Many people have always been fascinated by carnival rides. It shocks themselves that normal, ordinary people eagerly trade in the quietness of the ground for the chance to be tossed through the air like a bowling ball knocking out pins. It stuns the fans that at some time in history someone thought that people would enjoy this. That person who invented the Ferris wheel must have been a genius with this being the first of these terrifying machines. For the sake of the terrified people, the Ferris wheel ride would hope to have a very smoothly transition. The Ferris wheel ride outside of the Staten Island mall was going to be thrilling.
The first experience on the carnival ride for the people that haven’t seen or rid the Ferris wheel before at a local fair was at the Staten Island mall. Staying still at the entrance, some of the kids has small hands which were held firmly by a larger hand belonging to a much more confidant mom or dad, but it will still be a first time experience for them and others. The flashing lights, the melody of circuited music and screaming had all the people gawking at anything and everything that they saw happened upon them. But what caught and kept the people attention was the Ferris wheel that seemed to torture their occupants every time ridden. People that were looking ahead at the horizon; the evil Ferris wheel ride was getting bigger and bigger every time you took a step. People waiting at the line felt swallowed from the fear deep inside of them. But unluckily the ride started out of nowhere and people are already screaming their lungs out and some were watching them, speechless. The Ferris wheel was very huge, smoky hot, noisy and a lot frightening from a close angle. Since that initial impression became stacked in the viewers head, it was feeling overwhelming. In their imagination many years ago, the Ferris wheel ride have reminded the people of legendary beasts, and amazing dinosaurs carrying off their screaming passengers like soul reapers. Even the buzzing sound of their circular engines brings to mind the great roar of a fire-breathing komodo dragon with smoke vomiting from its exhaust-pipe nostrils. But the imagination in your head can interpret ate different types of feelings and sounds, but this time it was precise to the fullest.
The first time on the Ferris wheel ride was a furious big beast that gave the people an instant rush when the death-defying ride started with a loop. A lump on the kids small throat sounded like a displace heart ready to walk the plank into the ocean like a Tom and Jerry cartoon. As the ride gained more speed on the second cycle, the resistance to gravity like going to outer space built up against the people’s body until they weren’t unable to move. An almost unnoticeable pause, the wheel reached the top of its mountain and its climb allowed the peoples body to relax in a brief state of relaxation before the big drop. Then there was an assault of stomach-turning weightlessness as the Ferris wheel continued its speedy rotation. It sprang back all the people sitting on the hard brick seat, back toward the earth. A drumstick-like crash vibrated through the air like shockwaves as the wheel reached the bottom. Much to the people that were surprise, they began to rise up again with a feeling that this ride would never end.
Each new rotation gave each single person more confidence in the churning machine. Every climb left everyone ecstatic that they had survived the previous death-defying fall from the mountaintop of Mount Everest. When another nerve-wracking climb failed to follow the other lasting exhilarating droppings; it just felt plain. The ride was over; the fine citizens of New York knew that they were hooked for good. Physically and emotionally drained, every single kid, adult, parents, and the elderly followed each other down the clanging metal steps to reach the safety of their former balance. After reaching their balance, the fans of the ride; were then seeing the top who one could see the stars and moon reflecting down towards their glorious eyes. The fans that were non-fans had been spared through the journey of a turnaround rollercoaster, but only to have the opportunity to ride again, WHAT?
That night at the Staten Island mall was an unforgettable moment for each person that attended the fair to ride the scary Ferris wheel with guts and glory. The fascination with these fantastic mid-air, turnaround flights is deeply engrained to each person soul. A trip on the wonderful Ferris wheel never fails to thrill and scare the people that want it or don’t want it. The thrill and excitement of a carnival ride keeps the people coming back for more and more until they have nothing left in the tank. Although each person are becoming older by the year and are having less time, or less feeling, to play, the child-like thrill comes out. Each person that has been on the Ferris wheel before continues the trend every time coming to the fair, which is located at the parking lot of the Staten Island mall.
