Dear Ms. Smith:

On behalf of Washington-Harris Group, I am pleased to offer you a full-time position as a Medical Administrative Assistant with the Louisiana National Guard, effective July 17, 2006 (tentative). In this position your starting compensation will be $15.00 per hour. Your employment is contingent upon receipt of proof of eligibility to work in the United States and a satisfactory background check.

In addition to your compensation, you will be eligible to receive the benefits which are offered to all Washington-Harris Group employees. These benefits include 10 paid holidays, 10 days Paid Time Off which is accrued by hours worked, health insurance, voluntary benefits, a SIMPLE IRA plan, FICA/Medicare, FUTA, SUTA, and Workmen’s Compensation. Any planned absences should be requested with 10 working days advance notice in writing to your supervisor. We also have enclosed a copy of the employee handbook, which describes our policies and procedures that will govern certain aspects of your employment. Please be sure to review the handbook and sign and return the acknowledgement of receipt page at the end of the handbook.

You also agree that you will not manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance in the various workplaces of the Washington-Harris Group (WHG), and further that you will notify WHG of any criminal statute conviction for a violation occurring in the workplace no later than five (5) days after such conviction.
