Selena Quintanilla born in Lake Jackson, TX. Was a Mexican American singer, dancer and entertainer. PUNCTUATION Selena was the “Queen of Tejano,” and was killed by the president of her fan club. She sang and entertained for 16 years. Selena's murder sent shockwaves through the Latino community, and her fans around the world mourned the singer's passing. Selena's life story has been the subject of a 1997 film, Selena, which stars Jennifer Lopez as the Tejano superstar and James Edward Olmos as her father. In this biographical drama, Selena (Jennifer Lopez) is born into a musical family. Selena’s father Abraham (James Edward olmos) realized that his daughter Selena had a gift, Selena then started to sing and perform at small venues. Selena falls for her guitarist without her father's approval. Selena seeking mainstream fame, decides to start to record her her English-language album which tragically she will never finish. Selena confesses to her mother that she is having anxiety about her crossover album and also confesses about her and Chris wanted to start a family.
