FACILITY PLANNING: SUTTER EXPRESS CARE
In reference to choosing a facility close to my living area, surprisingly I found Sutter Express Care located in an actual Rite Aid on Del Paso Road. Sutter Express Care is basically a walk-in medical clinic, which is located inside of the local Rite Aid store(s) right next to their pharmacy. The facility appears to be small, provides quick, efficient, convenient health care for common health care conditions, and is available to treat individuals who are not able to see their doctor.
Patients will be able to see a nurse practitioner/physician assistant, get prescriptions, and get back on the road in no time. Going to a Sutter Express Care would be efficient enough for visits to take 20-30 minutes, no appointments necessary, no insurance necessary (whereas most health plans are accepted), is affordable for a flat rate of $75, and is open 7 days a week.
It is open for practically anyone who is 18 months of age or older, you do not have to see a Sutter doctor, and at the end of a patients visit they provide directions for follow-up care and report to the patients doctor. Each clinic is staffed by an actual nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant who has advanced training and will be able to diagnose and be able to properly prescribe medication for common conditions.
Sutter Express Care clinics provide additional medical services such as immunizations, sport physicals, treatment for common illnesses like the flu among other respiratory infections. They also offer healthy living programs like their Lean for Life 10-week weight loss program and also a customized tobacco termination program.
The clinics are very much a part of Sutter Health, which is known to be a family of highly respected doctors, nurses and

Facility Planning Part 1

...Facility Planning Part 1 HCS/446 June 24, 2013 Royann Schmidgall Facility Planning Part 1 There are numerous stages involved when stakeholders think about remodeling or building a new facility. There are three specific stages when deciding to remodel or build. Stage one is the planning and defining the hospital project. This includes a strategic plan, needs assessment, and concept design. Stage two is the design development, schematic design, construction documentation, and building permits. Stage three involves the financial aspect of planning. During this phase bidding, licensing, construction, and evaluation are taking place (California Healthcare Foundation, n.d.). According to Tradition Medical Center (2013), “Martin Health System is a not-for-profit, community-based health care organization that has served the region for more than 70 years” (para. 6). This paper will outline the need for a new building, the population it is serving, a description of the new building, and a URL link for the floor plan for review. Community and Facility Needs Martin Health System has served the local community for more than 70 years. According to Martin Health System (2013) their “mission is to provide exceptional health care, hope, and compassion to every patient, every time” (para. 6). It offers variety of care to include acute and primary care, preventative services, cardiac care, cancer care, and rehabilitation services. Currently Martin Health System has two hospitals...

Facility Planning Part 1

...Facility Planning Part I University of Phoenix HCS/466 February 1, 2012 Facility Planning Part I In my community there is a significant need for an urgent care facility. The emergency room in my community is providing care for uninsured, and emergencies at the moment. If it was an urgent care facility for the ambulatory patients who are uninsured; this would take a huge load off the emergency room, and it would allow true emergencies to be treated accordingly. Currently many services that can be rendered in such a setting are done at the hospital as an outpatient service. This service uses up valuable resources, which could be used for inpatient population is an urgent care facility existed. This community would function very well by developing an urgent care facility that gives much needed services without the headache of hospital waiting time, and hospital registration. Patients presently take up valuable space in the community emergency room or may travel a very long distance to an urgent care facility. Many patients cannot afford the traveling expense, which include gas and mileage for his or her health care. This needed facility does not supersede the patient primary care physician. An urgent care facility is an accessible option when a patient’s regular physician is unavailable and is unable to offer a timely appointment, or when sickness strikes up after normal office hours. Urgent care offers a better alternative instead of waiting in an emergency room for hours...

Facility Planning – Facility Selection: Part 1 & 2

...Facility Planning – Facility Selection: Part 1 & 2 In health care there are many different facility types; one in particular is an outpatient clinic. Outpatient clinics are facilities which provide medical care and treatments that do not require an overnight stay in a medical facility or hospital. An outpatient care can be managed in a medical office or even in a hospital, but mostly services are provided in a medical office or in an outpatient surgery center (About Careers, 2014). One facility in particular is the Clarksville Community Based Outpatient Clinic located in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Clarksville outpatient clinic first opened up in the year 2000 and started providing services for all veterans in the Kentucky and also Tennessee areas. This is a most active clinic, with close proximity to the Fort Campbell base, for the Operation Iraqi freedom/ Operation Enduring freedom returnees (Department of V.A., 2014). The Clarksville Community Based Outpatient Clinic provides primary care as well as mental health services to all veterans of the area. Also provided in the facility are laboratories for blood drawings and prescription services are provided as well. This particular outpatient clinic has recently undergone a new renovation this year to add on more patient rooms to recruit new patients as well as more employees to serve all of the individuals of the clinic (Department of V.A., 2014). The Clarksville veteran’s population had been served by the Department of Veterans...

The level of detail and thought that one must consider when designing a facility came full circle. As the designer I was force to consider details such as layout of furniture, equipment to be used, storage spaces, layout patient care area, nurses’ station and administration space. The rules and regulation from federal, state and local agencies were also factored during the design process. Steps to Complete Floor Plan. All Facility design and construction projects must comply with all applicable state building code requirements and all applicable local, state, and federal agency regulations. Health care Facility Regulation (HFR), a division of the Department of Community Health (DCH), is responsible for health care planning, licensing, certification and oversight of various health care facilities and services in my home state of Georgia. Most government agencies expect health facilities to conform to the mandatory standard. According to The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) “A mandatory standard is generally published as part of a code, rule or regulation by a regulatory government body and imposes an obligation on specified parties to conform to it” (The National Institute of Standards and Technology...

...During the initial planning and design process construction and operational requirements of a commercial airport are established. The requirements are governed by the FAA under airport certification requirements identified in 14 CFR 139. Security systems, methods, and procedures within the construction and operational process are the obligation of TSA. The Federal Security Director (FSD) is the designated TSA official that approves the required Airport Security Program (ASP) document, the document identifies how the airport will meet security requirements. The FSD and local FAA Airports Division officials should be consulted during all phases of the project. Airport operators must integrate a Safety Management System process into their overall plan in accordance with FAA rules. Airports must establish hazard reporting systems, a risk assessment process, and a risk mitigation and assurance process with the participation of airport management. The best way to implement security in a facility is through advance planning and continuous monitoring throughout the project. Selecting, constructing, or modifying a facility without considering security for the general public, the facility, passengers, and airport and air carrier personnel can result in costly modifications. All physical security upgrades should be based on applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and policies to ensure the protection of all persons and assets (including information systems and...

Theme Park Design Guidelines

... Overview Simplicity in design and restraint in construction creates park facilities suited to what attracts visitors in the first place – recreation in the natural park landscape. q The aim of Park Design Guidelines & Data is to help BC Parks staff use their park expertise to produce appropriate facility landscapes. These guidelines identify design criteria and planning processes for BC Parks staff to provide sustainable, appropriate park recreation facilities. They promote facility design that requires the least visible development. q A design approach to visitor facilities is defined that: Recognizing the facilities are an integral part of a park means reducing the impact of use and basing planning and design decisions on local and regional considerations – for the park environment’s long term health. Maintaining natural park landscapes and environments will help ensure the quality of visitor experiences now and in the future. At neighbouring Bromley Rock Provincial Park and Stemwinder Provincial Park, illustrated left, natural site elements create facilities that blend into the natural park landscapes.
