To all the students going to try new things, and just starting their lives. I'm a cousin of a man who died at age 21 from the never ending addiction to heroin. The moment the news was heard, the close people around him were crushed like part of them had died with him. His younger brother, who looked up to him his whole life, lost his role model. He appeared as if he had everything. He was smart, athletic and well liked by all who met him. He got straight A's and was in the midst of college. He always cracked jokes and hung out with his friends. There was always a group of guys out playing basketball or some sport and he was there making the best of his life. He was making new friends everyday. One life changing day Patrick tried drugs and was hooked instantly. He slowly started getting new friends and not the good kind. The new friends were leading him away from the good things he always did and into drugs. He was becoming distant from his family and friends. What a shame it is to have a man just twenty-one years old lose so much. He was on a path heading downward fast, and it effected everything good in his life. Patrick was going to graduate from collage and start his life. Sadly, it was cut way to short from his untimely death from drugs. Having life cut short because of the stupid mistake of using drugs is not one of these plans. God shows many examples in the Bible through His son such as the Seven Deadly Sins and the Ten Commandments. God gave us His son to show us the way to live. Jesus has been in several situations where he was tempted. One example is Jesus being tempted in the dessert. In Matthew 4:1-11, the devil came to Jesus while he was in the desert and said to him, "If you are the son of God tell these stones to become bread". Then in response Jesus said, "It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Therefore every moment that the temptation is drawing near, you need to turn to God. He will help drug users. God has an answer for everything. In general, drugs relate to the Seven Deadly Sins, but there is one in particular that relates specifically to drug use. Gluttony or forcing something your body doesn’t want into it such as food and other substances. In the Catholic Church, it is considered one of the worst sins a person can commit. Taking drugs orally or with a needle are very bad for you and this is not what God wants for anyone. Using drugs also goes against the Ten Commandments, more specifically the fifth one that states, "Thou shall not kill". Abusing drugs can kill your body physically, but can also kill your mood and also bring down everyone around you. No earthly or spiritual good can come out
