Fisherman’s Friend

...lot of things handsome boys pretty girls that I want to mingle with, kind of teachers and a wee known school, Lyceum of the Philippines University of Batangas (LPU-B) , but it’s not all I’d discover; the word “college “means a lot to every teenager like me. It’s funny to think that when you’re a teenager life is going on and on with every steps that you take in that journey, You might find yourself having close friend true friends best friends, whatever a person calls it. For an unexpected reason, you develop the strong love and bonding to each other, treating everyone as your one sister or your own brother. Although there are so many laughers to each of you, there might be hidden heart feelings because of some struggled words that you gave to your friends. But now, it’s already done with a smile in our faces. That’s the best things or feeling the person can have after the long conviction of things between us. This is all natural so let’s understand them and learn to forget each and every one. Without these two things there would be problems to your relationship. A Complicated Relationship

...A Complicated Relationship Once, there was a shy girl who likes to play the guitar. Her name is Gelou. She is always alone. She doesn’t have many friends and if she has, she doesn’t hang out much with them. Every time she’s at school, she always sits on the bench, play a song and sing it with harmony. One day when she was walking at the porch, she bumped into a girl. “Where are looking?!” “I’m so sorry. I wasn’t paying attention,” she replied. “Oh, I’m sorry, too. My day is just bad. By the way, I’m Kelly,” the girl said. “Hi, Kelly. My name is Gelou. Nice meeting you.” “Okay, got to go. See you around. Bye!” “Bye!” That was the start of their friendship. Every lunch and recess, they will meet up and talk about many things. They talk about a lot of things about academics because Kelly is not the type who will scream for her idol or wear make-up just to be noticed by her crush. She’s kind of boyish. Not like Gelou. But even though they are different, they still got along just fine. Suddenly, some popular boys, which are their classmates, just bumped into them. As expected, Gelou wouldn’t say anything. But Kelly is different. “Hey! Watch where you’re going!” “Oh, miss. We’re sorry,” one of the boys said. “Next time, you guys should look where you’re going,” looks at Gelou “Let’s go!” The next day, Kelly didn’t go to school leaving Gelou alone. For the second time in her life. Again, she was sitting in her favorite bench, playing a smooth song in her...

Me My Self

...bicycles and rollerblades while they strolled along the streets. What caught my attention was the airplane that flew across the sky that disappeared over the horizon. I always wondered what it would be like to travel to another place and experience another country's culture. It would be fun to go to South America, Australia, Europe, or even China. Well, I had my opportunity in 7th grade to go to France in Europe, and what I remembered from this trip was an injury that I probably would not forget. The place I stayed in France was a house not too far from Paris. It was in the rural areas of France, but it was a lovely place. My friend, Julien, showed me around the house and introduced me to his family. They were all very kind. Everything was going smoothly and I waited for the upcoming days of excitement. One day, on a weekend, Julien gathered some friends to have a picnic and to go on a bike journey. There were a total of 6 including me, 4 guys and 2 girls. Julien lent me one of his bikes, which was not the best because the wheels kept jamming, but usable. On the way, we stopped at stores to pick up snacks and accessories. We even stopped by a shop that had all kinds of explosives and fireworks. At this point I was really excited because in the shop were small dynamites, the size of USB drives to rockets that would shoot in the sky to make pretty sparkles in the sky. I eagerly paid for several boxes of small dynamites and a...

A State of Trance

...language. It not only provides insight but it allows me to feel as if I’m in another world. Music comes in many forms from rap, r&b, rock, pop, and many more but nothing speaks to me more than the power of trance. Trance is a genre of music that alters a mix of electric dance and repeated lyrics and beats. Throughout my school years I managed to have many friends but ones who weren’t really setting me up for a good future. I would do things, such as homework and studies, at my own pace and school wasn’t my first priority. It was fall of 2009, when my cousin Jay, introduced me to the world of trance. I remember that very first song he had me listen to called “On a good day” by Oceanlab. After hearing it several times I almost felt as if I were able to escape from the world I was living and came to realize that it was almost my little piece of heaven. Trance makes me so relaxed and motivated when I listen to it. It was almost like a friend to me because the lyrics that came along with it were more insightful than the words that came out of my friend’s mouths I hung out with. At that point in my life I moved away from friends and moved in a better direction. Sports have been a huge part of my life. I played soccer and volleyball all throughout high school and I remember specifically these words from my volleyball coach Maggie Porada, “ We can tell you what to do and how to play but we can’t motivate you more than you can yourself.” I went home after that practice wondering if...

My Friend

...My friend Every person needs a friend. Friends are very important in our life. I think you cannot live without friends. A friend is a person who always there for you. Your close friend or best friend is a person whom you can trust with everything no matter what happens. Your true friend is always ready to help you. To support you if you do something wrong and to solve problems together with you. They say that “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. I think it is really so. A friend is someone whom you can call ten years after no calling at all and he or she will be gald to hear you. You probably already guessed that I want to tell you about my friend. Her name is Dasha. We became acquainted with each other at the entrance examinations. We chatted for a while, wished each other good luck and went. Two months later, I came back to Kurgan and settled in the dormitory. To my surprise, I saw a familiar face in the coridor. It was Dasha. We were so happy , that we met each other, because we didn’t know anybody there. We immediately went to the commandant and asked to share a room. She allowed us. That’s how our friendship began. Dasha is three years older than me. She is small and slim at the waist. She holds her body upright. She has long, abundant, dark, curly hair. Above her dark brown eyes lies a perfect set of full, well-marked eyebrows. She wears glasses, which suit her very well. Her rounded face sits atop her shoulders with a brilliant smile. Brick Is Gay

...death of his friend Skipper. In Act two, Big Daddy confirms that Brick started drinking “when his friend Skipper died”. Brick also drinks so that he does not face reality. Brick himself says that he drinks until he hears “click in his head that makes me peaceful.” This peace is what separates him from the reality that his friend Skipper is dead. The playwright, Tennessee Williams intentionally makes the idea of Brick’s homosexuality ambiguous. In the stage directions in Act Two, Williams says that “some mystery should be left in the revelation of character…” In fact, it is not until towards the end of Act One that the reader starts wondering about Brick’s relationship with Skipper. During her conversation with Brick, Margaret talks about how she should never have told Brick about “that thing with Skipper”. Margaret had a slept with Skipper to get Brick’s attention and prove that he was not gay. When Margaret mentions this, Brick becomes agitated and tells Maggie to “shut up about Skipper”. He gets really angry and tells Maggie that she is fooling with something that “nobody ought to fool with.” Maggie continues to talk about her one-night stand with Skipper. She even mentions one time when Skipper, Brick, Gladys Fitzgerald and her had gone out on a double date but Brick and Skipper ignored the girls making the occasion “more like a date between Brick and Skipper”. This is a huge red flag that Brick was interested in Skipper. It seems like they were more than friends. Maggie continues...

Essay on Hindsight

...HINDSIGHT ESSAY Life was all about friends. My parents were of lesser importance to me. Friends were such an intergral part of my life that I could not imagine a single day without them. We did practically everything together. Travelled around Pakistan, hiked, camped and explored so much together. All spent every weekend at my place. Ate, slept, played in fact lived together. Life was good. Life was happy. The cloud of gloom could not wait any longer and it showered the rain of envy and spite. The people I loved so much turned out to be foes. All along I had been associating with people who were not genuine to me. Who had envy in their hearts. Who were fake. All my life was fake. Pretence. St.Patricks High School used to be a very happy place. The year 2013 goes down in the history of St.Patrick’s history as the saddest year ever. It witnessed many fights and destructions of relationships. My best friend, Ahmed Abdullah Siddiqui, became an enemy. Politics. Dirty politics. He got indulged in what one should abstain from ; destructive competition. Thirteen years of a beautiful friendship were squashed burnt ans trashed. It was heartbreaking. Just for a petty post he decided to give up such a divine bond. Whenever there is a fight there are always two sides or more. Sadly, not a single person from the people I called friends stood with me. All along I played a neutral, calm and composed role. Despite of the aggressive and offensive behavior of Abdullah I maintained my composure...

...asked all of us to come to his house three days before his birthday. It was supposed to be a small tea-party with a few friends and family members. As he is the eldest in the family, he asked me to come and help him with the preparations. A day before, we went to the market and brought the necessary decoration articles. We decided for a few minutes on the food and other things with my friend’s father. We also ordered for the cake from the bakery his father asked us to. We both were really excited. I decided to go straight at his place after college to help him with the decorations. I had already kept my clothes there, so dressing up was no problem. Both Uncle and Aunty are working, so they too were very glad and relieved with me there to help their son prepare for his birthday party. One our way back home from college, we collected the cake and the eatables that we had ordered the day before. Then we hurried back home. We quickly had our lunch and headed for the drawing-room. We changed the table-cloth, cleaned the room and started with the decorations. We decorated the ceiling with paper buntings, bells and stars. We blew balloons and hung them all over. Doing that was great fun as some of the balloons bursted while blowing and others refused to stick to the wall. For our siblings, we had kept a few birthday caps. While I was blowing the balloons my friend quickly wrapped the return-gifts. We placed floating candles on the table where the cake would be kept and then put an...
