Life Purpose and Life Intentions
Ideas on How to Find Your Life Purpose and Life Intentions

Finding and clarifying your life purpose and core life intentions can help you to move with greater focus and clarity every day of your life. Especially in these challenging times, setting clear intentions and developing and refining our life purpose can make it much easier to navigate stormy waters.
There are many ways to both find and develop your life purpose and intentions. Below are a number of useful resources to help you on this path of discovery. This information is provided to inspire you to be all that you can be and to lead an ever richer, fuller life.
A great way to start exploring your life purpose and intentions is to stop for a moment and ask yourself these two key questions:
What is most important to me in my life?

What are my deepest values and beliefs?
Give yourself time to explore these important questions and notice what touches and inspires you most deeply. Write down any answers or thoughts that come to you as you ponder these questions. Then use what you've written as a basis upon which to craft your life purpose and intentions. Consider also inviting divine guidance and your own inner wisdom to help you with this.
Below are some inspiring examples of life purpose, intentions, and mission statements. You can use one or more of these examples as a template or model for developing your own.
 My Reason for Being
 My Life Purpose & Intentions
Though both can be valuable, there is a difference between life purpose and life intentions. Your life purpose is generally a single statement related to the overall reason that you feel you are here. What is the greater purpose behind your being alive? Why are you here in the world?
Life intentions are any number of profound statements about the way you want to live your life. How do you want to be and act in the world right now and in each moment? When you are confronted with major challenges, on what core principles do you want to base your decisions and actions?
Both life purpose and life intentions can be rich and valuable in helping to move through the challenges life brings us, though some will prefer focusing on one over the other. If you find this process somewhat challenging, you might do best to focus on one first. Choose whichever feels right and best to you. Later you can always come back and work on the other.
You may find yourself hitting a mental or emotional block in this process. Whether or not this is the case for you, by exploring the core beliefs and challenges in your life, you can find useful ideas on this. Once you've identified your own deepest challenges, you can develop meaningful life intentions or even a life purpose to deal with them.
Once you find and develop your life purpose and intentions, consider finding a good place to post them. Review them each day upon awakening in the morning to help you move more effectively and powerfully through the day. In difficult situations, check to see if your life purpose or one of your intentions can give you direction to navigate through the stormy waters. By frequently reminding yourself of your purpose and intentions, you become more focused and effective in building a brighter future for yourself and for all around you.
Remember that this key piece in your path to self-discovery is an evolving process. Nothing needs to be set in stone. One day while reviewing what you've written, you may find new wording that better expresses what it is you really want deep down. Or one of your intentions may no longer feel so important, while another surfaces to take its place. Unlike goals, which are future oriented, life intentions are for the present. They can change in accordance with changes and new realizations inside of you. When you live life to its fullest, you are a constantly developing work of art.

If i were a doctor

Every person born in this world will have an aim or goal in life. There is nothing wrong in having an ambition but one should not be overambitious.
When I was still quite young and a student in a high school, a doctor visited our school and gave a lecture on healthcare. He stressed the point that prevention is better than cure. But then, how to prevent contagious diseases which spread very easily in and unhealthy society was the question asked by one of our friends at the end of the lecture. The doctor only repeated his point on prevention but later said that what could not be prevented has to be cured. He added that it is the doctor’s duty to cure.
Medical facilities and medical care were not so well advanced in those days. But one thing common which existed then and which exists even today, is that those who have adequate money to spend on medical care can afford to have good health and those who cannot afford have to rely on faith and God for cure. It is this lack of medical facility and the ever continuing gulf between the haves and have-nots in the society that prompted me to become a doctor and serve the poor and the downtrodden.
I thought that I would study M.B.B.S. course, get employed as a doctor in a rural area, and do my best to the needy and the poor. I dreamt of a situation when all young doctors like me would be doing service in rural areas and help the sick and old. I also felt that if a doctor is doing selfless service, he would be regarded and considered as divine. I felt that my ambition in life should be to serve fellow men and not to earn money as greedy man. I was clear that by serving mankind, I would be serving God. The doctor’s lecture motivates me further to become a doctor.
I got a seat in the medical college very easily as I got top rank. I was admitted in a Government Medical College, which had then very eminent doctors and specialists on its staff. I passed my M.B.B.S., degree course with distinction and after working as a house-surgeon; I was selected to work as a doctor at Primary Health Centre, Hussinpuram. I thought I had realized my ambition in life and that I would serve the poor and the rural needy.
India is a country full of myths and superstitions. People’s faith in village deities is much more than their faith in a qualified doctor. A mystic or a tantric is more welcome than a qualified doctor.
So I had to face a new challenge which I never anticipated when I thought of becoming a doctor. Unless I live as one with the rural folk I am sure they would not accept me as one of their friends and well wishers.
Treatment becomes difficult when the patients do not cooperate. So I started learning a new lesion on what and how I should be, to function as a doctor. The new lesions learnt have brought me nearer to the people. Now they no longer believe in tantriks or mystics for cures. So they directly come to my hospital for treatment.
My love and affection towards the poor, the kind words I speak with them in their own language, the respect I show to them as fellow human beings are paying rich dividends than the actual medicines I give to the patients. I have put in to practice the ideals I cherished when was a young student in a high school.

Attitude Is Everything
Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"
He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, 'Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life." I reflected on what Jerry said.
Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it. Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in the restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combinations. The robbers panicked and shot him.
Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body. I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.
"The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live."
"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man.' I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I said. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."
Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

Country Life Versus City Life
Summary: Compares living in the country vs. living in the city. Considers how the two different types of living differ. Concludes that the country lifestyle is much better and relaxed than city lifestyle.

The country lifestyle is much better and relaxed than city lifestyle. These two different types of livings have a lot in differences; the job market, the environment and even the people are where most of these differences could be found.
The job market in the country is smaller than the job markets that could be found in the cities. In the country people have their farm and even their own stores but in the cities people are mostly working for companies operated or even owned by a bigger company. Also in the country people are more open in exchanging goods and services in return for such and in the cities it is only the money that makes everything possible. Peace of mind also comes free in the country simply because there is less to worry and stress about.
The environment in the country is by far beyond comparison with the cities, there are less pollution, fewer factories and less noise in the country; where as the cities are filled with cars and factories which are the essential reasons to noise and pollution.
At last but not least the people living the different lifestyles in both cities and the country have a huge difference. The people n the country are less stressed and more happy simply because there is less items in their mind and life to deal with and they also tend to be more friendly towards others, but the people in the city have a lots to deal with and it sometimes gets over their shoulders and this causes them to be more on their guard and sometimes hurt others.
It is with proving of the reasons above shown very clearly that the country lifestyle is much better than the city lifestyle. But than again it is a choice made by people based on their personality and their way of life where they would like to settle and live.

...An essay is usually a short piece of writing. It is often written from an author's personal point of view. Essays can be literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author. The definition of an essay is vague, overlapping with those of an article and a short story. Almost all modern essays are written in prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essays (e.g. Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism and An Essay on Man). While brevity usually defines an essay, voluminous works like John Locke's An Essay Concerning Human Understanding and Thomas Malthus's An Essay on the Principle of Population provide counterexamples. It is very difficult to define the genre into which essays fall. Aldous Huxley, a leading essayist, gives guidance on the subject: Like the novel, the essay is a literary Abstract This article will examine the reasons why it is important both linguistically and psychologically to build a vocabulary quickly when learning a foreign language. The article asserts that very little can be achieved or learned in a foreign language with a small vocabulary and that by building a sizable vocabulary quite quickly one can soon be able to function adequately. ...HOW TO READ ESSAYS YOU MUST ANALYZE 1. Take a pencil in your hand. 2. Read the essay over once, quickly, looking for the main idea, for what the essay is about in general, and for what the author seems to be saying. Don't get bogged down in details. (If you come to an unfamiliar word, circle it but go on reading). 3. Check the meaning of unfamiliar words. If they seem to be key words, i.e., if the author uses them more than once, scribble a brief definition at the bottom of the page or at the end of the essay. 4. Now re-read more slowly and carefully, this time making a conscious attempt to begin to isolate the single most important generalization the author makes: his thesis. Follow his line of thought; try to get some sense of structure. The thesis determines the structure, so the structure, once you begin to sense it, can lead you to the thesis. What is the main point the author is making: Where is it? Remember, examples or "for instances" are not main points. The thesis is the generalization the author is attempting to prove valid. Your job, then is to ask yourself, "What is the author trying to prove"? Another way of identifying the thesis is to ask yourself, "What is the unifying principle of this essay"? or "What idea does everything in this essay talk about"? or "Under what single main statement could all the subdivisions fit"? If the author has stated his thesis fully and clearly and all in one place, your job is easier. The thesis is apt to be stated...

...Define Your Thesis For essays that are part of an Early Years Care & Education Degree, it is important to clearly define a thesis statement within the first paragraph of the essay. Even if you are given a topic to write, such as the importance of preschool classes in low-income neighborhoods, you need to develop a strong thesis in your own words. Here is an example: "Preschool classes in low-income neighborhoods are a crucial step in helping all children enter elementary school at the same educational level, regardless of the income of the family." Once you have defined a clear thesis, you can proceed to the rest of your essay. However, without a clear thesis, your essay will not hold up. Use Examples The majority of your essay should be a careful and clear argument that supports your thesis statement. Do research and cite as many examples as possible to prove your point. For an essay about the merits of all-day educational opportunities for preschool-aged children, check trustworthy sources such as the National Association for the Education of Young Children and national PTA. Provide each point in a strong and complete paragraph. Each paragraph should have a main statement, supporting information and a conclusion. Tie In Conclusion After you have made your argument, state your conclusion in a clear and concise manner. Whether you have proven that the teacher ratio in a preschool setting should be lower than 4 to 1 or made a case for more national funding for the education...

...Carmen Hollow Mr. Beurskens College English Critique Essay: The Morals of the Prince May 3, 2011 The Grey Area between Good and Evil: A Critique of “The Morals of the Prince” by Niccolo Machiavelli Introduction We’ve all made a promise that we couldn’t keep and we have all felt bad about breaking those promises. Whether it was a promise to our parents, our children or a co-worker, we don’t feel good about it, but sometimes it can’t be helped. Usually if we couldn’t keep a promise it was for a good reason and not a selfish one. To the person that we made the promise to, we may be viewed as uncaring or unreliable, but to ourselves we know that we had to make a decision that could hurt someone but at the same time our decision could help that same person or persons. Making a promise and not being able to keep it for one reason or another, is one of the few topics that Machiavelli writes of in his essay “The Morals of the Prince”. He also tells why he believes a prince should be feared rather than loved, and why a prince should be stingy and not generous. He wants us to know how a “perfect” prince should act and behave so that the prince will be viewed upon as a great prince. Summary Machiavelli writes about how he believes a prince should act and behave to be considered a successful prince, one that is loved and feared, liberal and stingy, one that knows when to keep his word and when to break it. In his essay, Machiavelli writes “a prince who wants to keep his post...

...Basic techniques for generating ideas. Brainstorming. Brainstorming consists in writing series of words or sentences just as they flow from our mind, although they have no logical order or connections.
