Mavis: I am not sure what to do about April anymore. All she does is lie to my husband and I. I have tried my best in giving her the best life possible but nothing seems to work. Nobody understands what I have been through and I want to give April the life I never had. My parents divorced when I was only 5 years old and it tore me apart. I was forced to live with my step-mother and she threw me out when I was 18. April has it is so soft compared to the childhood I have had, she does not appreciate it. I am glad that John loves April as his own daughter and that he takes care of us but he does not understand how I feel and cannot console or comfort me when I need him to. All I want is what is best for our family but April’s lies and behavior is even causing strain on the relationship I have with John. I want to give April the support and love that I never had. Growing up without a support system was very difficult for me. The only person that understood me was my best friend who committed suicide when I needed he the most, I then felt truly alone. April’s father, my ex-husband is nowhere in the picture but I fear that April might turn out like him and I couldn’t handle that. I hope that this family therapy will help with April’s
