Cloud Computing

In this paper I will discuss about the cloud computing technology. Cloud computing is emerging as a strategic model for big IT businesses that want to outsource some of their regular Information technology needs or IT needs at top demand times, and also for small organization in search of an inexpensive solution for their computing needs. Cloud computing is technology which attracts the business managers, for its less cost, infrastructure and has the long believed dream of computing as a utility and has the potential to transform a large part of the Information technology industry, making software more smart as a service and shaping the way information technology hardware is designed and bought. It is massive computing resources, deployed among virtual datacenters and it is allocated to particular users and tasks and accessed as a service through a user interface such as internet website. (WALLIS PAUL, 2008)

In year 1999 the salesforce.com was the first to deliver the use of applications through a simple website. In the early 2000’s business like the Microsoft, IBM, and amazon started covering Cloud Computing. Microsoft started by using software as a service through website services. In the beginning of year 2009, Sun Microsystems launched the virtual data center. This information center offers a way for folks to host anything they wanted at a minor fee instead of adding storage space to their personal laptops or desktops. For example, Amazon launched the big development of Amazon Mechanical Turk, which gives users access to an on demand workforce. The Apple Corporation has just come out with an application for the Iphones that will allow them use cloud computing faster and easier. Google have started using Cloud computing. Google’s cloud enables faster collaboration. Google application is stored in the cloud not on employee computers, so

Cloud Computing 500 Word Essay

...Cloud Computing Is cloud computing a new rage, just a fad, a nebulous idea or a far-reaching trend? Cloud computing has become a buzz word in working and learning environments around the globe. Newsstands and Internet pages everywhere are inundated with articles, whitepapers and websites dedicated to defining the many facets of cloud computing such as hosting a website on the cloud, building a cloud infrastructure, cloud security, vulnerabilities, capabilities, pros and cons and cost. IEEE.org (IEEE CLOUD COMPUTING) has dedicated pages on their website to reference nothing but articles of interest and white papers surrounding cloud computing. The barrage of information can be daunting. Jon Oltsik (Oltsik) eloquently discusses industries’ bewilderment with cloud computing when he writes: When discussing cloud computing, I often think of Joni Mitchell's haunting lyrics from the song,Both Sides Now (jonimitchell.com). In Mitchell's world, clouds can be wonderful "ice cream castles in the air" or annoying disturbances that "only block the sun." This duality prompts Mitchell to declare, "It's clouds illusions I recall, I really don't know clouds at all." Joni's cloud confusion mirrors current industry bewilderment over cloud computing. Like many other industry initiatives, cloud computing has a number of meanings.  Finally, industry confusion is no more. A guideline has been prepared by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). NIST is responsible...

Ais Auditing Paper

...Essay 1. There are two different auditing functions internal auditing and external auditing. Internal auditors are a company’s own accounting employees that perform the audit. On the other hand, external auditors are from outside of the company and work for an independent CPA firm that performs an external audit. Internal auditors report to top management positions such as the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. The internal auditing function involves five main evaluations. 1) Employee compliance with organizational policies and procedures, meaning that employees are not breaking or violating the company’s rules. 2) Effectiveness of operations, meaning that the company’s controls and production are operating as efficiently as possible. 3) Compliance with external laws and regulations, meaning that the company’s procedures and operations do not violate any governmental or business laws. 4) Reliability of financial reports, meaning that the financial reports are not biased or construed in a way that would cause misrepresentation. 5) Internal controls, this means that the company is protected (as well as possible) against fraud, theft, and corruption. Overall, the internal audit function checks the efficiency and integrity of almost the entire company. The internal audit benefits the company’s management and employees to check and ensure that company procedures are efficient and legal. The company would rather have a mistake or fraudulent information be caught by the internal...

Cloud Computing

...Andrew Marty Cloud Computing Cloud computing is becoming the "solution" for businesses. It is revolutionizing how businesses work & get things done. Before cloud, computing was ever thought of, businesses worked from their own computers, licensing tons of software & people complaining that their computers were too slow to handle the proper tasks they needed to get finished. Fast forward years later, now were in the cloud-computing era. The era where people can access tons of applications through a remote server. Where companies can save money, license the program they need once & where there are no complaints about it being slow to the extent where they cannot use certain programs because of memory issues. There are tons of advantages cloud computing has in the business world & that is what I will be elaborating on throughout this essay. When talking about cloud computing in the business world, it is helpful & understandable to divide it into two sections, which are the front end & the back end. They connect to each other through a network. The front end is the side the person see's, like the computer & the applications used to run the computer & which ones to access the cloud. The back end consists of various types of technology such as the computers, the servers & the data storage systems that create the cloud. This architecture is involved for creating a cloud-computing environment. A cloud-computing environment is especially great...

Just One More Thing to Know

...Microsoft and VM Solutions for virtual Computing Denyze McRae NT1210 Week 5 Essay Virtual Computing With the virtual world of computing transcending to the cloud, endless possibilities await who ever reaches the top first. Microsoft and VMware are competing to provide the virtual community with the best product. VMware is using the vSphere5 Enterprise Edition to combat the Windows Hyper-V3 Server 8, and does a very good job at that. Microsoft has taken huge steps in competition with VMware’s productivity and features. In many cases Microsoft has met VMware solutions and has possibly surpassed the competition, and at a more affordable price. However it is in VMware’s advantage that they have been well established in this area of expertise; however Windows is becoming the way of the future and is certainly one to bargain with. Microsoft Microsoft’s cloud computing solution helps customers meet their current and future IT challenges. The infrastructure of Microsoft cloud computing provides more choice and flexibility through options of either private or public cloud model depending on which one fits their requirements. Microsoft also offers comprehensive end-to-end management, and free cloud accelerator solutions with valuable out-of-box functionality. As result, Microsoft cloud computing helps companies increase how quickly they can respond to changes in their business environment and how effectively they can manage...

Evaluation Essay

...Evaluation Essay The product that I am going to use is SaaS or software-as-a-service which we have been using for ages now. We all know that cloud computing is a hazy concept. As with Web 2.0 before it, it's something everyone thinks they need, even if they are not sure what it means. In a nutshell, cloud computing means tapping software, hardware or storage over the Internet (the aforementioned "cloud"), then using and paying for it on an as-needed basis. Applications like Facebook and Google Gmail have always been "in the cloud," but you can also lease computing power from Amazon, storage from Rackspace or software from Salesforce.com. Cheaper, greener, more versatile, the paradigm promises to throw the corporate data centre onto the trash heap along with those old mainframes. For starters, cloud computing is unlikely to become ubiquitous in the business world because it doesn't make sense for everything. Moving corporate data that require frequent updates out into a cloud is time-consuming, risky and impractical, says Daryl Plummer, a senior Gartner analyst. And sensitive information shouldn't be outsourced to cloud providers, because current laws and contracts are too vague and inconsistent. Also called software-as-a-service (SaaS), cloud computing is when you run software over the internet and access it via a browser (Schneier, 2009). It has gone from a curiosity to the mainstream in just a few years as businesses turn to the technology to take advantage of the inherent...

Information Systems

...Components and Infrastructures of Infornation Systems Ronald Minnieweather Walden University Components and Infrastructures of Information Systems Information systems are a collection of hardware and software that control the flow of data. Information systems are useful because they enable organizations to collect and process data faster, create reports in real time, and help improve decision making. Major components of information systems There are five major components that needs to be in place in order for information systems to operate properly. The first component is hardware which is basically the physical aspects of computer parts such as monitors, motherboards, keyboards, mouse, and speakers. Software is the second component, which is the instructions for computers (5 key components of an information system?, 2014). Another major component is data, which is a collection of facts and values. The fourth component is procedures which are strictly the guidelines that must be followed. The last major components of information systems are the people needed to monitor the systems (5 key components of an information system?, 2014). Relation between business architecture, IT architecture, and information system Business architecture is “graphical representation of a business model, showing the networks, through which authority, information, and work flows is a firm” (Business Architecture, 2014). This service brings heavy competition against other companies that provide cloud services. In addition, with Amazon’s simple step guide, it creates a new horizon of opportunities for new clients to explore. In this essay, I will discuss my impressions, thoughts about organizations should consider the service, and its possible technical limitations. I have personally been a big fan of Amazon’s great services. From my orders being delivered on time, refunded from unwanted purchase transactions, and to reviewing other company’s products through Amazon, I believe Amazon has taken the next step to guide organizations to a more healthy and lucrative way to promote business. Amazon’s private cloud service has created a convenient and comfort level of security for its clients. Android

...------------------------------------------------- Essay on “Google Android OS vs. Apple iOS” The competition between Google Android and Apple iOSis one of the most talked after wars in mobile gadget platforms. The Google Android platform is increasingly becoming dominant in the smartphones and tablets market. Nokia, a once leading company in the mobile phone market is slowly entering the smartphone market with a new range of Lumia smartphones powered by Windows 8 mobile as it phases out its range of Symbian powered smartphones. Equally, Motorola Mobility is trying to gain a share of the market by increasing its product portfolio of smartphones in the Droid family. The Android Operating System powers the Droid range of smartphones. Samsung is by far the largest mobile manufacturing company in the world with a full range of Android powered smartphones in the Galaxy family. The recent entry of the Samsung Galaxy SIII heightened the competitive advantage of the Android Software Platform based on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) software. With HTC,Blackberry OS, and Microsoft Mobile as a distant competitors, the war is clearly not between mobile phone manufacturers but the war is between software manufacturers, and in this case,Apple iOS and Google Android (Katie, 2012). Currently, the competition between Apple iOS and Google Android is so close such that it becomes difficult to tell the superior operating system (Ian, 2011). Undeniably, each mobile platform has its strengths and...

Technology Taking Our Jobs

...Brian Mathews English 101 Hofreiter 4-2-13 Technology Taking Our Jobs In the 19th century, The British textile industry was one of the main contributors to the start of the Industrial Revolution. Many self-employed British tailors found themselves out of work with no way to earn income through their profession. It forced tailors out of their jobs because Britain’s textile industry was more efficient than a self employed tailor and the quality was still pretty high. They became obsolete very quickly and if they didn’t find another job, the children and families of these tailors would soon starve or become homeless. As more technologies were invented during the Industrial Revolution, more and more professions became outdated which forced many people to become unemployed. What people don’t realize is that we are still facing the same problem 200 years later. Technology is slowly replacing human jobs in order to make production and services cheaper and more efficient. Based on history, becoming replaced by a machine is inevitable to many people in many areas of work. Although technology is creating jobs, at the same time it is killing them off at an even greater rate. Many people are finding themselves no longer needed to carry out the same job that would be impossible without them 15 years ago. “In the United States, half of the 7.5 million jobs lost during the Great Recession paid middle-class wages, and the numbers...

Gs 1145 Strategies for the Technical Professional

...------------------------------------------------- Unit 2 Assignment 2: New Technology in My Field-Research and Essay The field I am going into or simply getting my degree in Associate’s of Applied Science in Network Systems Administration. One of the new technology is the mysterious cloud. The cloud storage is a storage network not device, because it is over the network. It is software in the network that allows a person to access the data anywhere by smartphone, laptop, desktop, Apple Iphone, or any other mobile device or tablet. That data is saved online rather than saving it on an expensive external device, or having to delete the old file to make new room for new data having to be saved. The physical storage for the cloud spans across multiple servers and many locations as well as several hosting companies. The cloud storage has four models, they are public, which is available to the public over the internet, private, which is for corporations and businesses only, community, for non-profit organizations and so forth, and lastly the hybrid version which is the combination of all three. In 2006 Amazon came out with their version of the online cloud storage called the AWS S3. Then later on Microsoft and Apple came out of their version as well. Other companies have created their version but, they have not succeeded in keeping their business afloat, causing them to go bankrupt. It is hard to stay with a small company that offers cloud storage because when they go bankrupt, you lose all your storage because...
