Final Assessment

...I've seen many approaches to the final paper over the years. I'll try and provide some general guidance, but many of you know by now that risks are likely to be rewarded. I'd like you to use information from this course, either a single concept or multiple theories, to support your paper on leadership. Some people have written about themselves, some have written about great leaders in history, some have written about needed leadership traits to address specific homeland security threats and others have decided to do something very different. Remember to reference your paper and I believe a paper's organization is an important part of how you tell your story. Much like previous papers, feel free to be creative and use this information (or lack of information) as an opportunity to be creative. The final course deliverable, the personal leadership portfolio, is created by incorporating targeted leadership knowledge development, self-assessment assignments, and homeland security or public safety leadership analysis. The portfolio represents a personal understanding and plan of public safety leadership based on the course research, textbooks, module content, conferences, reports, simulation, and your leadership performance. The process requires weekly demonstration of leadership knowledge development through conference discussion opportunities and leadership self-assessment assignments. The submissions are assessed for accuracy and completeness against project......

Chick-Fil-a Training Needs Assessment and Recommendations Final

...Chick-Fil-A Training and Development Thomas Hunter Clifton Norton Matthew Todd Keller Graduate School of Management Chick-Fil-A Training Needs Assessment And Recommendations Chick-Fil-A opened its first store in Atlanta, Georgia in 1967. It has continued to grow at a steady pace and now has over 1,700 locations across the United States. The popular restaurant has recorded 45 consecutive years of positive sales growth and, “System-wide sales in 2012 reached 4.6 billion.” (Company Fact Sheet, 2014). Chick-Fil-A is still a private, family owned company that offers franchise opportunities to well qualified entrepreneurs. Their growth model is deliberately slow, building on a firm foundation of conservative business practices. The success is attributed in part from the founder’s firm decision to close its doors every Sunday. The idea is that “…all franchised Chick-fil-A Operators and their Restaurant employees should have an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so.” (Why We’re Closed on Sundays, 2014). The focus for this project is on the Chick-Fil-A store located at 7990 North Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO. This location is used for many of the pilot programs that test the suitability of new procedures and equipment before chain-wide implementation. During an interview with the Director of Training, Brad Beck said about his training philosophy, “99 percent of a successful training program is fitting...

Assessments

...Career Assessment One of the most popular personality tests in the world is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a psychological-assessment system based on the work of psychologist Carl Jung. The MBTI asks a person to answer a series of ‘forced-choice’ questions, where one choice identifies you as belonging to one of four paired traits. The basic test takes twenty minutes, and at the end you are presented with a precise, multi-dimensional summary of your personality. The MBTI test classifies people into types based on four opposing dimensions, Extraversion-Introversion (E-I), Sensing-Intuition (S-N), Thinking-Feeling (T-F) and Judging-Perceiving (J-P). Based on the answers to the questions on the inventory, people are identified as having one of 16 personality types. The goal of the MBTI is to allow someone the ability to further explore and understand their own personalities including their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, possible career predilections, and compatibility with other people. Taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can provide a lot of insight into your personality, which is probably why the instrument has become so enormously popular. Each opposing aspect of the MBTI test helps to explore personality a little more. The Extraversion-Introversion (E-I) helps show a preference for focusing attention on, and drawing energy from, the outside world of people and things rather than the inner world of ideas and impressions. Sensing-Intuition......

...between summative and formative assessments Formative assessment gives feedback and information during the instructional process- during the learning that occurs. This type of assessment measures the learner's progress and also that of the instructor. The main focus of formative assessment is to identify areas that need help or improvement. These check the learning progress and the effectiveness of the teaching methods and activities. Types of formative assessments include observations, homework exercises, question and answer sessions, and student. Formative assessment occurs during a course or programme of study which the teacher implements. It is often informal. This shows effective learning and the need for modifications. Formative assessment is assessment for learning. Uses for formative assessment: •facilitates learning •determine whether learning has occurred •provide feedback on learners' progression, signs for improvement •diagnose needs/barriers of learning and changes needed to change the course/programme •current strategies and methods can be adapted and accommodating •monitors the learning process Summative assessment occurs after learning and provides information and feedback that summarises and concludes the teaching and learning process. Rubrics are designed with set standards and are communicated to learners before the task so they know what is expected of them.
