CHAPTER – 1
Introduction:-
Heat exchangers are very helpful in chemical process, engineering application and also in daily use applications, such as, dairy industry, chemical industry, environment engineering, power production, air conditioning and also in food industry. Shell & Tube heat exchanger is commonly used in energy industries and petrochemical industry. Plate Heat Exchanger is commonly used in a wide range of chemical process and so many industrial functions. So many effort have been made to increase the heat transfer of heat exchanger, reduce the heat transfer time and also increase the energy utilization. The mixture of fluid (base liquid) and Nanoparticles (nanometer sized) are called 'nanofluid'. Latest technology gives benefit

As his name mentioned, heat exchangers are designed to transfer or exchange the heat from one medium to another medium. Heat exchanger transfer the energy from the hot side and it is uses to heat up the cool side. The basic purpose of heat exchangers is heating up component and cooling it down. In a heat exchanger there is no direct contact between the two fluids. The heat is going through from the first medium to metal isolating the two mediums and then go to another medium. Heat exchanger have so many type but normally it’s classified depend upon the heat transfer process. in the industry mostly we used the shell and tube, air-cooled and plate frame heat …show more content…
To investigate the thermal analysis of plate heat exchanger using nanofluids for various volume flow rate and different range of concentrations.
2. We investigated thermal analysis of plate heat exchanger using magnesium oxide (MgO) nanofluids with water.

Intercultural Management

...expand their businesses. Subsequently, the managerial implications of cross-cultural management is the challenge of this development. As Abbe (2007) states, cross-cultural leadership has developed as a way to understand leaders who work in the global markets. Culture is the “software of mind” that can influence people’s patterns of thinking and behaving. (Hofstede, 1997). Referring to a work of He and Liu (2010), different characteristics of culture result in thinking, understanding and communication diversity. These diversities more or less make organisational development and management difficult. Therefore, multicultural managers should create cross-cultural training in their companies in order to increase effectiveness across culture. This essay will be discussing whether effective cross-cultural management has to be grounded in a detailed knowledge of individual cultures with examples of two multinational companies: Wal-Mart and Alfa Laval. II/ The Debate on Cross-Cultural Management: Globalisation has increased the awareness of consumers, and made nations more inter-dependent. In these days, international corporations require managers who can adapt to various environment quickly and work with their partners as well as employees from other cultures (House et al., 2001). Today, business in different nations should increase their sensitivity and respect for one another’s cultural differences to gain benefits from the growth of international business. Mainly,......

...nuclear. Even mass can be considered a form of energy. Energy can be transferred to or from a closed system (a fixed mass) in two distinct forms: heat and work. For control volumes, energy can also be transferred by mass flow. An energy transfer to or from a closed system is heat if it is caused by a temperature difference. Otherwise it is work, and it is caused by a force acting through a distance. We start this chapter with a discussion of various forms of energy and energy transfer by heat. We then introduce various forms of work and discuss energy transfer by work. We continue with developing a general intuitive expression for the first law of thermodynamics, also known as the conservation of energy principle, which is one of the most fundamental principles in nature, and we then demonstrate its use. Finally, we discuss the efficiencies of some familiar energy conversion processes, and examine the impact on energy conversion on the environment. Detailed treatments of the first law of thermodynamics for closed systems and control volumes are given in Chaps. 4 and 5, respectively. Objectives The objectives of Chapter 2 are to: • Introduce the concept of energy and define its various forms. • Define the nature of internal energy. • Define the concept of heat and the terminology associated with energy transfer by heat. • Discuss the three...
