love changed me.. the way i think, the way i act, the way i decide.. sometimes, i even go againsts my principles and beliefs in life.. loving doesn't mean i'll always be happy.. sometimes, all it provides me is pain and misery.. yet i was blinded by strong emotions that i failed to see reality.. sometimes, letting go is the answer.. it hurts like hell, but i will soon realize that it's better to see the person i love to be happy with someone else than to be lonely with me.. how could you probably be friends with someone when everytime you look at that person you want to slap his face and shout:
"stop smiling, your stealing my heart.."

It's time to let you go, it's time to say goodbye. There's no more excuses, no more tears to cry. There's been so many changes, I was so confused. All along you were the one, all the time I never knew. I want you to be happy, you're my best friend, but it's so hard to let you go now; all that could have been.
It's not the goodbye that hurts, but the flashbacks that follow.
Second chances dont always mean a happy ending. Sometimes, its just another chance to end things right.
I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.

Thesis About Study Habits

...vente2 haylie marie dumayag hjedThesis About Study Habits BSTRACT Study skills are fundamental to academic competence. Effective study skills are associated with positive out comes across multiple academic content areas and for diverse learners. The purpose of this article is to describe an information-processing perspective on the contribution of study skills to academic competence, and to identify evidence-based strategies that are effective in helping students to improve their study skills. Study habit, skill, and attitude inventories and constructs were found to rival standardized tests and previous grades as predictors of academic performance, yielding substantial incremental validity in predicting academic performance. We found that study skill inventories and constructs are largely independent of both high school grades and scores on standardized admissions tests but moderately related to various personality constructs; these results are inconsistent with previous theories. Study motivation and study skills exhibit the strongest relationships with both grade point average and grades in individual classes. Academic specific anxiety was found to be an important negative predictor of performance. In addition, significant variation in the validity of specific inventories is shown. Scores on traditional study habit and attitude inventories are the most predictive of performance, whereas scores on inventories based on the popular depth-of-processing...

Results of an experiment conducted with 124 financial analysts suggest that when analysts perceive such disclosures as plausible, they provide higher earnings forecasts and stock valuations than if the explanation had not been provided. However, we also show that these disclosures can backfire if analysts find them implausible. Specifically, implausible explanations that blame poor performance on temporary external factors lead We appreciate the helpful comments of Holly Ashbaugh, Charlie Bailey, Sudipta Basu, Robert Bloomfield (the referee), Jennifer Joe, Jay Koehler, Mark Kohlbeck, Lisa Koonce, Bob Lipe, Stan Markov, Ella Mae Matsumura, Brian Mayhew, Jeff Miller, Pam Murphy, Lisa Sedor, Siew Hong Teoh, Kristy Towry, Terry Warfield, Greg Waymire, Jerry Zimmerman (the editor), and seminar participants at University of Georgia, Harvard University, University of Notre Dame, Ohio State University, Rice University, University of Wisconsin—Madison, the 2003 AAA Financial Accounting...

Many children are now starting to feel the pressures of our society and are beginning to show higher signs of stress and anxiety. One way that we can begin to deal with these “over stressed” students is to try to reach out to them in our schools. Guidance counselors and teachers often have more contact with students each week than parents do, therefore a logical place to begin de-stressing these students is in school. Schools need to look...

...Counseling and Personnel Services University of Maryland, College Park The present study serves as an examination and documentation of referral and placement outcomes of English Language Learner (ELL) cases in Instructional Consultation (IC) Teams schools. Archival data from 838 cases (12% of which were ELL cases) within five mid-Atlantic public school districts implementing IC Teams were analyzed for outcomes using logistic regression. Results included statistically significant differences in ELL versus non-ELL student initial team referral (IC or other prereferral intervention team) and ultimate IEP Team referrals. Initial referral concerns also differed significantly between ELL and non-ELL students. IC Teams were found to be more effective than existing prereferral intervention teams in decreasing the special education referrals of ELL and non-ELL students. The results of the present study serve as a foundation for future research in the areas of at-risk ELL students and their referrals to prereferral intervention teams and special education.
