Research Review

...proposed for research seem very well developed. The only potential problem I can see with your questions is the possible problem that you didn’t thoroughly link sustainability to your major field. I see that you have a very clear link with sustainability but it seems as if you have possible left out the link to your major field. I would suggest that you specify what your major field is and what kind of field biosorption deals with. I am guessing that biosorption has to deal with either the chemistry or biology field but I am not sure and I would recommend specifying which field it deals with and making that connection clear. Other than the potential link to your major field possibly missing the questions look very good. POTENTIAL FOR RESEARCH QUESTIONS: The questions you have provided for research seem to me like they have a very good potential to yield a very successful research paper. I think that your primary question is specific enough to be answered thoroughly with well-developed answers in a short research paper. The questions you have provided also do not have a yes or no answer and require a more in depth answer which will be beneficial to you when writing your research paper. The questions also seem to cover the area of biosorption very well and seem like they link that topic to sustainability in a very good manner. The only suggestion I have for you is to revise your questions and make sure you are making a specific connection to your major field of study......

... CHIP HEATH* AND SIM B. SITKLN Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, Durham, NC 27708, U.S.A. Summary This paper is an empirically grounded essay about the current stare of organizational behavior (GB) research and productive future directions. We report the results of a survey of GB scholars about the current importance of various research topics and their importance in an ideal world. We compare the survey responses with an archival analysis of papers published in leading GB journals over a 10-year period. We suggest that many of the topics that our respondents perceive to be ‘under researched’ can be summarized with one particular definition of GB that emphasizes organizing behavior. Considering all three definitions together, we highlight the limitations of the traditional (Big-B and Contextualized-B) definitions and discuss the benefits of a more organizational (Big-O) approach. Copyright ~ 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. Introduction The purpose of this empirical essay is to be provocative. This paper is empirical in that it surveys leading organizational hehavior (GB) scholars to identify which topics they believed are currently important in the field and which should be important in an ‘ideal’ world and we compared their responses to an archival analysis of papers published in leading GB journals over a 10 year period. However, the paper is an essay because it is less like a traditional theory-building or theory-testing study, and more like an......

...level. There’s a reason that not everyone does this! Entering your studies with a clear purpose and sense of direction, informed by a thorough understanding of new responsibilities and expectations, can help you to adapt better to the new demands of Masters and Ph.D. level research, organization, presentation, and writing. Perfectionism. Many academics would characterize themselves as perfectionists. To a certain extent, this is a healthy trait that promotes self-awareness and hard work. However, perfectionism can also be crippling as it can make you feel as if you can’t write a paper or make a comment unless it is absolutely brilliant. Remember, you are a student, not an expert. You are discovering new terms, concepts, and areas of study. Your first draft or class presentation will never be perfect, so don’t put too much pressure on yourself. The Counselling Centre offers excellent support for perfectionism. However, senior year in my Biomedical Engineering class I was told each week I had to research an article that was somehow related to the class. I had to read the research/article thoroughly, write a three to four page research paper and present my findings in front of the class. However by doing these research papers helped me shape my career aspiration and also helped prepare me for college level research papers. The first article I read that grabbed my attention was “Thoughts Control Robotic Hands”. The criminal justice practioners needs a sound foundation in the research process and terminology to be effective.
