The stronger the evidence the more likely an intervention is to be accepted into clinical practice. According to Houser (2012, p.471) it is recommended to determine that study satisfies general requirements of inclusion in an integrative review, meets screening criteria as a qualitative study, its level of evidence based on standards of trustworthiness and strength of recommendations based on quality of evidence. A study satisfies requirements for inclusion in review if it was published in peer-reviewed journal and if the problem addressed in the study meets criteria for inclusion in a review. There are five levels of evidence that can be assigned to a study using a somewhat formalized process described by Houser (2012, p.275). Level 1 study has the highest possible standards of evidence and while Level 5 has the lowest(Houser, 2012). To be classified as Level 1 study, it has to meet the standards for transferability, credibility, dependability and verifiability. The strength of recommendations is assigned according to three grades A though C. Grade A level studies are supported by one or more Level 1 studies while Grade C are only supported by no higher than Level 4 studies(Houser, 2012). By examining the studies levels of evidence and grades are determined according to various standards. Depending on the assigned level and grade results of such studies can be considered for implementation in a clinical practice(Houser, 2012). Thus a Level 1 and Grade A study is much easier to translated into practice rather than Level 4 and Grade C. When incorporating evidence-based practice patient/family preferences are important because of the autonomy principle that protects a basic patient right for self-determination.

...First Paper The traditional retail model has focused on finding high-margin, high-volume products or services because limited space means reduced space inventory. For example, organizations such as Walmart select the biggest hits from the broadest genres, called the “short head.” The short head means Walmart will only carry a select mix of country, pop, and rock that is calculated to provide the greatest cost/benefit. The business model of Amazon is different. Amazon provides the short head but also provides the “long tail” of more than 100,000 different audio selections. The competition for customers between the Walmart and Amazon marketplace is profoundly changing the face of retail business today. Using the assigned reading and the Argosy University online library resources, find at least three scholarly articles that address similar current trends related to e-business and how e-business is changing the face of businesses today. Using your company or a real-world example from your research, respond to the following: * Describe how technology is changing the face of businesses today. * Describe the most critical business processes that utilize information systems in your selected company. * Explain how IT makes the company’s business processes faster, cheaper, more accurate, and customer-savvy than that of competitors. * Cite at least three sources found in your online library research. First Amendment Paper

...First Amendment Paper San Juana Campos 4/15/2013 HIS/301 Mr. Garcia Introduction The ancestors ratified the first amendment of the US constitution in 1791, which formed the basis of Bill of Rights. It is imperative to assert that this amendment contains five provisions, which include choice of vocalization, press, and religion. Other provisions include the rights to petition, as well as assembly. The first amendment is critical since it shields some of the significant, fundamental human rights, as well as reflecting on concerns, which the government may ignore (Patterson, 2009). All these rights have limitations, thus prompting the Supreme Court to take primacy in passing the verdicts. Some of these cases relate to the five stipulations of amendment one. The distinguished cases include ‘Edward against South Carolina of 1963’ and ‘Hazelwood School District against Kuhlmeier of 1988’. The former case encompasses detainment of nonviolent protesters for unlawful conduct. The later is about liberty of expression in schools. Significant Cases Related to the Freedoms The case of Edwards against South Carolina occurred in 1963 when an assemblage of 187 Negros scholars gathered to express peacefully. This owed to the fact that they felt upset by laws of South Carolina, which purportedly forbidden their privileges. This group of lobbyists assembled at the spot of State......

Death in America First Paper

...Death In America First Paper Philippe Aries and Death in Early America In Philippe Aries’ Western Attitudes Towards Death, the author describes four separate, general attitudes towards death that occurred between 300 A.D. and the present. The two most relevant to the early American period that we have studied in class are the ones he terms “One’s Own Death,” in the period from c.1200 A.D. to 1700, and “Thy Death,” in the period between 1700 and 1920. Several different sources illustrate various aspects of these different stages, as well as the changes between them as the “language of death” varied over time. They offer evidence of the nature of the relationship between man and God, peoples’ reactions to death in their surroundings, and the changing overall American view towards death. One of the most obvious ways that Aries’ theories are reflected in early American writing is in the accounts of deathbed scenes. Because the artes moriendi shows a “struggle between the forces of good and evil who are fighting for possession of the dying man,” (Aries 36) as well as a “final test” (Aries 37) of the dying man’s virtue, the “ritual solemnity of the deathbed… by the end of the Middle Ages had assumed among the educated classes a dramatic character, an emotional burden which it had previously lacked” (Aries 38). Aries then states that this change had the effect of increasing the dying person’s role in his own death (Aries 38). We can see this deathbed drama and emotion in......

It should be noted that the 5 bases are split into to 2 primary power base types. Legitimacy, Reward and Coercive all belong in the Formal power type. The second power type is Personal power. The Expert and Referent bases fall into this category. Each power base is described below. 1. Reward is where a person expects a positive response to an action performed. The response can be praise, time off, monetary, or anything else the person values as a reward. In our scenario the manager is offering the prospect of a yearly bonus through a superior rating for those who work more than 40 hours per week. Employee 1 values that reward and puts forth the effort in hopes that his or her performance will meet the goal of a superior rating. 2. The second base of power to discuss is Legitimacy. ...scientists to continue their work. Their dreams were not to create, build or deploy army rockets, but rather to create rockets that could go into space. In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower created the agency under the name The National Aeronautics and Space Act. The NASA mission, according to President Eisenhower, was to encourage peaceful applications in space science. As the program grew, President Kennedy challenged the nation to go the moon in the decade of the 1960’s. In Kennedy’s words, “We choose not to do this because it is easy but because it is hard.” NASA, using more than 20 billion dollars in federal funding, began building the Saturn V rocket to take man to the moon. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first man to step onto the Moon. The exhibits at the US Space & Rocket Center are designed to tell that story. However, the Rocket Center provides another opportunity and has for more than 30 years. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is also home to Space Camp®, one of the nation’s premiere camps where the nation’s young people can learn what it’s like to prepare for space travel. More than 700,000 young people, and adults, have passed through the doors of the U. S. Space & Rocket Center to attend the camps. The Space Center is Alabama’s largest tourist attraction and the official visitor center for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Visitors to the center can take daily bus tours to NASA and see the original test stands......

Brownies First Person View Paper

...Laurel, but my friends call me “Snot”. I am an African American and in the fourth grade. I am going to tell you a story about my adventure at Camp Crescendo, a summer camp for fourth graders near the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. I announced that by the second day of camp, all the girls in my Brownie troop had decided they were going to "kick the asses" of every girl in Brownie Troop 909, who were all white girls. The other black girls and myself took a dislike to the white girls when we first saw them. Arnetta, our ringleader, said they smelled "like Chihuahuas. Wet Chihuahuas." When she said that they were like "Caucasian Chihuahuas," we all went into fits of laughter. They regard the word Caucasian as a hilarious term of abuse that can be used in almost any situation. We all have seen whites before but have never had much to do with them. But the ten white girls we encounter at the camp are closer to us and, therefore, more real and capable of exciting envy and hatred. At the end of the first day at camp, Arnetta reports she heard one of the white girls refer to Daphne, a black girl, as "a nigger." On prompting by Arnetta, Daphne, a quiet girl, nods her head to confirm that the derogatory term was used. Arnetta tells the other girls that they cannot let the white girls get away with using that word about them. She told us that we must teach the white girls a lesson. Janice suggests that they put daddy-long-legs in the white girls' sleeping bags, and when the girls awake,......

My First Rodeo- Memory Paper

...“Well it's bulls and blood, it's dust and mud, it's the roar of a Sunday crowd. It's the white in his knuckles, the gold in the buckle he'll win the next go 'round. It's boots and chaps, it's cowboy hats, it's spurs and latigo. It's the ropes and the reins, and the joy and the pain, and they call the thing rodeo” (Garth Brooks- Rodeo). Going to rodeos has always been one of my favorite things to do. I would go to a rodeo every weekend if it was possible, but no rodeo will ever compare to seeing it all for the first time. It was a clear September day in Fort Madison, Iowa, we all piled out of the car and headed to the ticket window. I was dressed to the nines, with my wranglers tucked into my red boots, my fleece horse jacket was zipped up over my button up, and my cowgirl hat perched on my head, covering my braided hair. I was rodeo-ready. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes we had our tickets and were in the gate! We bypassed all of the vendors selling hats, jewelry, and clothes to get to our seats. We didn’t have to wait long before The National Anthem and the flags were brought in on horseback. After The National Anthem was over the announcer said that something called Grand Entry was about to begin. I didn’t know it then but I was about to see my favorite part of the rodeo. All of the sudden the gates opened and horseback riders started streaming in. There had to be over 500 riders, all at full speed running around the arena. It was a beautifully dangerous......
