ESTP Personality Type

What makes an ESTP tick?

The Dominant function is the perceptive one of Sensing. Characteristics associated with this function include: • Likes looking at information in terms of facts and details • Focuses more on the here and now rather than possibilities for the future • Feels comfortable in areas of proven experience • Takes a realistic approach
The perceptive Sensing function is extraverted. That is, Sensing is used primarily to govern the outer world of actions and spoken words. The ESTP will therefore: • Seek to experience and enjoy the world as it is • Be very responsive to current events, with life tending to be a succession of events • Be pragmatic in nature, constantly seeking to change the world to the way the ESTP wants it to be • Observe in an objective way, valuing facts without necessarily putting an interpretation upon them
The Sensing function is primarily supported by introverted Thinking judgment. That is, thinking judgment is used primarily to manage the inner world of thoughts and emotions. This will modify the way that the Sensing is directed, by: • focusing the (outer world) Sensing on impersonal facts and logical options • tending to enjoy action and events for themselves rather than for the company of others • leading to enjoyment of material possessions
The classic temperament of an ESTP is Dionesian, or Sanguine, for whom freedom is a basic driving force - seeking to experience and enjoy life.

Contributions to the team of an ESTP

In a team environment, the ESTP can contribute by: • making things happen, with an action-oriented approach • building a lively 'can-do' atmosphere, which generates team spirit • focusing on practical ideas • applying a common sense approach to problem solving • maintaining awareness of the

Communication and Collaboration Strategy Paper

...Communication and Collaboration Strategy Paper As we know that everyone is unique and different, the same goes for the uniqueness and difference in their learning styles and the role of their personality type, when it comes to learning communicating and collaborating within a team. That is why different strategies for effective communications and collaborations need to be created for groups of individuals with different learning styles and different personality types. According to the book, Becoming a Lifelong Learner (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007) three of the many different learning styles are: interpersonal, intrapersonal and verbal-linguistic. Beginning with one of the different learning styles, in specific the verbal-linguistic style, a good strategy for effective communications and collaborations with this learner, is to make sure you recognize the different characteristics of this learning style. For example students with this learning style like to write, they enjoy telling stories, they like to read, they express themselves clearly, they are good in negotiating, and like to discuss topics that interest them. Based on this, a verbal-linguistic learner will require assignments that require writing papers, and book reading, just to mention a few. On another learning style like the intrapersonal learner, some of the characteristics of this student are that he needs quiet time to think, this student is interested in self improvement, he understands his thoughts...

In our culture, most persons can be categorized as one of six types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, or Conventional. 2. There are six model environments: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, or Conventional. 3. People search for environments that will let them exercise their skills and abilities, express their attitudes and values, and take on agreeable problems and roles. Behavior is determined by an interaction between personality and environment. (Holland, 1992) The assessment groups people into six personality types; Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, enterprising, conventional. These six types were developed by asking people about their interests, and since interests and personality are closely related, he was able to define the personalities and then build the test to help users select which personality type they were. The assessment allows users to be grouped into more than one category, as most people have some level of overlap in the different groups and uses the three most predominant ones to predict the correct occupational area for the user. I used the test to find out that my most dominating personality trait was enterprising...
