What is Event Marketing?
Event marketing is a promotional strategy that involves face-to face contact between companies and their customers at special events like concerts, fairs, and sporting event. Brand use event marketing entertainment (like shows, contest, or parties) to reach customers with sample or displays. Event marketing campaign provides value to the people beyond information about product or service. Event marketing targets specific individuals or group at gathering spots hoping to make some great impressions.

Event Marketing, who employs it?
If a business is able to track and identify their target audience, they can find ways to appeal to them. A good example would be if a company sell hunting gear, then they can market at a hunting event. If a company provide a product, then they can give out samples as long as that sample is not illegal. For the companies that cannot hand out sample such as pharmaceutical or doctors’ offices can set up interactive experiences to consumers.

Event Marketing, how is it developed?
Event marketing is rare because each event is approached differently. Most marketing team do not have to come up with plans, instead they base each event marketing tactic upon the brand and fits it into the event. Companies consider three aspects when doing an event marketing plan. The company first consider the personality their brand trying to convey. Example like Coca-Cola has tried to place their product as a harbinger of global, happiness and simple. Second, companies must keep their target audience in mind. Third, companies need to know what lasting impression they wish to leave on their audiences.

.... Internal Processes Internal processes are the functions that an organization engages in so as to offer the consumer a final product or service as put in Legace (2004). Ryanair internal processes entail ticketing, baggage handling and in flight services to the airlines passengers. The airlines low cost strategy is dependent on its ability to operate on low cost budget. Ryan air achieves this by ensuring that all its internal processes are operated in a manner that results in cost reduction. For example it uses a one aircraft type to reduce maintenance and repurchase cost associated with using a variety of air crafts, it contracts its ticketing and baggage handling services, ensure staff cost are reduced by pegging them on productivity and also closely motors its marketing and promotional cost. RYANAIR’S STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENT According to Doyle (2010, p.7) the organizations strategic environment plays a major role in the organization failure or success. It also determines the strategies adopted by an organization. The strategic environment consist of economic, technological, political, industry factors, competitive factors and the organizational internal factors as put in Stonehouse et al (2004, p.115). The strategic environment can be analyzed using tools for analyzing the macro and micro environment. Stonehouse et al (2004, p.115) says that the analysis of the organizations macro and micro environment form the basis for the organization strategy formulation. ...In the article, IT Focus shifts to social, brand management, by Ben Rooney, it discussed how brand management is becoming, “one of the most important functions of business computing as companies shift away from simply processing historic data, to seeking out ways to interact with, and to influence consumers.” (Rooney, 2013) Informatica Corpo located in California wants to find a way to facilitate interactions in order to optimize brand management via social media. This article is important to marketing management because this company is trying to plan and execute a way to find out what their consumers like or dislike via social media. By doing this, they can know who to target as an individual but also affect that same individual. This would then help Informatica Corpo realize pricing and promotion to satisfy the target market of the customers they are trying to reach. When they do this, they will be able to know what their customers want and how to maintain that relationship. Current marketing management trends that are supported in this article are within marketing planning. The book defines marketing planning as the process produces three outputs: (1) establishing marketing objectives, (2) selecting the target marketing, and (3) developing the marketing mix. (Peter & Donnelly, p.22, 2013) Informatica Corpo is working on brand management but more specifically, selecting a target market. ... within the site of the event. The site was themed into country pavilions with designated paths and separate programs for VVIP delegations, distinguished guests, exhibitor’s and visitors to follow. This year's event witnessed the debut of new features: Cyber Security, Humanitarian & Disaster Relief (HADR) and transnational crime & non-conventional security threat in the wake of terrorism, piracy and transnational crimes like human trafficking. This indicates the evolution of the DSA series of events from mere exhibitions to becoming the needed platform for enhancing international cooperation and collaboration in tackling these threats of national security. From our analysis of the post event report on the DSA website, we found that the committee has also done well in operational planning and logistics, as evident from the multiple systems that are in place and the human resource available to make sure the event can be produced as planned. These systems include people processing systems, marketing systems, security and safety systems, protocol and service delivery systems, etc. Marketing of the event to target audiences is also numerous and varied. The type of publicity and advertising employed include e-bullets, technical trade journals, promotions at International Defence and Security Exhibitions and Asean Officers Personal Visits. Financing for the event is secured by payment for early booking of exhibition space and sponsorship packages offered...

Marketing Current Event

...ConAgra Foods has decided to move their headquarters to downtown Chicago. They had previously taken residence in Omaha and Naperville near Chicago. This decision is to have the main office under one roof. The main reason for this move is the tax incentives that are placed in Chicago. They have recently had a hard time selling their processed foods to a more educated consumer base. Healthy and beneficial foods are on the rise. This has been an issue for the unhealthy foods that ConAgra provides. They have also had to let go of many workers just like many other large corporations. This move has become a political move as well. The governors and mayors have issued inputs into the final move. They have pretty much begged the company to either stay or move to where they would benefit the most. ConAgra has studied consumers based on behavioral segmentation. They have had to recognize how their segment reacts to their unchanging foods. They divide on whether the new educated user will keep buying their product or will decide to move on with the rest of the modern society. ConAgra is using an undifferentiated targeting strategy. They are targeting a broad spectrum of people in their marketing. The action that the company is taking could be very beneficial. They get to take advantage of the tax incentives and also get to appeal to a more diverse group of consumers. In Chicago, they will have a more collective and unified company which usually results in higher morale. In the long...

Marketing Event in 2014

...Consumer behaviour and loyalty to a particular brand are of great importance to anyone working within the field of marketing and advertising. Whether we are talking about an object to be sold or a service to be provided the presentation and quality are the first thing that the consumer will take into account and that will determine by enlarge the success or failure of a brand or a particular product from a set corresponding to one brand. The examples I have chosen are products that provide the same functionalities to the consumer, however the way and the presentation that they accomplish this task is vastly different. The products I have chosen are Operating Systems and they are: Microsoft Windows 10 Technical Demo and Ubuntu 14.10. Both of them were released in October of 2014 and we will examine their properties as products and also the consumer reactions to the products themselves. First we must define the term Technical Demo. It can be defined as the incomplete product that provides basic functionalities that is released to the public for free, so that potential clients and customers can properly measure the utility and usefulness of the product or service. An analogy to this are free trial memberships for services, use of on-line shopping website (www.amazon.com). As know “consumers are a brand’s most important asset”. Knowing that a wise for a company to invest a significant amount of resources into research in the field of consumer behaviour in order to...
