...Awesome What I find to be awesome is cars. Cars are the best thing to ever happen to this world. Where would we be without cars? Cars are the signature to most advancement. Cars are fast. Cars are classic. Cars are just amazing. I’m sure most people don’t ever stop to admire a car. Cars are amazing if you actually know about them and know what you like. There is amazing cars all over the world I have lots of cars I really like. Cars are an art. Nothing is better than the bond you can make by building your own car. It’s a whole other feeling. Cars are amazing. For three reasons. First reason is that they are fast. In my opinion of a good fast car. I would get a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. Just because that’s my style. This car is rolling fast yea there is faster imports, but this is classic, friendly but crazy fast. This is a beast on 4 wheels. 271 horse power you bet its fast. This car goes from 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. This is just one of the millions of cars out there. Cars are legit the best past time because of their incredible speed. Another fast car is the 1987 Grand National. This car is fast and slick, you need a getaway car this is your car. Its precise steering with the right driver you can drive miracles. It goes from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. No matter what car you have you get or are thinking of getting how fast is it or how fast does it go is always one of the questions you ask. Okay so the second reason I think Cars are amazing...

Also the rainstorms that happen so rarely in the desert but when it does it goes big. For animals to adapt to this kind of weather is incredible with nowhere to go it really is the survival of the fittest with no water in sight with that kind of heat. The deep sea exhibit was quick for me but I had the chance to play with the roving robot and it’s interesting because I have always wanted to control one of these or at least mess with one and just being able to play with the controls was really cool. It’s so cool that we are only advancing watch this type of technology like this and just being one day to explore the Marianas Trench with this would be really cool. The global zone was really cool. The big earth and being able to rotate it. The L.A. zone was...

...tests, we all need a break. After a long time of studying for my end of term semester exams, I was in desperate need of a good, long break. So when our holidays came around, I was so excited and relived. Holidays generally mean, waking up late, playing with friends and relatives, going places, eating lots of food and watching a lot of cartoons on TV. That was the way it was for me… but in addition to that we went a on a trip too. My father had his vacation that same month and our whole family was over-joyed. We decided to spend the month in Kandy at one of our relatives’ house. It was the most AWESOME Vacation we ever had. Their house was soooo beautiful and their garden, like a paradise. The house was small, but that was another reason why it was fun, because I had to share rooms with the son at that house who was the same age as me. We were so mischievous and were up to all kinds of fun. At nights after our parents had told us to go to sleep, we would secretly play video games or fighting games, or pillow fights, or act like we are camping until the late hours. His name was Mustafa. Anyways together Mustafa and I went on bike rides and helped his mother in the garden. He loved gardening and he taught me how to plant a seed and how to ensure it has the right conditions for growth. I used to think gardening was just a tiresome task, but when I did it at Kandy I discovered it was some type of meditation. There is something beautiful about working in the fresh air in the......

...favorite sport to play. I got to like this sport because I have watched my brother since I was little. I thought it was cool to watch him. I knew one day when I was bigger I would play myself. I am a born and raised Chicago Cubs fan just like my dad and brother, but my mom likes the Sox’s. The materials you need when you play baseball are helmet, baseball glove, bat, baseball pants, ball cap, jersey and spikes. Helmets are very important so the ball don’t hit your head. It ball can hurt you very bad, if you don’t have a helmet on. Here are the basic steps you need to play the baseball game. First you need a field to play the game on. Second you will need to learn some starter rules. Rule number one is to never yell at the umpire. If you do they can throw you out of the game and you will be in trouble. This can cause you to sit the bench in the next innings or even get thrown out of the game. Second do not slide in to first base, because you can get hurt. The final rule is have fun and treat other players with respect. When you first get a glove you have to make sure to break it in. If you don’t break the glove in properly you will not be able to catch the ball right, like a fly ball. It can cause the ball to roll out of your glove. Then the batter can get a base run or even score a point, instead of getting an out. Try your hardest and have fun, if you strike out its okay. On your next at bat you try again forget about the one before and you can maybe hit it......

...What is peer pressure? When does it happen? Where? Who is affected by it? Am I a victim? Is there anything I can do? These questions run through our minds every day. The answers… you fill in. Now, it’s been said that our age group is affected by peer pressure because of our so-called friends tempting us into trying things they consider “cool” and “fun”. These things are drugs, alcohol and stealing. About 60% of us (teenagers) end up in the hospital, jail, rehabs, and/or on the streets because of these three items. My point is that we easily give in to peer pressure. That’s not a good thing. It has happen to me, and I am sure that it has happen to all of you. What you have to do is just walk away, and tell someone what’s going on. I know its sounds easy but its not. My reason is that I believe we give in to peer pressure because we want to be part of the in-crowd. We think that if we do it, everyone would like us and think we’re so awesome. Let me ask you this. If the coolest kid jumps off a bridge, are you going to jump off too? No! But it’s the cool thing to do! Or are you thinking of what happens if that kid dies? What if you die? So why don’t we ask ourselves these questions when it comes to drugs, alcohol and stealing. But hey! Your argument may be that you think you’re nothing, so drugs, alcohol and stealing makes you feel like you’re big and bad or you’re somebody. Or it’s not in your control because your friends sneak shots in your drinks at a party, whatever......

I love when they come visit, grammy always brings lots of candy and presents and grampa tells the funniest stories. I got so much cool stuff for Christmas. Santa brought me a doll house and lots of dolls with a car and lots of furniture for it. Mommy and daddy got me clothes, art thingys, a baby doll that actually goes potty, and a bunch more. Mommy gave me a special necklace. It’s called a locket. It’s a heart and opens, and there’s picture of our family inside it. It’s so pretty. I wore it on Christmas with my pretty dress. My dress was red with silver sparklys in it and a silver bow. Mommy put my hair in braids and helped me get dressed for Christmas dinner. I ate so much. I had turkey and ham and stuffing and cranberry sauce and pie and cookies and candy and mashed potatoes and carrots and rolls. I was so full my belly hurt. Mommy told me to go play with my toys and relax. I didn’t want to relax though. I wanted to play with my cousins. I never get to see them, and they were here. I love my cousins. We have so much fun playing together. We played tag and hide-and-go-seek. Then we all went outside and had a great big snowball fight. After the snowball fight was over we all went inside had some yummy hot cocoa with lots and lots of marshmallows to help us get warm and grammy made her special chocolatey chocolate chunk cookies. ...study abroad info session for any FE classes. Knowing how much fun and how great of a time my mom had when she decided to go to Rome for a semester, I definitely wanted to see the options that were available to me. The meeting was held right after class in Sellinger Hall, John brought in a lot of guest speakers who have actually just got back from studying abroad from places like Bangkok, Ireland, Australia, and China. First, we went around the room introducing ourselves. Next John passed out a huge handout with all the information on every place we could go studying abroad and what the requirements and prerequisites for each trip. And he also brought up on the computer of how to research them on Loyola’s website if we needed more information. After John talked about the information for almost all of the trips, we got to here experiences from each one of the students that were there. The guy that went to Bangkok spoke first; he told a lot of stories all about how awesome the apartments are, told us how easy it was to keep up with your school work, and how relaxing it was to have two week breaks to just go explore the capitals, mountains, and to take a trip to Hong Kong. The two girls that went to Ireland spoke next, and spoke of how pretty it was to live in Cork. They also spoke of their “interesting” experiences living with another family for a few weeks. Next, a girl who visited China spoke of how unusual, yet awesome it was to live in a completely different society and......

...curtain of trees. The best part: The warm beautiful lake that I got to dive into for hours. The Clift’s has always been a place where I felt free. When we would go to the Clift’s my friends and I would all go pile in the hot car and drive around and eventually would come to the conclusion that we should just go to the Clift’s, like we always did. There were always new people to meet, and they all felt the same way I did about my special place. They all had positive vibes and were all pretty cool. The forest was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. It was bright, green, and deep. As I walked through the forest the trees would touch me, and the branches that had fallen would crack under my feet. One of the reasons why I went there as a teenager was to experience things that I wasn’t able to do in the outside world it felt like. I could smoke as I pleased. Most people just smoked cigarettes and marijuana, some did other drugs but that’s all I really wanted to do. Drinking was always fun, too. It gave me a sense of adventure and made me feel as I could party forever. Drinking and smoking gave me the ability to be hyper and dance, and made me feel like I could do whatever I wanted. Now, the best part: diving into the water. First I would prepare. Looking down I would decide how far to jump. Then I would look up at the sky and then look half way at the beautiful horizon, and then before I knew it I would have jumped. As the water splashed around me, I dived deep and......

...My Unforgettable Trip to California Mirna El Hadi American Intercontinental University English 106 Dr. Rebecca Coleman January 12, 2013 “My Unforgettable Trip to California” This past April, my friend and I took a five-day trip to California, where we visited San Francisco and the Napa Valley wine country. We flew out on a Friday morning and stayed in the Golden State until Wednesday afternoon. During our visit, we saw quite a bit of gorgeous scenery, ate some scrumptious food, and drank some tasty wine. All in all, it was a fun, relaxing, and memorable vacation. But the reason the getaway was truly memorable is because I lucky to spend such an amazing time where I got to enjoy an awesome weather visit some unforgettable places, and best of all, try new kinds of food, which is my favorite. “Cool Weather for a Vacation Pleasure” When it comes to San Francisco’s weather, all I can say is “Gorgeous.” I mean that many great aspects of our vacation that were beyond our control just happened to go in our favor. In San Francisco, for instance, the weather was absolutely beautiful, with sunshine, very few clouds, and mild temperatures. The city has a reputation for being foggy, chilly, and windy, so we were fortunate to experience the lovely weather while we were there. In addition, my friend and I went to Pier 51, which is “home” to some sea lions during certain times of the year. Though there are many times throughout the year that the sea lions are not......
