In gathering data or information, the proponent conducted a research and interview about the laboratory for the implementation of the proposed system.
Since the proponents are only allowed to choose a client in STI College Cotabato they research a system that is new for the school. The school has a Physics and Chemistry laboratory but it still using manual inventory system in monitoring and storing information of the laboratory apparatus and equipments. The proponents chose to design and develop a module for enhancing the inventory system of the school. From manual inventory system it will become a computerized laboratory inventory system.
In order to gather a data, on July 27, 2012, the proponents conducted an interview to their client, Mrs. Joy Ann Duran-Gaboro. Mrs. Gaboro is a Physics and Chemistry instructor and the person in charge in the Physics and Chemistry Laboratory. Through the interview, the proponent gathered the information about the existing system of the laboratory and how to enhance the system to make it convenient to the user and to the school. Some of the information gathered are the following: the information about the STI College Cotabato, the benefits and the beneficiaries of their laboratory, the number of apparatus and equipments involved in Physics and Chemistry laboratory, the rules and policies in borrowing and returning of the apparatus and equipments, the person in-charge suggestion for conducting the module which will also include the borrowing and returning information, and so on.
Aside from interviewing, the proponent gathered information by researching through the use of internet. By surfing the internet, the proponents reviewed some thesis document as a guide and to have knowledge in conducting the project documentation. ...Kudler Foods acknowledges the importance their loyal customers bring to the overall success and longevity of their business. Kudler Foods would like to provide high value incentives to those loyal customers by integrating loyalty points and a Frequent Shopper Program for a more personal shopping experience. These incentives include things like first class tickets, rare and special foods from across the globe, and other high end gifts like jewelry and vacation packages (Dennis, 2013). With that in mind Kudler Foods systems analyst has identified three methods for gathering the correct requirements necessary to create a system for the Frequent Shopper Program. Research will be extensive and could be timely, however Kudler Foods plans to get a wide variety of input from the users, stakeholders, and management to guarantee success. On top of interviews and observations of users on the floor, Kudler Foods will also research inventory surplus and documents such as sets of legal forms, job descriptions to output examples like prototypes and layouts (Dennis, 2013). The first method discussed to gather all of this important information is more modern approach called prototyping. Followed up by another modern method of JAD (Joint Application Development) and will finish with more traditional measures. Prototyping is a key method that has a repetitive design and requires user feedback to build proper versions of the prototype. The information that is gathered by interview or documentation...

Timmy's Magic: The Gathering

...A former school teacher and an industrial worker sit down across from each other, “good luck” each says as they nod to each other. Joey, the former English school teacher, now comes to local events as a judge, and Timmy, the industrial worker comes out to relax every Friday. Both from very different backgrounds, as they’re sitting down and shuffling cards, they’ve come to play Magic: The Gathering at a Friday Night Magic tournament. Magic: The Gathering is beloved by many, and is arguably the best game to ever exist. With itself being much like poker and chess combined, Magic does indeed take “a minute to learn, a lifetime to master.” One of Magic’s greatest characteristics is its variety, with play ranging from casual gamers at the kitchen...

We could all stand as close as possible, however perhaps everybody would be uncomfortable with our bodies touching. ...Introduction I remember the first day that I left my son with a sitter in order to go to work. My wife was a trauma nurse who worked three twelve hour shifts starting at 7:00pm and ending at 7:00am. In order for her to get rest, we needed to find a sitter. The funny thing is I remember distinctly not feeling comfortable with leaving my son in this persons care, even though the references she provided were solid. To make a long story short, my intuition proved correct and the situation did not work. I fired the caregiver, perhaps hastily, and now had to figure out what to do about childcare. The hospital my wife worked at had a childcare facility and luckily, they had one opening that would allow us to enroll our son. The facility was clean and bright, very well staffed, and very open and inviting. The trade-off was that the “tuition” was a bit much for a young couple, but we agreed the safety and development of our son was much more important than the cost. Reflecting back on this with knowledge I now have, it is an absolute certainty that the daycare had a formalized system in place; however, I cannot identify which method. This “system” is the distinguishing factor between the two examples provided above. In one case, the caregiver assumes the role of guardian. The responsibility, if taken seriously, is to protect the child from harm and provide for the child’s basic needs. Robert Furman recognized in 1966 that caregivers are in a unique position to do something...

Analytic Competitors

...Running head: Analytic Competitors Analytic Competitors Lev Mallinger Grand Canyon University BUS 606: Quantitative Methods August 24, 2012 “A wise man is strong and a knowledgeable man increases in his strength” (Proverbs 24:5) Introduction An analytic competitor may be described as an organization engaged in the committed activities of accumulating data, organizing and analyzing it into meaningful information, and following through with business decisions and activities informed by that information. An uninformed layperson may assume most businesses operate as an analytic competitor. This, however, may not be so. Many time business decisions are made through anecdotal or subjective non-quantitative means. An example of this might be a person wanting to open up a restaurant in town. He sees there are no 24 hour diners in the town, so he figures that since he likes diner food, other people must also and without competition he will have a good chance to succeed. It is very possible that he will succeed, but his chances of success might improve if he were to do some research beforehand. Perhaps he could gather data that informed him more about his potential customer base. How interested are they in diner food? Do the town’s people engage in night time activity that would have them out of the house during the night and early morning hours? Buy collecting data and analyzing it the restaurateur can better plan his offerings and hours of operations. While being an analytic...

...A Memorable Talk If you ask me what scenes impress me most? I will tell you a simple but memorable talk with my classmate. I could well remember it happened on the way to a gathering with my high school classmates, which was held in a cafe in the last spring festival. At that day, I dressed a little different with a pair of minipants and a shiny Martin boots, and most importantly, I made up a bit for the first time in my life. So on the way to the cafe, my high school classmate immediately flattered me and complemented on how I looked beautifully with the changes I made, driving me to be so proud of myself. However, not long later, the idea of me being the most beautiful and successful one among my classmates soon vanished. It broke my heart and even embarrassed me when she told me she had read a great amount of books over the past year, coveing philosophy, psychology, and a book of autobiography . Besides, she travelled around our country with nobody but her own self. I doubted her courage but she assured me that it was after reading those books that changed her mind. They gave her great inspiration. She told me all the interesting things happened in the past year, and suggested me to grab the opportunity of studying in college for it could really make some differences in my life. What a confident, active and intelligent girl she is. Her amazing experiences are completely out of my expectation, for in my opinion she was once a most chicken-hearted student who didn't dare...

Immobility in hospitalized patients is one of the main risk factors contributing to the development of pressure ulcers. Objective: Identify risk factors related to complications secondary to immobility such as pressure ulcers on the integumentary system. Immobility also leads to other adverse effects affecting cardiovascular system, respiratory system, and musculoskeletal system as well. The assessment is performed on admission data, then once a week. The risk assessment scale used was the Risk Assessment Pressure Sore (RAPS) scale, which includes the following variables; general physical condition, activity, mobility, moisture, food intake, fluid intake, sensory perception, friction and shear, and body temperature (Lindgren & Unosson, 2004). Results: 25 % of patients developed pressure ulcers. Non-blanchable erythema was the most common pressure ulcer noted among these patients. The majority of these patients were significantly older, and hospitalized for a longer period of time. In the analysis using variables included in the RAPS scale, immobility emerged as a major risk factor. Conclusion: Immobility is the main cause of pressure ulcer development among adult hospitalized patients. Part II: After reviewing patient’s charts and documentation...

Students in the 21st Century

...Diana Lovato EDU-210 February 8, 2015 Instructor Winter Students in the 21st Century As I age I have realized that the life of a young person has changed drastically in comparison to the way I grew up. When I was thirteen I did not have a cell phone, and the internet was an uncommon luxury; not a customary part of life. Now as an adult I find that I understand less, and with time, more changes are in store for the next up and coming generation. For the past ten years I have been a youth leader at my church to teenagers from ages thirteen to twenty. I decided to conduct my observation on a church youth social gathering. The young people had gathered together at the church to play board games, however after about twenty five minutes into the beginning of the gathering the young people had not managed to actually start any of the games. Instead the girls spent their time taking pictures of themselves and each other with their phones. It was weird to watch the girls ignore each other and still communicate; they were not talking in person, but communicating on social media. In my opinion the young ladies had taken a lot of time on their appearance; having their hair, make-up, and clothing looking as though they were going out for a night on the town, and not a night of board games. The young men all high fived and fist bumped upon arrival and gathered together in a corner where they all took their phones out. The boys had brief moments of communication when they would share...

...* What are the basic process steps for designing a supply chain? * Define Objectives * Gather Data * Model the supply chain network * Analyze the supply chain * Implement and refine * Is the order of the process steps important? * I am a firm believer that the order of designing a supply chain is critical for its success. * Why or why not? * If we just say start at the third process, Model the supply chain, and work back to gathering data and defining objectives. We cannot model the supply chain if we do not have the data, we cannot gather the data unless we have defined our objectives. We cannot analyze the supply chain to determine its success or failure until we have the gathered all of the information to determine how it is working. And of course the supply chain cannot be implemented or refined until we analyze the supply chain. In my opinion each part plays a role into the next, we cannot work the chain backwards and achieve the same results. * How can you tell if the process is meeting your performance requirements? * We could use the analyze the supply chain to determine if the process is meeting the performance requirements. This stage allows for the examination of the process flow, here we can determine where we need to make any changes within the process with our vendors. Once this area is evaluated, we can move on to stage five, which is to implement and refine our strategy. By constant...

...IS4560 Unit 3 Assignment 1 Information Gathering Plan The explosive growth and popularity of the world-wide web have resulted in thousands of structured query able information sources on the Internet, and the promise of unprecedented information-gathering capabilities to lay users. Unfortunately, the promise has not yet been transformed into reality. While there are sources relevant to virtually any user-queries, the morass of sources presents a formidable hurdle to effectively accessing the information. One way of alleviating this problem is to develop a information gatherer which take the user’s query, and develop and execute an effective information gathering plan that accesses the relevant sources to answer the user’s query efficiently. Most organizations are familiar with Penetration Testing (often abbreviated to, “pen testing”) and other ethical hacking techniques as a means to understanding the current security status of their information system assets. Consequently, much of the focus of research, discussion, and practice, has traditionally been placed upon active probing and exploitation of security vulnerabilities. Since this type of active probing involves interacting with the target, it is often easily identifiable with the analysis of firewall and intrusion detection/prevention device (IDS or IPS) log files. However, too many organizations fail to identify the potential threats from information unintentionally leaked, freely available over the Internet...
