Explain how the management of human, physical and technological resources can improve the performance of a selected organisation

In our earlier pass criteria 3 in assignment 1 we looked at the physical and technological resources required.

1. In a report or email, advise Peter Tong on how the human (staff), physical and technological resources will improve the productivity and performance of Computer Gadgets.

Human Resources

It is extremely significant and vital to have Management for the HR (human resources) department. As the management team are very crucial, it is highly needed for them to be able to find the correct method to their employees and be competent to administer and organise them in a professional manner. For the staff at Computer Gadgets to have the ability to achieve, complete and perform as efficiently as possible so that the manufacturing and the customer service quality is all increased, this would mean that the Human Resources would need to be very on point. Your business is able to manage and accomplish all of the human resources via many methods. The methods are as follows:

- Assessments
- Personal development planning
- Training and
- Motivation

An exceptionally important element to consider in the Human Resources Department, is the fact that when it comes to taking on and hiring new staff members, they would need to be equipped with the correct skills and especially qualifications. The correct qualifications are very much needed for a specific job, as well as the right training for the staff that don’t have the right and specific skills for a job.
It is very necessary for the management team for human resources to obligate and compel your employees into accomplishing every single one of their aims and objectives.

Physical Resources

It is a necessity for your company, Computer Gadgets, to be able to carry out all routine and everyday activities as well as running the business, consequently, it is vital to manage all physical resources in this company. There are many physical resources, and they are as follows:

- Equipment
- Facilities
- Machinery
- Building
- Premises
- Plants
- Waste and
- Materials

Every company, just like yours, must have a location with a building and premises. This is so that you are able to work and get everything done. Deficient or poor management would equal to production not being conceded as efficiently as it should, therefore the management of equipment is rightly compulsory.
Equipment such as software and all types of IT hardware needs to be managed, controlled and regulated as cautiously and warily as possible. This is very important especially for your company, Computer Gadgets as you mainly sell hardware, such as keyboards, scanners, printers and others.

Software is another very important element that must be managed. Software needs to be protected due to the fact that this is what makes the computer run and work. Your company, Computer Gadgets needs to make sure that their software is top-notch and very up to date, as they would be working with a large amount of their customer’s devices. Not only is software important for the customer, but it is vital for the company as well. Safety is extremely significant and key and it is an immense importance and they are as follows:

- First aid equipment
- CCTV
- Fire equipment
- Security alarms
- Fire alarms and
- Escapes

Examples of the facilities that must have the need for management are as follows:

- Gadget room
- Experiments rooms
- Reception
- Waiting room and
- Fixing room

All of these rooms must be managed properly and orderly so that the customers can feel comfortable when they arrive, and also so that the staff can feel comfortable and safe themselves. All equipment and machinery is also very important. They must be upgraded and serviced every now and again so that you have the best equipment available and no crashing occurs. Machinery needs to be supervised so that there are no accidents, especially if the equipment has not been upgraded for a while.

Technological Resources

These resources are directed and ordered just in the same way as the physical resources are managed. Things such as text, software and music are all types of technological resources and there are four main areas where these resources can be categorised:

- Intellectual property
- Software licencing
- Gathered experience and skills
- Patents and copyright

An example of protection and management is software licensing. Software licensing is a license which gives a permit to the software to be set up onto a personal PC or a public PC.
Copyright and patenting are extremely important and they must be done properly to be able to come to affect. Both patenting and copyright need management for the products that are made by you, Computer Gadgets, are protected properly.

Over all, I strongly believe that it is highly significant and essential for you to manage every single one of your resources, specifically and mainly the ones which I have mentioned in this report. Reasons for this are due to the fact that the performance of the business would rise and grow, as well as the publicity of the business and the profits.
