Imagine a tranquil night in the last day of December. It is still winter just a few years ago. Consider the living room in one of the many houses in Beijing. The main feature of the room is the TV screen surrounded by the flowery sofas and a sharp edged wood table; there is also the ceiling to floor windows that shows vivid motions of the streets and its civilians walking by. The lights of the room are dancing with joy by its sense of voice and excitement rising in the air. A female with neat black-red hair is sitting comfortably on the sofa. She is wearing a warm red turtleneck sweater with comfy grey leggings and her feet heated with a pair of purple socks covered randomly with yellow polka dots. She is ordinary and swift like a light hearted puppy; but due to stress and reduction terms of sleep, her loss of weight is obvious in the shadow of her slim shape. Her face shines the childish laughs as Ellen DeGeneres but different by the look of her skinny cheekbones and the spark of a Chocolate –Hershey bar pair of eyes. Turning on the TV and curling herself into a ball on the couch, she exclaims in delight, “Bring out the snacks and food for the New Year Show!” She is rushing me and the rest of the family to prepare since the show is starting. She is in her mid-forties as I am in my teenage years. The woman is my mother. My dad is here along with my sister and occasionally disputes erupt, but as a family, we try to ignore the pretty ugly flames that prickle our heart at times; we are all here, as always, to celebrate the New Year together. My mom and I are always there for each other. She calls me by the name, Jessica, as we are old friends. Even though time has aged my mom, she still remains in her teenage world. It’s always the same: The start of dusk and the lights livelier than ever before, announces the arrival of New Year. My mom sits impatiently, one hand holding the remote, the other waving us to come, like the force of the wind shoving us forward, in the coziness of the room. As I look around, the traditional annual New Year show is playing, the scent of hot pot still lingers in the air but a whole new pile of snacks and drinks are piled chaotically on the table. The Chinese decorations are full with symbols of Chinese zodiac, posters of a girl and a boy holding a scroll that says, “ Happy New Year!” , and symbols of lucky reds flooding everywhere in our home, messy but beautiful. When the Danish cookies , chips, plum candies, fruit cups, beef jerkies, are halfway gone, time is also narrowing to New Year and the host starts counting down to midnight. We all chant with the host until the number zero is said and we all rush to the windows as the fireworks crackle, pop and fizz while the multi- colored fireworks splash through the sky and gleams under the dark. We watch the rare sight for a long period of time as the enthusiasm gradually grows. When the last of those sparks sizzle off, a cloud of pollution wraps around the sky. This year was different. It will always be blood running through my veins; a memory. It was the first time that I felt genuinely warm under the arms of my family. Every bit of snow within our house was melted as if it felt the love spreading everywhere. New Year is when dusty mistakes are forgiven, as new goals emerge. It is a turning point, a tree growing its leaves again. It’s another year of new experiences and hopes.

Where Star Wars Episode Ii Went Wrong

...So, I’m going to have to do to this one what I did to the first one, and again, I fully acknowledge the Plinkett reviews as a source for me to draw from. The big difference here is that while I was more than willing to give a little leeway to The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones gets no such love. Plain and simple: this movie was terrible. The Direction First and foremost, we need to remember one big thing about the first 3 movies: only one was directed by George Lucas. The other 2 were done by directors Lucas respected (Kershner and Marquand). These movies are 100% Lucas and, in the case of Clones, he elected to direct a movie that was nearly entirely filmed against a green screen. This allowed him to do filming of characters against a blank canvas while allowing him to basically design whatever world he wanted around them. Green screens had long been used for special effects and matte fills, but hadn’t been used this heavily at this time. While Episode II wasn’t a full “digital backlot” film, there were tons and tons of shots that had actors doing their thing with nothing around them but green cloth. The upside here is that digital backlots can save a lot of money in film production since you don’t have to build sets that are either very complicated (aka “expensive”) or utterly impossible. The downside is that if your director isn’t, you know… an actor’s director, the actors all end up like they’re acting in front of a bunch of green cloth because they have......

Costs of using social networking are almost free, but with the increasing popularity, this is now a full-time position(s). Are the costs worth the return in investment? Approach: Milestone 1 will focus on Walt Disney World Parks, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney Vacation Club’s social networking on Facebook. I will review their posts during the first part of November, and give my opinion on the best, average, and worst posts based on the number of likes. I will also analyze each of those posts with the stats, and my opinion if it is a good business decision for social networking. Methodology: Disney posts many postings on Facebook each day. Short Story: a Night at the University

...A night at the University by, Noor Ashiqin bt Jusoff Albar Qurratu’aini bt Noorzam Khoo Chui Choo Effarizan Hassan Prologue: The sudden sounds of breaking twigs on the ground made the three friends shiver in fear. It has never crossed their minds that they would end up getting stuck alone in their University at that time of hour. Ironically, they used to stay in the abandoned hostel not far away from where they are and be roaming the grounds as though they lived the land for generations long. “Of all days” Muffy puffed “your car just HAD to break down today.” The loudest of the group complained. The chatterbox felt a jolt to her heart when she saw a moving figure walking straight down their direction. A human like figure, darkened by the night, walked slowly and swayed step by step closer to them. “Muffy…,” Ezan trembled in the small voice, tugging Muffy’s shirt signalling her to be cautious. “Guys, maybe we should turn back,” Que said alarmingly at the sight of the silhouette. The three friends stopped in their steps, allowing the cold damp night air to sweep across their cheeks. Their hearts pounded like the stomping of horse hooves during a race. Their fingers cold as ice and faces white as sheet making neither of them bolder than the other. “ARE YOU ALSO LOST?!” Muffy exclaimed. Que and Ezan jumped at the sound of her shout. “Muffy! Are you insane?” Que said alarmed. “You can’t just say anything to it!” Ezan said terrified. “You......

...Lovers Or Friends “Wake up Eric time to go to school its your first day, don't want you to be late on your first day of school” Eric mom yelled. “Coming mom” said Eric, “Wait one second and let me put on my shirt” Eric added. The bus pulled up in front of the white picket fence house and Eric is still not ready so he grabs his comb, brush, and his book bag and rush onto the bus. Everyone on the bus starred at Eric as he walked up the three black and dirty stairs. “C'mon boy sit down so we can leave to head to school” the rude bus driver said. Eric didn't know who to sit by because he was new to the school and obviously he thinks no one is going to talk to the new kid. He walked down the hallway as these two light skin boys both wearing fitted jeans and an Hollister shirt one was wearing green and the other wearing a bright yellow color and both wearing all white jordans looking like a pack of sour skittles. As he passed them 1 they started laughing hysterically, as Eric looked at them with a little smirk on his face, one of the boys says to Eric “what are you wearing, them bad ahh reebok and them bad ahh cargos, school Boy”! He was always mistaken for the popular singer, whom She really hates. Will Her high school life end up just like those typical one's? Or will He make the best or even worst out of it? ➶ Chapter 1: Interference /KATHERINE'S PERSPECTIVE First day of school, sigh. Simula na naman ito ng hectic schedule, little time, less fun, and whatsoever bothersome school works. Pero first day of school sometimes is not that bad, kasi usually pupunta ka lang sa unahan at magpapakilala. Orientations, introductions, chit-chats - yeah, that's pretty much it. Kaya on second thought, I'm going to enjoy this first day lalo na dahil makikita ko na ang aking mga hmm, how should I describe my friends? Loud speaker-like? Loquacious? So ayun, siguro yun ang dahilan kung bakit parang naging "Play Girl" itong si Lindsay, in other way. Hindi naman talaga. Pero all in all she's one of a......

Beloved

...FINDER I love the idea of using the Greek word for Finder as the main character’s name… maybe that could even work into the title? The headlines are talking. They say that there are only an estimated 6000 Followers left worldwide and about 10 percent of them may be found in North America. China claims to have wiped them out altogether, while India believes that they can be rehabilitated. Those headlines were from two days ago blaring through my Blue Tooth and YAHWEH alone knows how many of us are left. But after 80 - 100 years of persecution, since the Government’s war on the Followers, we’ve learned how to hide in plain sight. It takes a lot more money living in The Cities than in the communes where I was raised. But after they found our camp, about forty people strong, maybe 34 of us all told were BORNAGAINSAVED. The others were people we’d find on the road hungry, alone, broken; designated appointments from YAHWEH – well after they found our camp . . . well, I’ve been living in cities since then. They called us something else then, but the name has been lost. Now they just call us walking dead or religious trash. Either way it’s all the same. If they catch us, then it’s the Big Show: no ifs, ands, or but’s. Even on the news feeds, we’re “they,” or “suspects,” or “fanatics” and never our names. We’re the nameless ones. That’s how we can tell true Followers from the government plants they keep sending us. You can tell by the scars we carry. Many of us grow our......
