of opinion and to discuss it, giving reasons for their answer. This may be done by (as in the first question below) asking for discussion of a quotation or (as in the second question) asking a direct question. What are we looking for? Although our essay questions refer to law-related matters, as can be seen from the examples below, that does not mean that we expect, or are looking for, knowledge of the law. Applicants who have studied or are studying law (for example...

Personal Academic Essasy

...PERSONAL ACADEMIC GOALS What are your weak points in the academic world? As a struggling teen, I was always challenged by three haunting skill sets. For example, I had difficulties elaborating and explaining my viewpoints to others. I constantly remember repeating myself and trying to find ways in which to articulate what I wanted to say in front of the class for a group presentation. I was also challenged in putting my thoughts in a clear and precise manner in which others could understand. I found it difficult to get my point across during my presentations and would always have to rely on my classmates probing for more answers to clarify my thought process. To make matters worse, researching a paper proved to be an obstacle time after time. It was difficult for me to find the necessary data that would best support my point of view. I would spend a great deal of time just to gather information that I would end up excluding from my final draft. In this paper, I will be talking about my strategies in achieving my goals to strengthen my critical thinking, oral communication, and information utilization/research. One of my goals involves critical thinking, in which I would like to enhance my problem-solving and decision-making skills. I believe these improvements are important in the business world and are highly looked upon by employers. This also validates my competency in real life decision-making situations. According to Paul and Elder, “Development in thinking requires...

Worldview Paper

...The Author The Professor APOL 104 The Date Determining a Personal Worldview Part I What is a worldview? One’s worldview is the lens through which you envision your existence. It is conceived, developed and refined over a lifetime of experiences. Personal beliefs, biases, preconceptions, morals and social behavior, among other aspects, are influenced by previous events in your lifetime. A complete biblical worldview is supported by five separate criteria as seen in Part II. Part I word count: 56 Part II Foundational Questions of a Biblical Worldview 1. The Question of Origin: A biblical worldview presupposes, and is plainly stated in Genesis 1:1 (New American Standard Bible) that a one true God exists and that He created everything. Once that assumption is made, it logically follows that we all are of God and belong to God. Psalm 100:3 supports this claim. The question of origin is truly the basis of the Christian faith. 2. The Question of Identity: In Genesis 1:26, God created man and woman in his image and granted humans power over members of the animal world. If man weren’t valued above animals, why would He have sent his only Son to the world as a human? There is, however, value to all things He has created. Matthew 6:26 acknowledges the value of, and love for, animals. 3. The Question of Meaning/Purpose: For ages, man has questioned his reason for existing. We exist to glorify God, as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. A relationship...
